Rented skis from here on my weekend trip to Dillon and the employee was so incredibly friendly and helpful. I told him I was a beginner and he set me up with shorter skis at $25/day because "it's all about having a good time" and can confirm I had a great time!! Also got a helmet for an additional $8/day. Rating: 1 star Return: absolutely not. Time stamp: March 2021 Pros: I learned not to come here. Cons: Lets begin with the lack of organization in the shop. There were boots and skis thrown everywhere. It's like I went to my friends dirty closet to borrow equipment. Our group had nowhere to stand. (I have no idea why nobody else is writing about this in Yelp. It was pure chaos in there). Being that there lacked any organization, Tom had no idea if he had my size boot. So when he handed me a size 8, it was a men's. Hi, I'm a woman Tom. So I asked for a women's size 8. Our group paid for our gear and he still hadn't given me a women's 8. I waited and another group arrived. He gave up on my boots and began with the next group. Not good customer service. I physically went looking for my own boots in that dumpster he has back in the shop. I ended up renting from the resort. So yes, I paid for boots and never got any. Time was running out and I left to board. My brothers binding broke on his 2nd run. Like another review said, you get what you pay for. Although this shop is a lot cheaper than other places, I cannot recommend this place at all. My recommendations: 1. Organize clutter 2. Buy new equipment 3. Handle agreed payment correctly read more

I was on my way to the mountain to go snowboarding and I needed a shop to tune and wax all my snowboards for the next day and I found this shop while scouting on google. Tom was excellent, he was able to get all my snowboards all waxed and tuned. The results of his work were evident and done to perfection! I have never experienced a better tuning in my life! As a result, I will be coming here every time to get my boards waxed and tuned. Do not hesitate on this place and be sure to stop by. read more

Cheap prices. You get what you pay for. The boards weren't waxed. Boots look like they have never been cleaned. Equipment was worn and dated. My friends toe strap was broken (we didn't realize until we were at the ski mountain). Employee at the rental shop let us know this place was notorious for renting out faulty equipment. Ended up having to buy a new toe strap from the rental shop. When we went to return the equipment, black diamond was closed. So my friend ended up never getting a refund for the strap he purchased. read more

My family of 4 rented skiis packages over Christmas break in 2022. At resort we found that 3 of 4 sets of skiis had broken bindings that the ski shop would not even attempt to repair. The ski shop said the skiis were over 15 years old and a customer there said the bindings were at least 20 years old. Ski shop said they see this a lot from Black Diamond. Since we couldn't ski resort, thankfully, reissued our lift tickets and we returned skiis. Black Diamond's owner was not surprised and just refunded our money. He may be friendly but his equipment is junk. Call resorts and speak with ski shop and ask about Black Diamond if you don't believe this post. We went to Loveland. read more

One of the nicest guys I've met! Tom owns and operates black diamond ski rental shop in Georgetown. He was extremely friendly and very accommodating of our needs. It's pretty obvious that he loves to help people have a good time on the slopes! He upgraded my board free of charge and was extremely quick and efficient getting us out and on our way. My daughter and I spent the day in Loveland skiing. Both of us were pretty rusty....she got a snowboard and I got skis. Tom got us in and out very quickly, and 15 minutes later we were on the slopes :-) We had a great time....I found out however... after having a great cautious day skiing the green runs..that the old saying..."God made dirt and dirt don't hurt" is a big fat lie. When I rode across a nice patch of dirt, doing about 20 mph, expecting to just glide across it........it was like hitting an elephant...I got thrown off my skis and banged into the mountain. Luckily Tom had convinced me and my daughter the importance of renting safety equipment, and we both had helmets on and it saved my bacon - Thanks Tom :-) Dan read more

Rented snowboards, skis and boots over spring break. On the one hand, I was thankful that they had anything available since it was a pretty busy weekend. On the other, the boots were really worn, the ratchet straps on the snowboard were impossible to tighten and made riding a real drag. The buckle on my friend's ski boot broke completely off. This store has posted hours of 8a-5p. I arrived before 430p and the open light was on but the door was locked. There was a posted sign to call the owner who was only five minutes away. The owner didn't respond to two phone calls or a text (the number is a cell number). After biking 40 miles I was relying on their store to be open but it wasn't. read more

I found this place on Groupon and was excited to give it a try. I arrived around 2pm on a Friday. There was a sign in the window that said open but the door was locked. There was another sign that said to call the owner if you needed a rental- he was only five minutes away. I ended up calling him several times and it went straight to voicemail each time. After thirty minutes, I gave up and continued to drive to the mountains without renting. It is strange to me that this business chooses to operate like this, especially on a Friday afternoon during ski season. Overall, this was a bizarre experience. read more
