Some lame ass excuse about the vendor. Ordered the classic burger with no mayo. My food sat in the kitchen window for about 8 minutes while my waitress passed by it no less than 6 times!!!!! Red head with holes poked in her face, didn't catch her name. There was some mayo based shit on the burger but, I drowned it in mustard and ketchup. Sat there and ate most of my barely warm food getting messy because she never bothered to provide napkins!!! Asked for my check and a napkin. We have been here several times for breakfast. My husband likes the chicken fried steak. Scrambled eggs are good. I get my eggs over-easy always. The only problem is over-easy and they are raw and slimy and have had to send them back (5 times). Over medium and they are hard. I wish they knew how to cook eggs. We were invited to the training event on April 14. Food and service was good. Went back for dinner on 4/26 and it was a catastrophe! We didn't want to wait the hour we were told it would be so we sat at the counter. It was eye opening. The kitchen staff is a mess. The expediter looked like a deer in the headlights. We saw two burgers sit at the pass for 45 minutes while they tried to get the table completed. My husband saw our plates put up at the pass where they sat for 25 minutes, and we were sitting right there!! He had a waffle breakfast which he said was fine. I ordered a BLT thinking that would be safe for an inexperienced staff to produce. It was inedible. The bacon barely kissed the grill and was raw. I tried a piece of the bacon to see if I could eat it but couldn't get past the raw, white fat. I pushed my plate to the front of the counter and despite our server, several other servers, the expediter, and the manager all walking by, no one came to ask me what was wrong. I finally flagged down the manager and she was willing to make it right, but by then, my husband was finished with his meal and we didn't care to wait indefinitely for a new sandwich. Gave two stars as the staff was pleasant. However the WAIT is UNBELIEVABLE! We sat there for an hour after we ordered and still did not receive our food. It would have been better if we would have been informed of the wait to receive our food. Our waiter also could have checked on us a throughout but didn't. I had to ask someone to get her. Mind you we had two small children with us, who are antsy already & hungry. Our waitress was nice, but never once asked us if we wanted a refill in that almost 1.5hrs we waited for our food. Never apologized about the wait, and didn't give us an update about our food until we asked when we where gonna receive it, to which she kept saying "you guys are up next" and proceeded to bring out other orders to other tables for 10 mins before us. I understand it's not her fault for the kitchen being behind, but a little kindness goes a long way. I had high hopes for this new Black Bear opening But disappointed. A/C was on so high people with me were complaining and people at some tables had on light jackets. Food came on cold plates and was only moderately hot, You need HOT plates when A/C is blowing such cold air. My husband sent his back to reheat, and my friend and I just let it go and ate it. We recently tried the Eloy location for the second time, around 1pm on a weekday. Customer service had greatly improved since we tried them not too long after they opened. I ordered the chicken fried steak meal and it was good-- served hot. Salad was fresh and the dressing tasty. My husband ordered an omelette which was good. However, the potatoes served with it were cold and the giant biscuit was like a hockey puck. The floors could have used a sweeping-- but, I'm keeping in mind they were just finishing the lunch hour, which could have been busy. The ladies room was clean. Because of food quality, I'm rating lower. If the potatoes and biscuit had been fresh, I would have reviewed higher. Seriously, if the biscuit is in crumbles and chunks all over the plate... wouldn't a server inquire if it was a problem? It even looked bad. I hope they keep working on improving. read more

So, while roaming around cities and states, I always look for good, but often overlooked places to eat. I just so happened to receive, a text offer for a free breakfast item from the Black Bear Diner. Not willing to pass up a freebie and eat in a new diner was just the ticket. I located the restaurant in the same spot as a truck stop and gas station, which gives it a greater sense of adventure. If truckers and travelers eat here, I can't go wrong. Well, this is where it got dicey. The service was prompt and the servers were courteous, but the first thing: I was served my coffee but was never offered any creamer. A common courtesy even if I drink my coffee black. So I decided on the two eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. I waited eagerly for my plate, which was now taking more than a bit and they were not that busy. When I finally got my plate, the two sunny side-up eggs looked oily, and the bacon which was eloquently described in the menu appeared to have been burned and was as dry as beef jerky strips. The four or five biscuits ( I think ) were buried over a mound of chicken gravy and took up 3/4 of the space on the plate. However, once I got to the biscuits underneath, I found them to be as dry and crumbly as aged concrete. Furthermore, the food was not hot, it was warm and I could tell it sat there for a while before it came to my table. The whole mess was $20, much more than I would have paid at a competing restaurant chain. But because of the coupon, I paid $5. Now, the Black Bear has quite a number of locations from CA, OR, TX, and ID so I can't speak for my experience with other locations. I gave them a three on the service and atmosphere but the food was not very good for the price. I don't dissuade anyone from patronizing the eatery, maybe it was a bad experience for me alone, but I will not be returning. read more

(FOOD POISONING ALERT) My family and I ate here a few days ago (9/11/24) the place is a little dirty honestly. The windows are pretty dusty like they never dust anything. Once we sat down and ordered we ended up waiting a long time for our food, probably an hour. Once we got our food all of it was cold and tasted really stale. Plus our food was burnt. My mom ordered a beef sandwich that was really burnt and my husband's sandwich was burnt too. I had French toast that was over cooked and tasted stale but didn't smell right. So I sent back my French toast and my my husband sent back his sandwich and it took forever to get our food back. I asked for pancakes instead because I worried something was wrong with how they were cooking the French toast. We finally got our food and they gave us free dessert and my mom a free plate of the sandwich she ordered earlier for her to take home to "make it right." But soon after coming home my mom got really sick and has all the signs of food borne illness. Diarrhea and vomiting and a fever. My husband felt queasy the next morning and I felt really achy the next day. My mom is still sick after two days. We won't be coming here again and I've filed a food poisoning complaint. There is no reason to have food going bad here except pure negligence. read more
