A lot of target golf and hitting to specific landing areas instead of spraying it all over the place from the tee box which is always a fun change of pace. It's a little shorter than your average course but the challenge is in executing the shots. My burger was quite burnt, however. The fries were good though. The amenities are all very thought through. We enjoyed the 10 minute hike we had up to a waterfall that was nearby. It was so peaceful and nice. We actually came for a destination wedding! Not sure how many weddings they do, but we had a great time. Beautiful wedding & no complaints as a guest. Be aware however that I have AT&T and had no signal my whole stay. I relied on WiFi.

Another Independence weekend and another round of golf on the this course for the second year…read morerunning. This is the Sister course to Rumbling Bald and a great golf experience all around. The green fee remains the same at $85 which is $10 more than the other course but I'm not sure why. I had a 750am tee time and the paid me with a couple from Greensboro, the Dysons who had never played it before. We had a great time and the weather was great, though threat of rain in the early afternoon which we missed. There is now food in the clubhouse when they open and you can get breakfast sandwiches and wraps. I had the turkey which was excellent a plenty for a meal. My favorite hole is #14, a 130 yard Par 3 with an elevated tee box. It drops maybe 2 hundred feet to the green. Hope they don't place the pin on the left as you will have a very small bit of green to land your ball.

This is a shot makers course. You don't exactly have to be a long ball hitter, but you better keep it in play. The conditioning is really looking good. Greens roll true, fairways are in good shape, and the rough does its job, just enough punishment to remind you to keep it straight. Where this course shines is in the layout. It is a visually pleasing course. The entire course meanders along the North Fork of the Catawba River. Holes 9, 11, 12, and 13 actually play across either the river or feeder streams, and 7, 8, and 14 play along side the river. Because of the course following the river, it avoids unnecessary elevation changes and has just enough up and downs to keep it very interesting. This is a must play for folks visiting in the mountains.

This is a shoemakers dream. Unlike most mountain courses, this one does not attempt to be so hard it can't be mastered. With a mountain stream running through its entirety bad shots are paid for in golf balls and added strokes. Most courses in the area are dishearteningly difficult with holes carved out if the side of a 45 degree slope. Check out the pictures and you will agree Linville Falls is a great course! Give them your business. 5 star friendly. The clubhouse is not fully stocked and that's the only downfall. I would have bought swag if they had any that's how much I like this course! Hit it straight!

Prices are a bit high for a municipal course, and membership rates are in my opinion exorbitant. Fun fact: A temporary frisbee golf course has been established on the front nine while repairs continue.
