The back room at this low key location has a show room with a car collection that belongs to the building owner and is available for viewing on weekends only. So I needed coffee after just landing and this placed looked good. I try to give coffee shops multiple chances before actually singing their praises however - the reviews hype this place up accordingly for the items they have. It is a smaller cafe and limited pastries, this should not deter you from trying there items. My fiancée grabbed a muffin and we ate it before I can get a nice photo. This was my first time trying this place and I got the holistic latte and my fiancée got the Spanish latte. I want to note - if you're someone who likes a stronger coffee please request an additional shot, as the drinks are more flavorful based on the type of latte you get. However if you're new like me and unsure, you can more than likely go in and get an extra shot and it would be no problem :) if you're a coffee person who loves supporting your local cafes, give them a shot you won't regret it. I do want to note a few things, have a chitchat with the staff very helpful and you're a learn about where they started from. The second, there is no public bathroom. read more

during my mission to try local coffee shops in long beach, i saw this place have high reviews and wanted to check it out! i came here on a wednesday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all, and there is a dedicated parking lot and plenty of street parking for ease. the worker was super nice and helpful in answering my questions. i ordered the lava me, which was a house made lavender syrup espresso, and i absolutely LOVED this drink! the coffee was suuuuper smooth, and the lavender flavor was really yummy and not overpowering. very addicting drink! i would definitely love to try the other flavors if i was ever in the area again. read more

My review is simply based on the coffee. I ordered just a very simple American with half and half with sugar in the raw. The coffee tasted day old. My opinion... I use to work as a barista and just call me picky but I didn't care for it. My friend got a latte it was ok. Again this is my experience. Nice establishment esthetic cool vibe and surprisingly quite a few customers in my hour and a half visit. But if I'm purely judging based on the coffee ? Not good. My favorite place for a great cup of coffee in Long Beach. Down to earth staff, friendly and fast. It seems like even the customers are on the same vibe. Welcoming, relaxed and friendly. They used to sell their coffee out of an industrial warehouse across the street where they roasted as well. Then they had the cart out in front of this location, then they finally moved inside and have a proper indoor coffee bar. It is fancy inside with a clean, crisp design. Very intentional. They still roast their coffee here at this location as well. The quality, taste and prices of the coffee have never changed. No upcharges for alternative milk or no upcharges for additional syrups. Everything is very reasonably priced and just feels fair. We can't say enough about them. For parking, there is a small parking lot out front which can fit around 4-6 cars and then there is parking on the street. It might be hard to find if it's your first time here. Just look for the green wall and the small coffee sign. I kind of like the hidden gem vibe though. Still feels very Long Beach. It doesn't feel overrun by tourists or overcrowded...yet. read more

All of them were great, add in service with a smile and some real character to the location and cart what more can you ask for from your morning Joe. Such a cool coffee spot located in a parking lot located in the industrial area of Bixby Knolls. Apparently, they have another location but we were in the area of this one so decided to stop. The girl working on Saturday morning was great and super friendly. Made the experience that much better. She let us know of the community favorites and her recommendations. I ended up taking her advice and ended up ordering the 007. It was a shaken espresso with agave and oat milk. I was kinda hesitant because I thought it would be strong but I was fooled. It was amazing! Not too strong and not too sweet. Apparently, the peanut butter latte that my family ordered was delicious and we have talked about going back. So if you are in the area and need a quick cup of Joe, I highly recommend to make the stop. Finally got a proper cup of coffee after driving from the San Gabriel Valley to Long Beach--because let's be honest, Long Beach just has more of a coffee culture. Back home it's mostly Vietnamese coffee, which I love... but one of those almost sent me into an anxiety spiral with the caffeine, so I needed something more civilized this morning. This spot hit the mark. Low-key location, easy in and out, no crowds--just coffee. The people were friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. While I was sitting there browsing and trying to smell the coffee through the little vent like a weirdo, they casually mentioned the beans had been roasted yesterday. That told me everything I needed to know. Started with a drip--simple, solid, priced right. Then I rolled the dice on a peanut butter latte, which most places completely mess up. This one didn't. Still tasted like coffee, not a melted candy bar. I also grabbed some ceremonial matcha green tea powder to go, which was legit and not an afterthought. Behind the shop there are some race cars or high-end sports cars tucked into a garage space, which was kind of perfect. This is the third coffee shop I've seen operating out of a garage setup, and honestly, if that's how you keep rent down and spend the money on good beans (or fast cars), I respect it. You can also see the roasting machine while you wait, which is always cool. They've got a couple of benches outside if you want to sit and actually enjoy your coffee instead of chugging it in traffic. Bottom line: good coffee, good people, no ego. You can taste the flavor of the coffee and the agave syrup as sweetener is chef's kiss! The hours aren't the greatest since they close early but if you're a morning person should be no problem. Today was our first time visiting, we came from Vegas to come visit this place and it was beautiful. If you like cars and coffee come here it's a simple modern aesthetic, the coffee was really good the matcha was good will definitely ask for it sweeter if you're a sweet tooth person. I was pleasantly surprised that Black Dog doesn't charge extra for milk alternatives. They also don't charge extra for any of their syrup options as well. My matcha ended up being really pleasant. I am so glad I had the opportunity to check this place off my list of must tries in Long Beach! I almost passed right by it because I didn't realize that it is a small coffee cart, not a brick and mortar. First of all, the biggest selling point of this place for me is that they don't up-charge for nondairy milks. This makes such a huge difference in even being able to afford getting coffee more often! They also offer oat, almond, and soy milk, and have agave as an option instead of honey, making this place super vegan friendly! I got an iced almond milk latte with less milk. It was very tasty! I only say that because I really wanted a Strawberry Matcha but the closest thing they had was "Sweet Little Hulk." How cute is that name by the way???
