Just driving and looking for a place to eat dinner when we passed the Black Label Tavern and decided to give it a try. It was empty inside which made me a bit nervous, but our experience was great. The food took a little bit long to come out, but that would be my only complaint. I got the Southwest Roasted Salad with grilled chicken instead of fried chicken and I got the chipotle ranch dressing which was awesome. The salad was huge and so much of it came home with me. My friend got the Chicken Caesar wrap and it was large and came with fries. He really liked his wrap and took half home. The fries were really good. We would definitely come here again. read more

We pass this place all the time and this time we had a birthday to celebrate so we decided to come here. Everything was great!! Service was great considering we were a party of 14! Everything came out at the same time and was delicious! My steak with sweet potatoes was amazing! Those fries were perfection! Also tried the mushroom pasta and that was delicious as well. If you are looking for a Sunday morning brunch buffet, check this place out! The food changes every week so there's something new to try. From staples like scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, fruit, they also do salad, pasta salad, sliders, baked mac and cheese, hot pockets... they have an omelette station so eggs can be made to order as well as crepes. $25, They take of it well, it's clean, the chefs are super friendly. Great location but the spotty service and unremarkable food makes us drive farther to other restaurants.

We went in around 1:30 on a weekday. There were maybe 4 customers in the place. Took a half hour to get our food. The food was lackluster. We had chicken wraps which were pretty bland and drenched in mayo. By the way: ditch the slices of cheese and get some shredded cheese. The fries weren't any better. The food was barely warm. A great looking restaurant but the service and food need a lot of work. read more

Had a great experience today with my daughter! I was so surprised they had a kids menu, kids cup, and crayons to color!!! I also had a great Chicken Club 10/10 recommend, and beer battered fries sooo yum. Definitely recommend coming here. read more

I stopped by Black Label Tavern for a quick lunch with my sister and was really hoping to enjoy it, but overall, it just wasn't for me. On the bright side, the drink was tasty and the spinach dip was a nice start. When it came to the main dishes, things didn't come together. The mac and cheese was more on the soupy side and didn't have the rich, cheesy flavor I was expecting. I added brisket, which was a bit tough and reminded me more of corned beef in both taste and texture. I also tried the steak bites, which were a little chewy, and the miso mushroom sauce didn't quite complement the dish for my taste.The staff was kind and doing their best, but they did seem a little stretched during our visit. All the stars are for the ambiance, location and great place to meet up at. The one lost star was for the food. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad, it just was underwhelming. The fish and fries were certainly plentiful but the batter did not stay with the fish making it difficult to eat. The Brewben sandwich was OK but the bread was very soggy...not sure where that came from, maybe the sauerkraut? Not a deal breaker but from my own personal point of view I really don't like it when I order a margarita and it is served in a water glass. I feel like the proper glass that goes with the drink helps to make the overall experience pleasant. The margarita was OK. Mom's beer was served in a proper glass and it was served chilled so spot-on service for her drink. Our server was very accommodating and pleasant. First time@ Black Label and was glad we stopped. Clean and modern with high tops and 1/2 booths. Service was good and the manager stopped by a couple of times to make sure everything was right. Happy Hour house wines 4$ and domestic bottles 3.50. They have a great cocktail list. Pomberry salad was fresh and well garnished. Steak Frites with truffles fries were good portion. The Steak was slightly overcooked for medium rare but the manager solved the problem. Great customer service. Started with the Burrata Caprese and it was presented nicely with great taste. Went on a Sunday during the Lions game and got front row seats at the bar! They also have a breakfast bar on Sunday mornings so I highly recommend going during a game. Our bartender was great & served a heavy pour!! read more

She brought back a gin and tonic and dripped the drink across the table enough that you could use a straw to drink it off the table. She never wiped it up. The glass had a crack in it and came with a lemon when I asked for lime. The dirty martini wasn't dirty- you can look at martini and tell if it's dirty or not. She forgot the second gin and tonic for a long while. I'm not generally petty but I don't understand why someone would be a waitress but not ensure the orders were right before bringing to the table. There was nothing special about the food - I had a chicken sandwich and fries. The pizza was made wrong but they still sent us home with the mess up and they paid for it too. But the pizza was out after the table was done eating so my friend ate alone. Mistakes happen it's fine. I don't have any desire to come back except for the ambience. Maybe when they have a band I'd go back but maybe try sitting at the bar? read more

I made a reservation for my husbands birthday for 10. One person in our party ordered truffle fries, the other ordered burrata both of which didn't come out until 15 minutes after the other 8 guests received their food. The reason was "it wasn't seen on the ticket" We received food but no silverware so we had to go to the host stand to get it ourselves. The worst part for me is that the restrooms did not have a changing table to change my son's diaper. We will not be back. read more

