They are always willing to work with your schedule and making sure to do all of the e-paperwork between themselves and the city to keep you hand free. Honest and trustworthy company, thank goodness. I had 5 estimates from other companies regarding a leaky Valve. 3 companies said the only way to fix it, was to replace it for $3K-4K. I noticed a sprinkler cap sagging badly in our bathroom. Turns out the builders that installed the sprinklers in our detached condo put in some workarounds to get the caps to stay put; this one was bent so it could be held up by tension. We found Black Bird on Yelp. Richard was very friendly on the phone and flexible with time. He came out and he told us that luckily we could just add an adapter to fix this. He also tested our whole system. He was very knowledgeable and taught me how a bunch of things worked. I had an issue that I had to text him about the next day and we went back and forth on it a bit, but he was very reasonable and professional about it in the end. We had a leak in our apartment building for 3 days. It started on a Saturday. We had a very hard time getting a plumber to come out and the 2 that did wouldn't fix the leak. The last plumber said it looked like the fire sprinkler system was the problem, and he wouldn't touch it. We called Black Bird and they responded right away. They couldn't come that night but they came the next morning. Rob was the plumber and he fixed the leak right away. He told me he wished the plumbers would at least clamp the leak. He told me when he goes out to a job he patches the leak even if it is not in the sprinklers but also on the main water supply pipes. They were not cheap and did not come 24 hours, but they did fix the problem right away when several other contractors would not. read more

Over the past ten years, we've had two other Orange County based fire companies come out to service our residential system. Both times, the technicians seemed to guess at the issue and complete subpar repairs. Our system was triggered yet again, so we called out Black Bird for their assessment. Marcos was scheduled and arrived on time. I explained the issue and the history of the repairs and he believed that the previous companies cut corners and broke the part prior to install. I agreed to his suggested repair and he began working. Upon removing the old part, he showed me how the former company did in fact fail to assemble the piece correctly and took a few shortcuts, which caused the failure. He then went on to thoroughly explain how the part needed to be fitted to our piping properly, where the former company cut the part with clippers (which was apparent) rather than install the correct fitted attachment. I was so relieved to finally have a solution and proper install. Marcos then took great care to perform a total system maintenance and reset the pressure. I'd recommend this company for residential sprinkler system inspections and will be using them again. read more

I went onto their site and was greeted with a CHAT popup. So I entered our info and was immediately messaged back that someone would be text messaging a response to my inquiry. Sure enough, they replied (very detailed response) within the hour, and left me the manager's number to call if I wanted to move forward. I went above and beyond doing our due diligence, even looked up their Contractor's license with the state board along with the Licensee's name and any issues they may have had, which I am very happy to say, NO COMPLAINTS NO LICENSE SUSPENSIONS, NOTHING DEROGATORY in their background. In fact, in Yelp for my area, they are the only ones that have over 80 REVIEWS with a FULL 5 STAR (Not 4.5), In fact, the one that comes close to their number of reviews with a full 5 star would be FEWER FIRES w/ 56. Luis, their manager for our area, met with me this morning, we did a walk through, and he was able to get me a quote right away, installing new ones, and removing our out of date dilapidated ones, as well as adding locations within our warehouse. I had Black Bird Fire replace the fire sprinklers in my residential home after discovering the existing sprinklers had been the subject of a safety recall. Richard and his coworker were friendly and professional, and as far as I can tell they did a good job with the installation. The new sprinklers look good and there doesn't seem to be any damage to the ceiling. The work was very expensive. Before leaving, Richard told me that the installation had gone smoothly and the final cost would be lower than his estimate. However, the final price they billed me was higher than the estimate. They also charge a 3% service fee if you pay by card. Overall the work came out to nearly $1000/hour (though that includes parts). read more

Richard came out and walked our property to get a complete scope of work. He went from floor to floor and into our garage to count and review each extinguisher and hose. He also looked at our standpipe system. He was very professional and scheduled a service date. On the service day his crew came out and was on time and changed out the hoses and extinguishers with new labels. All test were preformed and pasted. I was very pleased with the service and the time they took with our property. I will be using them next year for all my certification needs for our building. We recently moved into a new home and our home inspector recommended we have our sprinklers inspected. We reached out to Blackbird and asked them to take a look. When scheduling the appointment, they walked me through some of the home inspector comments and explained how the inspection would work. They were super accommodating with our schedules and upfront with pricing. Our technician (Jeffrey) arrived right on time and was amazing. Very knowledgeable, polite and honest about the whole process. He explained how the system works and showed me what to look out for. He checked the sprinkler heads, went into the attic to inspect the piping there and checked the water pressure and drain mechanism.
