Winter 2025, Vegetarian Omelette plus a side of thick bacon :)
    Kathleen K.

We came here for a late breakfast on Thanksgiving & everything was great! The menu was limited due to it being a holiday so my husband ended up having the country fried steak with scrambled eggs whites & hash brown potatoes. Everything was delish with his breakfast with the only complaint being that it was just so much food & they cooked the hash browns perfectly! I had the veggie egg white omelette with the home fried potatoes & all was delish with mine as well, so much food that I ended up eating half of my omelette! We've been to another location & there was definitely a noticeable difference in a positive way. The cook definitely took pride in what he was sending out because it was obvious in the plating of the food. Our server was very attentive in taking care of us even though it was getting ready to be a shift change! We're always a little skeptical in trying a sister location if we've become used to our go to spot but we're glad that we tried out the Diner in Laveen! It definitely shows that Black Bear Diner stays consistent & that can sometimes be hard to come by!

Want to send a big THANK YOU to Black Bear Diner. This is the fourth year our company has had our Veterans Day breakfast at this location. They were very accommodating and even managed to seat us together. The food was great and the service was even better. Happy the manager also noted to the staff to expect us. The BBD is awesome.

Our grandkids loved the pancakes. We had meatloaf which is usually pretty good but the night we were there for some reason it was very salty. Service was good but giving three stars because of the meatloaf.

First time I visit this restaurant. Friendly service, excellent food, open kitchen. We went at 12:15 pm and by 1:10 pm we had already finished. My son ordered the country fried steak and eggs. 3 eggs, two rolls, country potato with fried steak with gravy. I ordered the new pudding pican, praline pancakes with guineo, we didn't even spend $40.00 between the two, I recommend it.

    The Breakfast Club

OK. I know Black Bear is a franchise. But this one need to step it up! I got The Breakfast Club and it was PATHETIC! All together it had one strip of bacon, one thinly sliced peace of ham, one slice of tomato on one of the the halves, and the hash browns were half of what they should be. Just sad!!! Bear is in your name! Sent it back and ask to have it taken off the bill. Sorry, Won't be back.

Bears choice birthday breakfast and a side of hashbrowns
    Nikole C.

This was my first time at Black Bear Diner. They sent me an email for a free birthday breakfast, the bears choice, so why not finally try it out? I ordered the bears choice with bacon and French toast and ordered a side of hash-browns. My daughter chose the cubs choice breakfast off the kids menu and my friend ordered the vegetarian omelette. The food was tasty, well seasoned, cooked to our asking and nice and hot when it arrived. Their menu is huge and they offer such a wide variety of items that I knew I'd want to come back and try more in the future. Plus, they service breakfast all day . The seating was comfortable and the tables were nice and clean. Where our visit left me giving 4 instead of 5 stars, was the service. Our waitress was not very friendly and almost seemed bothered by having to serve us. I'm not sure if it was an off day for her but hopefully she has better days. I certainly didn't let it ruin my day and I look forward to trying out Black Bear Diner again soon.

I kept it simple--no onions, tomatoes, or all the extra stuff. Just eggs wrapped around bacon, sausage, and ham. Man, this thing was GOOD. The meat had a little sweetness to it that worked perfectly with the eggs, and the potatoes were absolutely amazing. Everything just hit the spot. I sat at the bar and had a chance to ask my server a few questions about the place. She was super friendly, helpful, and made the experience even better. Definitely glad I found this spot. Great breakfast, great service, and one of those places you're already thinking about coming back to before you even leave. We arrived at 7:50am, hoping for a quick breakfast before a doctors appointment at 9:10am around the corner. It took the waitress forever to come to our table because she was the only one up front. Totally reasonable. By 8:20am there was over 18 guests and still just her trying to seat people, give them beverages, make espresso, input orders, and basically manage everything. Again. Totally reasonable why things were taking longer. She was hauling a** and working hard. So imagine my utter dismay when I saw a man, probably the manager or owner just standing there like a jacka** not helping her but making polite greetings and conversation to the people at the bar. Utterly unacceptable to watch your employee or someone struggle with that many tasks and not do a darn thing about it. Looking so proud and like everything is just dandy as you lean against the doorframe doing absolutely nothing. Our waitress gets a five star rating but this one star reflects the behavior of whoever that owner/manager is letting staff drown around him. Shame on you.

Even though there was a longer wait, the food and experience made it feel worth it. The smoked brisket Benedict is the standout. The brisket is tender with a deep, smoky flavor. The eggs are perfectly poached, and when everything comes together on the English muffin base, it hits that rich, savory-sweet balance without feeling too heavy. The French toast is Thick-cut and caramelized on the edges, without being overly sugary. It's well-complemented by fresh fruit and just enough syrup so it doesn't turn into dessert overload too early in the day. Overall, Brunch Snob feels like a spot that knows how to do comfort brunch.

Great Group Dining Experience, But Reservations Are Highly Recommended…read more I recently visited Brunch Snob with my fitness group after our weekend session. For anyone planning a visit, please be aware that the wait times can be significant if you do not have a prior reservation. Fortunately, our large party of over 10 guests was able to utilize an indoor corner space to wait comfortably until our table was ready. Once we were seated, the service was excellent. The staff was incredibly patient and attentive while managing a table of our size. The food and beverage options were generally well-received, though there were a few minor details to note. One guest mentioned that the options for mimosa flights were somewhat limited. On the food side, my order of the Mexican Cowboy Bowl was excellent and prepared exactly as expected. While most of our group's orders were correct, one eggs Benedict arrived overcooked despite a specific request during ordering to avoid this. Given the size of our party, the guest chose to accept the dish rather than send it back. Billing Tip: For transparency, an automatic 20% gratuity was included in the final bill for our large group. I recommend double-checking your receipt to keep this in mind before adding any additional tips. Overall, it is a great brunch destination with quality dishes, but making a reservation ahead of time is highly advisable.

I should have known better when the waitress said they hadn't received their shipment of white gravy, and all they had was brown gravy. White gravy is butter, flour, and milk. It's just about the simplest thing for a kitchen to make, and they get it in a box. Worst yet, they can't make any from scratch while they're out of the boxed stuff..? I'm going to guess the brown gravy came out of a box, too, because it was unremarkable. The CFS was clearly frozen. Very chewy, and not much flavor or crunch. The menu used to be colorful and full of photos. Now it looks like the first Microsoft Word Template someone clicked on. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the hash browns were decent. My guest had the corned beef hash and she was too full to finish it. So, I tried it and it was pretty bland, and looked like it came out of a can. I'll give them a second star for knowing how to cook an egg, but next time I feel like a good breakfast on this side of town, I'll just go to Denny's. Denny's is much better than Kay's.
