I tried to ask someone one time where the tasting room is and they weren't very friendly. But now it is very clearly marked and I was easily able to find it on my own this time. You can tell it's been newly remodeled. My friends and I decided to do the tasting. All of us like white wine only. They have a few selections but of course the one I really wanted to try wasn't available that day. And that was ok. They gave me 6 tokens to give one each time i wanted my next tasting. Well sine they didn't have one of the wines I wanted and white wine was more limited I asked if I could turn in two chips for two tastings of the same wine. And I did this also so I didn't have to come in and bother them as soon for another pour of the same thing. I was told they don't do that .... But then they did. It just doesn't make sense to me. I also was trying to be nice and I just felt like she was wasn't super friendly. This place has a gorgeous set up outside. They have nice comfy seating or high top tables which overlook the rolling green hills. This time of the year is absolutely beautiful. I can see the warmer months not being as pretty because I'm sure everything turns brown. I also loved watching the animals down below. The scenery was so majestic. I will definitely be back again. This will probably be on my list of "must visits" every time I visit Cambria. There are just certain places you that you always remember and must go back to, and this is one of them for me.

When we were planning this trip months ago, I discovered Jada was celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a Wine Dinner. What a wonderful way to enjoy wines, paired with amazing dishes, and an evening with beautiful surroundings! We met the original family and the new family owners of Jada along with staff members. Everyone was very friendly! The GM Josh (son from the OG family), Winemakers, and staff have stayed on thru the transition. In addition, the new owners have acquired another winery close by and plan to open a restaurant and sister the two wineries! Double the tastes? We were very fortunate to be offered many library wines and older vintages. SawBones (Syrah-Cab Blend) remains my personal favorite but many of their wines are just too good not to bring home for future enjoyment. Their blends are amazing along with their WSC Cabernet (98 points). We really liked the Viognier and bought several bottles, and we rarely buy whites! One of the whites wasn't good at all and I had to ask for a new glass so I wouldn't taint the next sample. But you're probably not going to like them all. That's the fun part! I enjoyed learning about the Austin Hope winery and its origins. I felt like they grew in popularity quickly and threw up some barns to accommodate the crowds. For example, the bathroom wasn't well constructed as when people slammed the door shut, the walls shook. I can't imagine how the walls would shake if someone had a blowout here. Even with some of the downfalls, this was my favorite winery and I wish I could get some of the wines without joining the club. The commitment is too much and shipping is also high, so it's not worth it. The GSM was my favorite and if I ever see it somewhere, Ima get me some!

Exterior seating seems very private with large shrubs acting as walls. THE BLACK AND WHITE: We came here on our last stop before heading back to our airbnb. We had a reservation and were seated in the intermediary room that had a very dark ambiance and high ceilings. A wine tasting here offered 5 tastings. The service was very nice and said if we wanted to taste anything else then they'd be happy to let us sample. Now that's how you close a potential sale. I always see the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon in stores and was curious about how good their reserve is. spoiler, it is very good. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A wine tasting here is around $25 and the bottles range from $50+. I love Austin Hope's wine. Definitely a must visit and I will be back next time I'm in Paso.

Bob Dunning hosted us and one other person for a tasting on the patio outside the tasting room. It was a beautiful, crisp day and a perfect time and place for tasting the wines. We enjoyed the opportunity to sit and talk with Bob about the wines and his experiences operating the vineyards for over 30 years.

It is a bit hotter than the inside, but that's because it has more sunlight hitting the room. For the wine tasting, we got one white and three reds. Makes sense since we were in Paso and they're famous for their big bold reds. I did enjoy their cabernet sauvignon the most in the tasting, however the puors were less than an oz, which was just enough to get a sip in. I was disappointed in that especially as a potential buyer looking to get understand the wine a bit more than a two sipper. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A wine tasting of four wines with a very miniscule tasting pours was around $40.
