    Prime Rib

We went here today to stop-in and have a few appetizers while listening to the Jazz. We were planning to eat dinner somewhere else. Yet, my family decided to stay and it was a wonderful decision. Everything was very well-made and incredible quality! I would HIGHLY recommend getting the prime rib Thursday deal. It came with the prime rib, potatoes, salad, and the dessert for $75. I believe that the Bananas Foster was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I will be dreaming about it. The ambiance was wonderful with the live jazz, and the staff did an excellent job of taking care of us!

Booked reservations on a whim- just hours before arriving as had been waiting to try it out. Welcoming staff, very helpful and fun. Got seated in a booth downstairs which was cozy (but they have some tables upstairs with the bar). Ordered an array of items and all exceeded our expectations. 12/10 for drinks, 15/10 for steak tartare (not pictured because we dug in) and 10/10 for table side Caesar and Filet Mignon. If you are a first timer, ask for the salt/sauces to find the best complimenting combo for your steak. It's worth the visit.

The food was great. The had this Spring pre-fixe and it was very good. It included a salad, steak and dessert. The service was attentive and good. The place had a Texas Rangers and cowboy theme, which I liked. I really liked the gold fabric tiles on the bathroom walls.

I will start by saying, they have a local happy hour and bar upstairs?? This is never advertised or talked about haha Prices have gone up SIGNIFICANTLY, I mean $70 to 92 for a 16oz ribeye...... in 10 months?!! We usually get the mash potatoes with the steak and oysters to start. The quality is meat is very very good- chef is top notch, however the continued raise of prices we question... We did not know they had a bar, we even asked the server and he told us no. So it must be a "secret" they keep to pay these high high end prices and not experience the upstairs. We will go upstairs next time.

We knew this recently opened Bill Foley owned steakhouse on the plaza was expensive, but we were treating out of town guests so decided to book. Was surprised that had a lot of reservations available a few hours before dinner on a Friday night. The interior is beautifully designed, including green leather banquettes and a sleek glass elevator to the second floor. The restaurant was empty downstairs at 7:15pm on a Friday night, but they said they had two big parties upstairs. So they gave us the "king and queens table" in the front with a view of the open kitchen. Prices for steaks were high (filet $90, New York $97 and up), all served without sides. Three of us opted for the $80 summer priced fixe menu, which included a choice of starter, main, and dessert. Husband had the chopped wedge salad, but it wasn't a wedge and served in a bowl with bacon, candied walnuts and blue cheese dressing. I had the corn bisque to start, with a corn fritter in center, which wasn't as thick as some I've had a quite sweet and good. Husband had the 8 oz ribeye served in a bowl on top of potato puree and Swiss chard. He loves a rare steak and it was served perfectly. He enjoyed it but thought it was hard to eat in a bowl as you couldn't cut it without getting mixed up in the mash. They need to revert to a plate. I didn't feel like red meat (mistake!) and got the petrale sole meunière with vine ripened tomatos. The fish was quite bland and mushy and not to my liking. Husband liked the fish so maybe it's just my taste as I like a firmer fish. Dessert was fried caramel bread pudding, which was like a deep fried cinnamon roll with a yummy vanilla ice cream. Ice cream was great but cake too large so we boxed it. Adding the tip, plus Parker House rolls (6 to a serving, a bit too toasted) and an $80 bottle of wine, dinner came to nearly $500 for four people. We gorged ourselves at Willi's Seafood (food more to my liking) and I was full at $250 for four. I know there are a lot of wealthy people in Healdsburg and tourists, but Goodnights was too high. The odd thing is that the second floor had about 6 tables of diners plus a lively bar and we would have preferred that to the empty main floor. It was darker upstairs and not bright like the ground floor. Diners looked younger and hipper so maybe that's the preference upstairs. Service was fine and we had several servers bringing out food. The chef stopped by and asked how the meal was and was very nice. If they lowered the prices a bit and offered better non-steak options (e.g, add shrimp, scallop, salmon, or pasta to the menu), we might consider returning. They do have a locals hour mid-week in the upstairs bar, but only a burger and sides on the menu and it's earlier than I eat dinner (4-5:30pm).

We had an awesome dinner last night. Food and service were both outstanding. We had a group of six of us celebrating my son's birthday. Between us, we ordered rolls, tuna tartare and crab cakes as starters. The sauce on the crab cakes was delicious. For entrees most of us had the filet, but we also ordered the tomahawk. The presentation was awesome: came with four sauces and four salts. Every piece of meat at the table was cooked perfectly. For sides we had beans, lobster mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes. All so yummy! Dessert was s'mores, lava cake and bread pudding (my fave). Ireland was a great server. Checking on us often, but also giving us space to enjoy our night. This place is expensive, don't get me wrong, but it's awesome investing in a splurge night when food, drinks, service and atmosphere are all spot on. Can't wait to come back!

