Recently, I seem to have pretty poor luck when it comes to food trucks. This time was different and the winery brought in The Black Pig. First oof, the people were pretty amazing and friendly and helpful and engaged. I know, too many "ands" . I just found that refreshing. They raise and butcher their own pigs...local and you can buy meat from them. The decor is pretty cool and fun...reminds me of a redneck but cool trailer from my days at Talledega. Now the food...amazing pork. I had their take on a BLT and it was amazing. The pulled pork was heavenly, cooked in tallow...the burger was also super tasty from stempole creek with great flavor. The real standout? The fries...cooked in pork talllow and absolutely stunning. Best fries in Sonoma county...hands down. How about them apples? In a pigs mouth ...

I tried the black piglet food truck and was very disappointed. I spent a lot of money for mediocre food.

The BLT is so sumptuous, but I think it's the kimchi bacon dog that takes my heart.

Delicious food, beautiful ambience, and incredible service!…read more We enjoyed our tasty 25 ounce ribeye along with the table side Caesar salad salad. So good! This is a mediocre restaurant with over the top prices. There's a ton of fanfare when you arrive…read more The staff for the most part is friendly. The quality is fair at best. The prices for what you get is ridiculous, and the atmosphere is rustic and western. You would think this was Steak 48 or Mastros looking at the reviews and seeing the prices. They could learn a lot from them. My husband had the ribeye ($95) that was over cooked and burnt tasting. My salmon ($58) was dry and the flavor (tasted pre frozen, not fresh) was lacking. The "wedge salad-".. the menu states "wedge salad" ($26) was very sparse and made with little gem lettuce (5 whole leaves), the summer melon salad ($24) was watermelon cubes with 4 cherry tomato halves with a tiny bit of basil chiffonade with topped with some inexpensive balsamic vinegar. My I had a cosmopolitan which was good, however the waiter suggested my husband try a margarita (found the price was $28.00 when the bill arrived!) . The waiter gave us a lesson in ordering steak. When my husband asked for medium rare plus, he said there is no such thing. He boasted about being a server for 10 years and that there's no such thing. He said it's an insult to the chef. Well we've been to many restaurants and many upscale Michelin restaurants and no one has ever corrected us in how we order our steak temperature. But thanks for your sage advise! I would not recommend this restaurant unless you aren't that interested in quality food. ****In response to you reply Jason, I was genuinely surprised by your response. I have always believed that when writing reviews--whether positive or negative--there is an obligation to be honest, fair, and respectful. Suggesting that my review was "malicious" is both inaccurate and disappointing, as that is simply not my nature. You stopped by our table before we had even eaten our meal, so there was no opportunity at that point to comment on the food itself. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the level of quality or value we expected. Spending $333.67 for a mediocre steak, salmon that did not taste fresh and was poorly seasoned, a few pieces of watermelon and cherry tomatoes, and an unusual five-leaf "wedge salad," along with two drinks, fell well short of what one would expect from a restaurant with San Francisco fine steakhouse pricing. Rather than responding defensively to constructive criticism, I would have hoped for a more thoughtful and professional reply. As business owners ourselves, we understand that not every customer will leave satisfied. We view honest feedback as an opportunity to evaluate our business, improve where necessary, and educate our staff--not as a personal attack. My review was never intended to be malicious. It was simply an honest account of our experience. I hope you will choose to view it as constructive feedback rather than dismissing it outright. I wish you and your team the very best.

Parking is fairly plentiful in the strip mall it's located in. Stepping inside you'll find a nice market with many different products such as produce, a small salad bar, olive bar, groceries and drinks as well as a deli. Everything looked really good quality. We chose two Tuscan veggie sandwiches which were already prepared in the deli case and looked incredible. The helpful deli counter employee recommended that they were best heated up and offered to do so while we looked around. Soon our sandwiches were warm and off we went. The sandwich was delicious. Absolutely a delight to the senses. Visually it was fresh and vibrant. The layers were impressive. The taste, amazing. The olive tapenade, pesto, greens and veggies were delicious. It's been a while since I've had such a delicious sandwich. We both were saying "yum, mmm" with each bite. Epic sandwich. The service was great. I highly recommend Shelton's Natural Foods market.

Cold, processed deli meats with the standard condiments is just not appealing to me. As we were driving through Healdsburg for lunch, my friend's Tesla suggested "Summer's Market & Deli" for a quick bite. The suggested reviews offered "BEST sandwiches" - though I had bias reservations (again, I don't like sandwiches). The shop is located in a neighborhood one mile off the beaten path. There are a couple of wooden picnic tables outside. Upon entering, the store is sparse, with a small ordering counter on the right side, drink fridge in the back and a few local items for purchase on the left side. The menu offered a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. I ordered the "Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich", off the FAVORITES sandwiches menu. It includes a hearty combo of grilled chicken breast, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato on a focaccia roll. WOW - the combination of high-quality ingredients made this one of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had!! Well done Summer! Will definitely recommend to all my friends and look forward to returning when I am in the area.

When you get inside you'll see the varieties of cheeses available which is extensive. A little further in they have a decent sized salad bar with fresh looking veggies and a few prepared salads. There is also a warm items bar in that area. The deli is large and gets quite busy during lunch time. They have a few curated sandwiches on the overhead board or you can make your own. Take a number first if they are busy and order when called. They are pretty quick as our sandwiches were ready in about 5 minutes. I had a giorgi park (vegetarian) sandwich which came as a panini with great flavors and fresh ingredients. SCW had the veggie sandwich which was also really tasty. They have a burrito and pizza line as well. I got a vegetarian super burrito bowl which you can customize. Similar process as chipotle style. Everything looked fresh vibrant. The wine selection is varied and has some appealing options. The middle portion of the store is similarly set up like most grocery stores, cans, waters, cleaning products etc. The produce section is nice with good variety as well. You can find tofu and fake meats near the produce section. The store is clean and well lit. They have tables outside if you choose to eat there. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend giving Big John's Market a try.

If you are looking for the absolute best in Sonoma County for high-end foodstuffs, look no further…read more Big John's Market is essentially a pilgrimage site for anyone who takes their pantry seriously. The store is beautifully laid out and curated with an eye for quality that puts most 'gourmet' chains to shame. The produce is consistently stunning, and the local wine selection perfectly reflects the best of our backyard (Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and beyond). The standouts: * The Deli/Prepared Goods: This is the heart of the operation. The sandwiches are legendary, the pizza is artisanal-grade, and the prepared salads are actually fresh and inventive--not just an afterthought. * The Cheese Section: Simply sublime. It is clear whoever curates this section has a deep passion for local creameries and international classics alike. * The Experience: Despite the high-end inventory, the staff is incredibly friendly and grounded. Plus, in a town like Healdsburg, having a lot with decent parking is a massive luxury that makes the trip even easier. Whether you're stocking up for a dinner party or just grabbing the best lunch in town, this place is the gold standard.
