We took our nieces and their friend here to celebrate graduation. We haven't eaten here in a while because of a bad take out experience last year. But today it was a wonderful experience. The food was wonderful (and there was lots of it to take home) and the ambiance was great. But the best thing was the server. Her name was Jovay. It started with a J. She really helped us. I have crazy dietary restrictions for my medical diet. But she helped me get all kinds of substitutions and had lots of ideas for me. I got a great meal! And I felt like there were a lot of choices thanks to her. The service was perfect. She came by and helped us with all sorts of things through the meal. Also, you could tell she cared about us as people, not just customers or tips. It was refreshing to meet such a kind person who takes the time and care to be so personable. Danni is our most favorite server at the Ogden Black Bear. She always has a smile for my husband and I. She makes sure our food is just like we like it. I love the and she always makes sure it is tender. We both love the sweet potato fries. She always remember what we order and let's us know when our favorite dishes our not available before we order because she what we like. She is a constant presence there and we always ask for her when we come in. She has always been there. For us we would not continue to come if she weren't there because we feel so welcomed. However, I can say that all staff is extremely friendly but Danni is just special. read more

My food was excellent and on time. The courses were well spaced out. My server was Jada and she was fantastic, she gave us everything we asked for and more. My wife normally has ridiculous requests but, Jada handled them perfectly. This restaurant hits it out of the park and so does its service. I had the Grizz and it was fantastic, my wife had the new york strip steak and it was all delicious. The portion sizes were fit for a king and the taste was as well. Jada must be the best and hardest worker there is, and truly deserved every penny. 5 stars will be visiting again soon! read more

Took the family to Black Bear for Christmas Dinner, had a little wait which was expected, was seated at a table asked if we could have a booth and the waitress was super nice about it, and eneded up being our waitress. Clarissa?( hope spelled your name right. You had the santa hat that was backwards. Loved it.) She was totally amazing super kinda polite friendly. So often these days servers make you feel like you're bothering them and seem to hate their job but not Clarissa, she was just wonderful! Breakfast here is yummy. Love the biscuits and gravy and the hash browns are excellent. Strangely they were out of eggs on a Sunday morning but our waitress was amazing! Violet was so cheerful and friendly and offered other options. She was attentive and we felt relaxed and comfortable. We will come back because of her! This is a great place for families to go out and eat. They have a wide variety of food. Our waiter micheal was great, he was super nice and didnt treat us as who pays but like friends. Although i wished they could sing for our birthday ( he said they dont because people complain about their singing ability lol ) it was one of the funnest place to celebrate! read more

The cooks here have no idea what an over easy vs medium vs soft scrambled eggs are , And they can't cook bacon to order so don't bother trying to order a breakfast how you want it .. They will just throw everything on a plate with undercooked potatoes and serve it to you as breakfast read more
