I've been here multiple times and their food never disappoint. I love everything that I've ordered so far. I had their Elk burger, Colorado burger (current favorite), Mountaineer salad and other breakfast stuff. Their prices are reasonable and the amount and quality of food that you get. The staff are very friendly. They have the non-commercialized type of fountain sodas and pre-packaged desserts. They also have European grocery stuff for sale and they make cheese boards for catering. So, why the 4 star? This place is super small during rush hour, so it gets too tight and just uncomfortable. If you are claustrophobic I suggest that you call in ahead and just get it to go. Which I would prefer to do majority of the time. read more

I have had rough experiences every time I go. But my sister who lives close by and eats there a ton loves their food! I guess I just need her to order for me. The fresh chips are really good. And it's best to go on a day with nice weather because there isn't much seating inside. read more

Everything was fantastic and very fresh! It took us 5 minutes to decide because everything sounded so good. My wife got the BLT with some of the thickest bacon I've ever seen. I got the Muffaletta and it was awesome. Great portions. You could probably share unless you're really hungry. read more

First, please note their hours as they close at 4 pm on Saturdays. That said, they have great service (even when they've not quite gotten an order right, they've come from across the street I'm being served a complimentary glass of Australian Moscato by the staff!) They have great soups, sandwiches, and (be careful with your waistline) desserts. You don't pay for ambiance, so don't worry about that. They are just off the freeway about 3 blocks so, if you're on I-25, consider a visit. read more

So....if you know me from reading my reviews, burgers are one of my favorite things but I am PICKY! I think I found the best burger so far in my area (Monument/Colorado Springs)!! Mind you, I am newer to the area and haven't tried too many, since we are mid-pandemic and it's hard to go out to eat. The burger was big and juicy, but didn't seem overly greasy. I am not sure how lean the beef was but that is usually one of my biggest hang ups (too fatty/greasy) and this didn't come off that way. My husband and I both got the blue burger. It comes with sautéed/caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, nice pickle slices and a garlic aioli. I skipped the aioli. I got it on the side but never even used it but my husband liked it. It comes with fries and boy is it a hefty serving. I got sweet potato fries and didn't even pay attention if there was an up charge but they were pretty good. The burger was great! They definitely are not stingy with their portions. There was a lot of blue cheese. It was a thick burger! It came on a toasted brioche bun. I forgot to take the pic with the bun, sorry! Trust me, it was a good bun with great flavor too. We will definitely be going back for the burgers again!! We did get some cookies. GF Choc chip for me and regular choc chip for the hubs. Not good. I would not recommend them. They were very dry with a sandy texture. read more

I didn't know ordering a well done burger would be scorched with carbon. This was take out and again little did I know . I suppose med well your ok. Tater tots were good and big serving . Bacon on the burger also came out like scorched carbon. read more

This place has yet to disappoint! I tried the Tri Lakes Club sandwich, and this thing was MASSIVE. For me at least... I feel like it can easily satisfy 2 people, and it comes with a side of chips. I also had a chai latte which is a bit on the sweeter side but still better than Starbucks. read more

Tiny place, big flavors and servings! We enjoyed the reuben sandwich and the blue cheese burger. The french fries here are extra crispy with a soft middle and piping hot when you get your food. I had a lovely side salad with sweet little peppers and a large caper. Everything was delicious and super filling. It's a very tiny place with maybe Six Tables inside. But they do have outdoor seating and I'm looking forward to dining here in the summer! Inside is also a bit noisy! The staff that we interacted with were all super nice, friendly, and helpful. I'd heard great things about Black Forest Foods from several people to include a foodie friend that I trust. My wife and I met some family members there yesterday and we were highly impressed! The burgers are all the rage. They did not disappoint. They were large and included a massive portion of fries. Maybe the best burger I've had in quite some time. My wife and I split a couple burgers - the Irish Porter and the classic. I loved both but honestly think I liked the classic more than the over the top Irish Porter. It just highlighted how delicious the beef and the thick cut bacon was. The staff was super duper friendly. They were also very helpful. The entire menu sounded great but they obliged my ask of "What's your top three favorite burgers or sandwiches?" Many times people will answer with "It's all good." Which I don't find helpful. I can't wait to get back to try more of their delicious food and pastries. Don't make assumptions about how the place looks. I think naming it Black Forest Foods was intentional because they'll soon be your stomach's BFF. read more

Always great service and the food is awesome. We eat there about once a month and while my husband tries many things (and I take a bite), I tend to always gravitate to the french ham and brie on a baguette. It is sooooo delicious. This place does a really high quality food and coffee service, and portions of foods are huge. The food here is amazing. Packed solid during the lunch hour. There is a reason for that. It is because the locals love Black Forest. Staff here are well trained and friendly, but they do get busy so be patient and nice to them. It's hard to describe everything, but the fries are incredible and the breakfast burrito with tots in there is off the hook. The salads, burgers and fries have traditionally been amazing. Today we tried the breakfast burrito and kids chicken strips. Burrito was huge but seems like it was made in a hurry since there was a lot of cheese and not all of it was melted. Wouldn't recommend it. The service is always fantastic at Black Forest. Bistro. The ambience is quiet though unusual as it is set in an older home. The cocktails are fantastic and the menu is delicious. It is one of the rare places near Colorado Springs where you can get great seafood. We have had a couple of off nights, where service or food hasn't been optimal, but we always recommend people give it a try. read more

This place is amazing and food very delicious! They put an effort to source high quality foods and their portions are generous. If you're hungry you will get full. Their outdoor seating is nice to enjoy the weather on a nice day. The staff is very polite and the owner is present and very nice. They smoke high quality proteins on-site. They also sell some high quality produce and other items you can take with you if you need it. They make great coffees and also serve a variety of drinks. I've had multiple times where employees go out of their way to make our experience better. The only bone I have to pick, is the seating inside is very low. Ruben sandwich and Irish porter Burger were great, very hearty. Loved the pancetta on the Irish burger. You'll need a knife and fork for that burger! Lox croissant wasn't so good, little fish, lots of capers and a strange bread. I don't think it was a croissant, but either way it was dry. Tzatziki is a standout, I am guessing they make it in-house because it is very flavorful, lots of dill. Greek salad was excellent as well, pairing nicely.
