We've just finished our first season with Black Diamond. Joe and his crew are courteous, professional and overall have done a great job. They were at my house each week taking care of our lawn and have done especially an excellent job with the fall clean up. We have many trees on our property and Joe and his crew came by two times as he said they would and cleaned up so nicely. Impressive! Dont waste your time. Guy told me to call him back a couple days before the first storm to do snow removal for my grandparents. Called him left a voicemail. Nothing. Tried again next day . Nothing. Not a good impression. read more

Black Diamond has done a number of large projects for us including a large field stone retaining wall, patio, irrigation and full yard/lawn reconstruction. They also recently conducted a full reconstruction of our driveway complete with granite cobble apron, drains/drainage wells and cobblestone trim (they subcontracted out the paving). We experienced excellent craftsmanship with the stonework, and good oversight by the senior staff. Prices are on the higher side, which in my experience, is what's required for first class work. I have came across many landscaping companies and black diamond is by far the best! Joe the owner is very efficient he comes and checks in, his replies are timely and he is very flexible for our needy family. Haha he has separate teams that specialize in curtains task and each team that I have seen work fast and get the job done beautifully. I have been doing business with Black Diamond for years.We have a very small driveway that needs to be dug out by hand and when there is too much snow using a bobcat.His team always did a great job.They charge by the inch of snowfall andcan be expensive. He also cleared the very large drive way of my neighbor. I had 4 large witch hazel bushes planted in the back yard last year. One has several dead branches; about 1/2 the bush and the others are just fine. Joe explained the warranty (nursery's not his) is for ninety days and does not cover the tree over winter. Since I was buying a smaller one I decided to move the damaged one -- cut the dead branches and plant a new larger one in its place. Joe is always pleasant and professional. They did a great job planting the bushes; I watched them and guided their placement. read more

If I could give less than one star to these guys, I would. Here's my story: I was out of town when a Nor'Easter hit and got a referral from a friend that they would come by and clean the driveway. They: - Gouged me on the price (I'm embarrassed to say what they quoted me) - Then charged me 20% more than was quoted!!!! - Plowed--and salted--my yard - Pushed all the snow into the walkway - Damaged both my front steps and the patio off the driveway I came home and had to spend 90 minutes outside shoveling and cleaning up their mess. Obviously unhappy, I put multiple calls in to discuss, and no response from Joe--or anyone else. I would recommend you avoid doing business with them. Disaster. read more

I had eight rhododendron's planted by Black Diamond. Almost immediately they began to die. I dealt with the owner of Black Diamond, Joe Cusce. He came out several times to look at the dying bushes. He agreed it was not an issue of watering too much or not enough. Bushes were dying one branch at a time while the rest of the bush looked healthy. I don't know if he used diseased or infested bushes or if he planted them in an inappropriate location. He promised several times to make it right by replacing the bushes or replanting with different bushes. He never did and does not return calls or emails. I will never do business with them again. Be very wary if you choose to do business with Black Diamond. read more

We hired Black Diamond last summer to completely revamp our overgrown back yard. Joe and his team were outstanding--they turned what looked like a jungle into a magazine-worthy back yard. Recently, a tree fell in our yard due to a storm so we immediately called Joe. Not only did he pick up his phone on the 4th of July but he had his men there Monday morning and within minutes, you could not tell that anything happened. Not even 1 wood chip remained.
