At one point the conversation was argumentative and BTW we had 5 kids in our party who were hungry and this guy was taking forever to even take our order in a restaurant that was empty. We returned In the night for dinner menu as there was no other option but the place was busy. We weee sent in 3 different directions to order take out food for kids. We gave up and left. Came here for dinner while staying on property at the resort because we had a credit. It took forever to be seated, forever to get service, forever to be served drinks, forever to get food, and forever to get our bill. There were about 4 parties in the restaurant at any time, and at least 4 workers (host, waitress, bartender, cook), so really no excuse. The bartender went and sat down at a table with 4 women and was very blatantly hitting on them, even though they were visibly uncomfortable. Eventually the waitress had to tell him that he had drinks to make. Our entire visit was nearly 3 hours due to how slow it was. My drink was awful when I got it - a supposed mojito tasted of rancid lime of club soda. I took one sip and asked my partner to try it, who said it tasted medicinal. Our waitress didn't come around again til our food was ready, which by that point, I didn't want a replacement drink, so she just took it away. The food we got was barely warm and not good. I like a medium rare steak but it was still cold in the middle. My date had the prime rib which seemed better, but I had lost my appetite. When the waitress came around, she asked if we wanted dessert, but honestly, I couldn't stand to be there any longer. We got the check and the drink she said she'd take off was still on there and she said she couldn't change it but if we charge it to the room, we could dispute it with the front desk. So that we did. We've been coming here for years! BDP is located within the Mountain Club on Loon, and it's the ONLY option for dinner on the property. Sadly, since COVID and perhaps the current Administration, they seem to have lost their international seasonal staff. The service is deplorable! Perhaps better, lack of service. One evening during a current stay, we waited 45 minutes to be seated only to be served by who appeared to be the only server that evening. % the fault of management, or again, lack of. Tonight, a hostess who was there but not "present", appeared inconvenienced by a guest asking if they could call our room (one floor up), or text when our table was ready. The experience once seated was no better. As the only option on the mountain after a long, cold day, we opted for convenience. We don't come here for the culture and cuisine. Hoping nonetheless that management will take action to improve the experience versus taking advantage of the captive nature of their customers with sub-par service, steps to make it enjoyable, not just convenient. Additionally, the "value" isn't there. The menu is very expensive relative to the quality, selection, and hospitality. We used to frequent the Pub during our stays at The Mountain Club. We are now, more often, venturing down to the village. And forget about it when there is live music when more often than not, the volume and amplification far exceed the talent. read more

The black diamond pub was tolerable. The service staff were accommodating and friendly. Against better judgment we ordered the prime rib which is only available on Friday and Saturday, on a Sunday. We were assured that the roast was cooked same day as served.... We are not too sure about that. It was tender but was relatively bland. We ordered Shirley temples which were standard. The wait staff was surprised that we were not ordering alcohol. We explained we chose no alcohol due to being in the sun all day. The potatoes tasted like little baked potatoes so we requested butter and sour cream. In our opinion the salads were the best part of the meal. We received our check and noticed that the had added a second salad to the bill although we asked for a salad instead of the other sides listed. We were told it wouldn't be a problem. I will start by saying the service was great. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to please and accommodate our party, some of whom had special needs. The food was another matter. The breakfast buffet was cold except for the sausage gravy which was tasty, but the biscuits were dry and tasteless. The food was the average fair, not worth the price and if we hadn't gotten one free ( one person )breakfast with the room we wouldn't have bothered. Dinner was better, although it was limited. I didn't see some of the items I've seen in other reviews. I think it might have been a special menu for the Highland Games? At least it was hot. The fish was well cooked but a little bland, the vegetables were a little overdone for me. Everyone else seemed happy with their choices of burgers n fries and corned beef n mash. The desert was the highlight though. I got the