I finally decided to try Ground Hideout Coffee and will definitely be back! The aesthetic is super cute and cozy with lots of natural light, plants, and comfortable seating. I placed a pickup order and it was ready in about 15 minutes. I stopped by around 1 PM, which seemed to be one of their busiest times. The employees looked super busy, and they may have been a little understaffed, but everyone was still friendly, calm, and professional. My food was ready first and the drinks came shortly after. Both the food and coffee were a solid 9/10 -- everything tasted fresh and delicious. It was definitely worth the wait. The only thing to keep in mind is parking. It appears to be mostly metered street parking, and I got lucky because the meter I parked at still had time left on it. Overall, great coffee, great food, and a really cute atmosphere. Ground hideout coffee is a coffee shop on the corner of E 4th street with indoor and outdoor seating. I came here with my family of four to grab a quick bite before a road trip. The staff was friendly and able to make some good recommendations. I got the sunrise sandwich and cookie butter latte. The cookie butter latte came with a biscoff cookie on top which made it look really cute. It was not overly sweet which I appreciated. The sunrise sandwich had a house made habanero jam which provided a good amount of heat. The arugula was a nice fresh ingredient addition atop the crispy bacon. There's something so charming about this quaint little coffee shop. The ambient music set the tone, and the soft rhythm of Spanish being spoken around me made the whole experience feel like a quiet escape. I ordered the honey pistachio latte and avocado toast. The latte was rich and flavorful, with bits of pistachio that gave it both texture and the perfect kick to start my day. The avocado toast was fresh and satisfying. I added bacon, and you could smell it being cooked right there, warm and inviting. My Southern taste buds did wish for just a touch more salt, but overall it was still delicious. While it's a nice cup of cap, it's very smooth taste of espresso while I like mine to be more espresso forward cap. I came in for their Winter Series! I ordered their Matcha Grinch Latte drink (not sure if that was the name since it was handwritten and not on the printed out menu.) My friend got the campfire latte, and while I don't drink coffee, I can confidently say that this place does not serve good matcha. It tasted closer to chocolate milk than actual matcha. I'm sure they have better drinks, but for anyone else, stay away from the matcha if you want to save your 7 dollars. I don't know what people are writing about when they say rude service... I think they must have been the rude ones and not the people working there. The staff were very friendly and even checked on me after I started eating. The lady taking my order said she makes the vanilla syrup for the cloud coffee herself and they have single origin beans so the coffee is strong and tasty. I came here on a Saturday morning after a workout. It's a cute coffee shop located right on the corner. It's a family run business as you can tell by the photos on the wall. This spot was on our way to the parking lot we were headed to, so we made a quick stop. For starters, it's a very stylish, and well decorated space with plenty of natural light! From the start, the service was very friendly, and I really got great energy from all the employees who worked there! The food and coffee was the real highlight for me though. Decided to work remote from a cafe here in the city of Long Beach and found Ground Hideout Coffee on Yelp. They have their own WiFi, a couple tables outside as well as some tables inside. Unfortunately no power outlets outside but there's power outlets inside. The street (4th street) is pretty busy so be prepared for lots of noise outside. I ordered the Strawberry Cloud Matcha and the foam on top is light with good flavor. Would definitely recommend coming here, parking is going to be metered on the street as far as I know there is no parking lot for this spot. Had a very unpleasant experience here recently that I'm really bummed about because the coffee is delicious, in fact, I give that 5 stars, this review is specifically about the customer service. I subscribed to their points program via Fivestars and the app on my phone showed me I had a buy one get one 50% off promotion available so I figured why not use it? Not only did they not honor it, they were extremely rude about it--as if me even bringing it up was an affront. I tried to inquire as to why and was interrupted with a very curtly delivered answer. It was clear they just wanted me and my offending promo out of there. That interaction left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately I won't be going there anymore. Thankfully there are no shortages of amazing non-Starbucks coffee places here in LB so I'll be able to support another great local business and still get my caffeine fix. A piece of non-solicited advice to the proprietors of this place though - Be kind.
