This little box of goodness rivals some omakases I've had in person. The fish was fresh, and the rice was perfect temperature without falling apart. Even the box felt like it was a high end gift box. Everything is tucked away in this box: chopsticks, napkins, sauce dishes, fresh real wasabi, and even soy sauce from a tiny bottle. What a treat. The pieces vary with premium ingredients like kinmedai, ikura, uni, toro, etc. It's costly at $62 but I think you get what you pay for. The chirashi had a variety of sashimi, lots of ikura and plenty of sushi rice. It's very good but for $50 I'd rather kick in more $ for the omakase. Maki Flight is great, $21 for a sampling of their three best rolls. It's 12 pieces total but they're nice size with a good amount of filling. In my experience, the quality of the food has also always been excellent -- I have not yet had an unsatisfactory meal. The way that their website is set up enables you to filter search results across a variety of criteria, which is a big help in choosing your meals without the process being overwhelming due to sheer number of choices that are available. My meal shipments have always been on time, and up to the minute tracking is available on the day of arrival. I also typically leave the last order's bag/freezer packs outside my door for pickup. The meals also arrive chilled, not frozen. The only drawbacks to Cook Unity that I can think of are that there is no a la carte option -- a subscription is required; however, skipping weekly shipment(s) can be easily be done. Also, some of the meals are a bit higher in calories than I would like. Finally, several of their meals have had cuts of meat that were VERY fatty.