flourless chocolate cake, everyone else got the cheese cake. They were both delicious, but that chocolate cake was one of, if not, THE best chocolate anything I have ever had. Again the waitress were amazing, going out of their way to ensure our comfort. The two stars off were for the high priced, cold and only average breakfast especially since they advertised as the "Home Of The Mountain Breakfast". The host took our name along with a group of 5 in front of us and a few other parties. He then ran around filling waters for people already sitting and at the empty tables. He walked around in a tizzy, all the while the empty tables remained empty. We ate here 3 times over the course of our stay at Loon Mountain Resort. Mainly because it was convenient and we were tired. The food was sub-par and SOOOOOO expensive! The breakfast buffet was over $75 without tip for our party of 3. Horrible service. The hostess didn't even greet us when we walked up to the counter, we had to go to the bartender for service. We finally got seated after 15 minutes. (We were the only ones waiting) we sat without service for another 10 minutes. We got soggy, smushed rolls that were just above room temperature, and our clam chowder had a thick film over the top of it. The steak bomb Mac and cheese consisted of watered down cheese sauce and no meat, but inedible gristle. The pasta and meatballs was cold. Not good quality for the expensive price. The bar tenders tonight were extremely rude when serving us. They were skeptical when I returned the glass of Pinot Grigio for Chardonnay (which is what i ordered). We purchased shot glasses earlier in the night and they threatened to throw them away if we didn't move them off the bar (with a very aggressive tone). Just ok, but super convenient if you are staying at the hotel. We went there 2 nights in a row and the first night the staff seemed completely overwhelmed. Service was slow and the "flatbread pizza" literally looked like a frozen cheese pizza. I wish I had taken a photo of it. I have been going here for years. The new menu this ski season is really delicious - upscale comfort food plus a nice choice of standard entrees (steak, seafood, etc..). They always have some flavorful and creative specials. The apres ski setup is really good - music and varied appetizer specials - along with some great micro brews. The restaurant/bar is located slopeside in the Mtn Club hotel adjacent to Loon so if you are not staying at the resort there is parking at the mountain and they also open up parking around back at the hotel at the end of the ski day. If the gates are down you can get a pass from the front desk to park. They serve a really nice buffet breakfast with omelette station and a great lunch of burgers, sandwiches, soups, pizza, and a few creative items. I am a regular and enjoy it immensely. They have a new D+Luxe burger on the lunch menu that is AMAZING....foie gras, truffle cheese, wild mushrooms, port wine syrup....YUMMMM. This, plus the pulled pork sandwich and lobster bolognese are my favorites! read more

I ordered the chicken and sausage skillet and it was terribly over cooked to the point where the chicken was inedible. The food was overpriced due to being in the resort. Have stayed at the Mountain Club for the last 7-8 years during February school vacation and during the last 2-3 years, found both the food and service at the Black Diamond unacceptable. Last Sunday, ordered Alfredo, grilled cheese and hamburger with family...only two other parties in restraurant and meal took 45 minutes to deliver. Food was either frozen in middle (Alfredo ) or burnt, both grilled cheese and hamburger. This is an A-OK place to grab dinner, drinks, a snack, or any basic meal. The service is friendly (although sometimes slow). The prices are high for what you get, but that's likely a factor of being in a "resort" location, so we were fine with that. We tried the risotto balls appetizer special one night and found them extremely overwhelming and flavorless, even when doused with the sauces they provided. However, this disappointment was offset by our entrees, both of whose portion size--for the meatloaf dinner and the lobster roll--were rather large. Definitely more meat and lobster than we expected! The vegetables that came with the meatloaf were a little overcooked, and the parmesan fries we requested with the lobster roll were actually a bit overflavored (unless you like super strong parmesan and herb flavor) But, the lobster roll itself was really good, clearly made with pretty fresh, real lobster. My dining companion reported that the bacon-wrapped meatloaf was very tasty, and I believe him, since I didn't get a taste of it despite the large amount he started with! :) On a different occasion we tried the steak frites and mango habanero chicken wings. The steak was just fine, nothing spectacular but no complaints (according to my dining partner), but the wings were a bit