Came here on a Thursday to hear some live music and loved it - such a great jazz group. I had eaten big earlier in the day so had some cocktails and apps. Cocktails were both creative and refreshing (though I don't remember the names). Cesar salad and bread rolls were perfect and flavorful. French onion soup was good but small and the mac and cheese was a little too Smokey for my taste. Sat at the chefs counter and had great service. Would come back but may at times feel a little costly for what you're getting.

Went for a Birthday Dinner with friends. Staff were so nice and welcoming from the start. Our server was cheerful and helpful. There was an issue with one of the steaks, but it was fixed right away. I'm not going to say the food was out of the park, but the service made is better than it was. I would go back.

Savoring the Wild West, one sip and bite at a time at Goodnights Prime Steak+Spirits. As you enter, the western charm and hospitality greets you, while the decor sets the perfect ambiance for an unforgettable dining experience. Our server, Ashleigh, was not just a delight; she was our artful liquid chef! She created handcrafted cocktails that tantalized the taste buds! We ordered- "This Ain't Texas," a refreshing custom coconut margarita, an enticing Uncle Nearest whiskey flight, and a (Ashleigh) custom whiskey flight. And...let me tell you, the selection of bourbons and the wonderful wine list left us all wide-eyed and impressed. Those cocktails and drinks were downright superb! Starters--- we ordered crispy fries and refreshing gem salads, perfect to share 'round the table. For my main dish, I couldn't resist the perfectly cooked ribeye paired with velvety potato puree that practically melted in my mouth. Others in our group enjoyed the evening's special, featuring a delightful roasted butternut squash soup, tender steak tartare, the classic steak Diane, and a fried caramel bread pudding that would make the toughest cowboy shed a tear. And... while I was riding solo for dessert, I couldn't pass up the rich chocolate cake and peanut butter-a perfect combination. Staff: Excellent service.

Reserved for our 13th wedding anniversary. Our experience at this restaurant walking in the door was nothing but amazing. The customer service in this restaurant is one of the best experiences we've had in Sonoma county. The food and drinks were great as well couldn't complain about anything we will definitely be coming back soon. Thanks for the anniversary gift goodnight much appreciated.

This is one of our family favorite spots to go to when we make our way to Healdsburg. Located conveniently around the square, Goodnights was a wonderful addition to the area to convince us to drive up more often. For all the times we have been to this restaurant, we have only been seated upstairs. We have immensely appreciated this as it has always been accommodating to my requests for us to be seated conveniently for my grandfather who is in a wheelchair to be able to get around as well as to be seated away from drafts from the door that would annoy my grandparents. The space has always looked clean and warm. When it comes to food, we normally do everything family style where we order a bunch of food and just have everyone share. For the most part, we've found that the prices here are a bit steep but the quality of the food seems to justify the price a little. For appetizers, we've mainly tried the maitake mushrooms and the parker house rolls. The rolls were nice but nothing like the ones you can find at Della Fattoria. As for the Maitake mushrooms, they're thickly battered and lacking in flavor so I'd skip out on it when I return. As for entrees, we always split one bone-in ribeye, their halibut (?), and a few sides. More often than not, this is too much food for five or six of us and we end up taking leftovers home. The steak is always perfectly cooked and delicious. When it comes to the halibut, the fish itself is incredible but the parsnip puree that it comes with started a three month craving for it. Great choices when it comes to entrees! As for desserts, we've had the banana split cup, the baklava, and the sorbet. If they ever bring it back, the banana split was a favorite in our household. The top dessert in our book however would have been the lychee sorbet. It was odd to hear that they would have this flavor but it was mindblowing and tasty. Overall, if you're on a budget, this may not be your spot. If you're looking for a special place for a special occasion where you're willing to spend a little more, this is a wonderful choice to come to.

Getting to see the distilling process up close added a whole new layer to the experience and made everything you taste feel more intentional. The whiskey selection is seriously impressive. I went with a tasting flight, which was a great way to explore their lineup--from smooth, approachable pours to more complex, higher-proof options. My niece told her "don't touch me." This staff person then went inside the restaurant and my niece heard the employee screaming in anger. Incredible that this is how their people treat their customers during a huge event. The owner should be completely embarrassed by their employees' unprofessional and rude behavior. They might want to get their employees some anger management training or better yet hire new ones that have experience in the hospitality industry. Until then, pretty sure we can get good meatballs and lasagna some place else that doesn't treat paying customers like garbage.