Interior is. 5 out of 5. The bar area and the light up wall made for a great atmosphere. Service was also 5 out of 5. Our waitress was very great and kept checking back on us. Two people in the party got the prime rib dip which looked amazing. Fish and chips look good as well The south west roasted salad was very good, with the one negative being the breaded chicken that it came with. It was compared to a banquet chicken breast patty. The shrimp tacos were good, I expected the shrimp to be grilled for a taco but it was fried in rice paper I believe which was tasty but unexpected. We decided to come back so we could check out the food. This place was totally packed! Unfortunately, they started off with only 1 bartender. Service was very slow. They did get another one when the night went on. They had a couple of hiccups but it's a brand new business and it's going to take some time. We both ordered chicken and we both thought it was delicious! Their Happy hour is from 3-6 and they have some amazing deals. We were also pleasantly surprised by the prices and food choices. We came on a Tuesday night for my birthday around 5:30 and got a table right away. We ordered drinks and husband asked the server what was on the happy hour list and so he ordered a Jolly Pumpkin beer that we were told was on happy hour (it was not). I got the strawberry sunrise which is a signature drink and it was pretty good. We ordered the baked Mac and cheese bites, which were amazing!! Then I ordered the stuffed fiochetti and husband got the prime rib dip. We both enjoyed our dishes but didn't think they were super amazing. Overall we enjoyed our experience and will be back to try some of the other dishes. read more

So ill start by saying, what a let down. Nobody greeted us at the door for almost 10 minutes. When we almost walked out someone finally got us our table. There was only a couple tables in the restaurant, and it still took 25 minutes to get our food. I ordered the truffle smash burger, which was not good. The mushrooms tasted spoiled and the burger patties were almost burnt. My wife had the bourbon chicken, she found it bland and boring and the chicken was overcooked to hell. We were also thrown off that the French onion dip was cold and tasted like a homemade sour cream and onion dip! The food was put in wrong, our drinks weren't filled, the wrong food came out and they didn't make it right, no silverware, no napkins, we didn't get checked up on unless we called down the bartender. Waitress was very friendly but it took forever to get out food. We ordered three appetizers and it took over 20 minutes to get our plates and the restaurant was not busy. We've started to hesitate to order from there because we know a simple request will throw them off. I was there with husband for quick drinks and food before going to the movie theatre. We had the nachos for appetizer which were literally the best nachos I've had in a while with chorizo on top, just hits all the eights spots, delish! I had the southwestern salad with fried chicken and ranch that was really good and very filling and crunchy, chefs kiss! And my husband had the brisket sandwich which also was really good! I highly recommend the sunset cocktail is delish! The service was great and the waitress was super nice. We went on a Friday, relatively early, 6:30 and place is pretty loud when you first walk in, and it was not jammed. Service was ok, but the food came out individually, and not at the same time. The orders were not correct for one of us, and all 3 of us received cold fries. Then what was to most upsetting, was they took the food back for hot fries, and all they did was toss a few hit ones on top of the cold ones. Horrible. The manager did make an attempt to satisfy us by taking the cost of the fries off, but that is very poor food service. The food is not memorable, our orders consisted of a Cobb salad, steak frietes, burger, and something else. The burgers were a bit over done, and the Cobb salad came out incorrectly. read more

Husband and I went to a movie and decided to give this place another try since it changed ownership Pros: Nice atmosphere, large bar, good menu selection. We stopped in after a 4:30 movie around 6:45. Grabbed seats at bar and it took 10min before anyone came over to ask for drink orders or give menus. Finally ordered drinks, took awhile as service was lacking behind the bar. After having drinks we ordered food. Bartender was missing for a bit with no one behind the bar. Our food order came out and food runner had no idea where it went. We saw her and said, that's ours. Asked for silverware, extra plate, ketchup etc. our drinks were empty for a bit so I asked if we could get a bartender who finally came back. He came back we ordered and it felt like I put out him out asking for an orange for my Blue Moon which I asked for when ordered. I also loaded a bunch of credits on their Touch Tunes jukebox. I noticed my songs weren't playing but were skipping in my play queue so I asked if the Touch Tunes was turned off. If it's not connected they shouldn't have the app connected to load songs and lose credits. The bartender was nice enough to give us a round of drinks to make up for it. Overall....i would say poor management, lack of staff seem to be the issue. Might give a second chance but beware if you are looking for quick service and attentive bartenders. read more

Let me start by saying they replaced a favorite restaurant of mine. So that is a little tough for Black Label. They did keep almost 100% of the decor, same beautiful Barleycorns bar. Decent menu, a few vegan options but pretty meat heavy. I had steak frites the wife had some steak pasta dish, both were good. Service was decent but, as usual we sat at the bar so take that for what it's worth. Full tap, full bar. read more

Our first visit to BLT was really great. The food was excellent the service was great. Sadly last night was a complete opposite. The food was horrid the service was awful and to top it off we were overcharged. We cancelled desert having waited over 30 mins for it. The added shrimp to any entree was disgusting and came as shrimp Cocktail at 11.00 not 9.00 as described. Quality of the beer is disappointing. They need a good cellar man. The bar is just too big for only one bar tender. On our first visit we met the owner/boss as she was described. It was evident she was off last night. We won't go back I suggest you avoid the place too. read more

Two of us ordered the same beers and what was delivered were two different beers. 'We thought they looked different' was the explanation but they still delivered them to the table. Had to ask again to bring the correct beer, which still was not the beer we ordered. Food was acceptable, but lukewarm when received (the friend pickles were unique and great). Tried this place on a Sunday night. Walked into an empty restaurant with only one other table, that should've been an indication for us to leave. Drinks were not good, we ordered margaritas and old fashioneds. As for dinner and apps, there was no flavor, and portions were small. Then for dinner had the ribeye, usually a flavorful juicy cut of meat..... again, zero flavor and dry as can be, even when ordered at medium. This place has changed hands to many times and they still haven't gotten it down. Beautiful ambience, it has potential.... But food/drinks need to improve, staff was friendly. read more