slimy. Definitely not cooked the way hot wings normally are before adding the sauce. The flavor of the sauce was good, and they would have been rather tasty with a less slimy texture. The breakfast is your typical hotel breakfast. Not bad at all, especially if you received little tickets for free breakfast in the morning when you checked in. We tried the house margaritas twice, and while both were good, the sizes varied for the same price. I never like that, because I enjoy knowing what I'm going to get if I've ordered something before. Of course, I felt like I missed out the first time, when they were much smaller. Overall, the pros and cons of this place have balanced out to an A-OK 3 stars. Will I be back? Very likely, if I'm staying at Loon again, since it's the most convenient option. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No, because there are some lovely little restaurants in Lincoln that I would chose first. read more

All of the food we ordered was amazing!! So Contradictory to their prior low rating reviews. We ordered Mussels, Spinach artichoke dip w pita chips, Rib Eye, Prime rib, Spicy fried chicken sandwich, Falafel Bowl, Chicken Caesar Salad. The Mussels had chopped up chorizo in the sauce and when we finished all the mussels, we continued to eat up all the delicious sauce/broth like a hearty soup! The steaks were juicy, seasoned (not bland or over salted) & cooked medium rare perfectly. The chicken was juicy and tender and also seasoned deliciously. The falafel also was perfectly flavored and crispy on outside, moist inside. All the vegetables were fresh, zucchini &squash perfectly cooked, not over done& mushy like other places. Service was perfect too! The host was very accommodating and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We checked into the hotel. It was raining. What to do for dinner. Well, we checked out the menu and decided to take a chance. We are very glad we did. We chose the Tapas style dinner for two. There were many choices so my wife chose two and I chose another two. We chose to share and finished up with a dessert. We are very glad we did. The food was served in ample portions and when all was said and done we both really enjoyed our dinner. The dessert was ice cream and strawberry rhubarb pie, again there were many other choices, but this is what we chose and it was great! Had dinner here 3 times with my family while spending vacation week at The Mountain Club...btw, we really enjoy this resort...anyway, out of all the meals we've had the only questionable one was the Bangers Sandwich, skip this one. However, the ribeye or the scallops are hits!!! The Scallops were some of the best I've ever had! The kids meals are sizable and tasty while the entrees are a bit pricy but worth every penny. While staying at the resort opt to stay put and eat here. Never very crowded and we love the leather seats...very comfy and makes you feels like you are eating at a high end place. We would have given 5 stars but the service was not the best, though completely acceptable! We also liked listening to the live music! read more

You probably wouldn't go out of your way to eat here unless you stay at the hotel, especially without the incentive coupons they give you at the front desk. But, if you do go, you probably wont be unhappy. On one occasion we got the honey mustard chicken fingers and they were surprisingly crispy and good. I got a ribeye steak, and while it wasn't a prime cut of meat, it was cooked nicely and had nice onions and red potatoes. If I could give zero I would. This place is inside the Mountain Club at Loon Mt. We purchased a room package that included free breakfast for our 2 night stay. The first morning we went for breakfast and it was literally inedible, even the coffee was gross. The breakfast was buffet style served by two employees. The egg skillet was so disgusting and completely cold. The bacon, cold and limp, the bread pudding looked like it was curdled and was horrendous. The only thing edible was the orange juice and quasi fresh fruit. Needless to stay we did not use the voucher for the 2nd day. On the evening of our second night we thought we would go for a late evening drink after we returned from dinner in town. I asked for a drink menu for wife and a wine list for me. They didn't have either, said it was because of covid. Every restaurant we went to had a drink menu and wine list. How do you order a glass of wine if you don't know what they have to offer? I walked out with a can of beer to back to the room for me and my wife opted to pass. All the reviews for this place were horrible but were old. We were hoping things had improved since the last review in 2014, clearly not. P.S. Seasons and The Black Diamond Grill are in essence the same. Right next to each other and prepared from the same kitchen. Hence why the reviews for both places are really bad. They really need to find a different staff and chef.