First of all, we went on a Monday night and the…read morereservations were fully booked, but we decided to try stopping in, which turned out to be smart, because they could seat us almost right away in the bar dining room, which was spacious and didn't feel like a bar area. They even accommodated my request not to be in sight of the TV. We were with my husband's cousin from Maui, an international traveler/diner, so he wanted to go all out, which meant we ordered the two specials - a dry aged porterhouse (T-bone) and a wagyu steak (not sure which cut), both medium rare. We got the bearnaise sauce and the green peppercorn sauce. I had one bite of each side or the t-bone, so NY and filet mignon, and two bites of the wagyu, which turned out to be my favorite. The reason I only had a those few bites of such exquisite, melt in your mouth meat was because of the irresistible courses we had leading up to it - wedge salad with tender diced bacon and pungent blue cheese dressing, potato skin fondue (like an elevated bacon nacho cheese dip), mussels in a flavorful broth that we sopped up with the addicting (on the house) bottomless basket of butter garlic parsley topped rolls (texture of Hawaiian rolls but not sweet). Then there was the scrumptious four cheese mac n cheese. I had to hold off on the giant onion rings (just ate the inside of one) to save room for the steak. We somehow also had drinks and dessert - I finished the first (which they made tart like I requested) and only tasted the last - a pineapple cheesecake, while my husband and his cousin demolished the rest along with creme brulee. Service was excellent and well timed. My husband's cousin said he hadn't expected the food to be so stellar, but that it even surpassed the swanky steakhouse we had gone to with him in SF on his last visit. We told him we weren't that surprised since we really like the other Stark restaurants we've been to, but this was the piece de la resistance. A little disappointed bc the reviews were really good, as well as the photos. Unfortunately this…read morewas a miss for me. I originally had dinner reservations elsewhere and changed it to this place bc of all the reviews I'd read and so many locals said this was their favorite place. The food was ok. Let's just say my favorite dish was the SALAD (miso caesar). The steak tartare was disappointing. While it looked good, it lacked flavor. The bread which we ordered (was not complimentary) was hard. We took the lamb and $13 rice to go. I tasted the lamb before we left and it was pretty salty. Although service was mostly good, our serve did not offer us an alcoholic beverage. We thought maybe he forgot, but after visiting our table at least 3-4 times in the first 20 mins, we were never asked if wanted one. We decided with all the food we ordered, we'll just grab a drink elsewhere afterwards. The other thing is the server suggested putting in the order all at once and that they would space it out. This is bc they cook most of their proteins over an open fire. So we did what was recommended and EVERYTHING, but the entrée came out five minutes after we ordered it. This is why we ended up taking our lamb and rice home...we were full from eating everything else that was supposed to be spaced out. Also, everything came out so fast, we were there for just 45 mins. Anyway, I'm sure this was just a one-off situation, but I was highly disappointed bc I had convinced my hubby that this place was all the rage. I would disagree after my visit. I might go back one day, but to be honest, there are sooo many restaurants to dine at, I don't think I would be back soon unless a friend suggested it. Side Note: Parking was easy as they have a designated parking lot and there are also lots of side street parking.

Don't just stop by for a meal--plan to spend a few hours exploring because every historic train car has its own unique experience. The amount of creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail is incredible. Every space feels thoughtfully designed, and you can tell every decoration and element was placed with intention. I notice something new every time I visit. I honestly can't pick a favorite train car. Casa Obsidiana serves authentic Oaxacan cuisine in one of the most beautifully designed spaces. The Parlor Car is elegant and perfect for champagne, caviar, and fresh oysters. If you're visiting with kids (or just have a sweet tooth), Earth & Sky Chocolates is a must--everything is absolutely delicious. Then there's the First Millionaires' Saloon, which is one of the coolest bars you'll ever walk into. The décor alone is worth the visit, and the distillery adds another unique experience to explore. Every train car has its own personality, making the entire property feel like an adventure rather than just a place to eat. The food is fantastic across the board. My son is obsessed with the wood-fired pizzas, and we've never had a meal we didn't enjoy. Whether you're stopping in for dinner, drinks, dessert, or simply wandering through the train cars, there's something for everyone. What truly makes this place even more special is the people. Every single employee we've encountered has been genuinely warm, welcoming, and kind. Michael always goes out of his way to say hello and make us feel at home, and Pedro is just as friendly and accommodating. You can tell the staff genuinely care about creating a memorable experience, and that hospitality is a huge reason we keep coming back. To make it even better, they have live music every weekend, creating such a fun atmosphere that you'll want to stay for hours. I've visited many places throughout Napa Valley, and nothing compares to the Calistoga Depot. It's historic, beautiful, unique, family-friendly, romantic, and unlike anywhere else. Whether you're looking for amazing food, handcrafted cocktails, authentic Oaxacan cuisine, incredible desserts, live music, or simply a one-of-a-kind experience, you'll find it here. This isn't just one of my favorite restaurants--it's one of my favorite places, period. If you're in Calistoga, don't even question it. Put the Calistoga Depot at the top of your list. I promise you'll leave already planning your next visit.

This place is so cool and definitely worth a stop when you're in Calistoga…read more We stopped by for a quick lunch and were immediately led into the distillery, which can only be described as impressive. Boasting high ceilings with exposed wood beams and a beautifully decorated bar area, the space oozes with rustic class and would make a great venue for any party or group gathering. We, however, came in for a sit down lunch with two kids and the small lounge seats and tables were not the best setup for a family meal. Which is the only thing keeping me from giving this place five stars. Similarly, the menu was also catered more to adults, with plenty of vegan options but very few items suitable for kids. That's not a knock on this place, just something to take note of. As a result, we opted to snack on a few items and the caviar and duck fat fries did not disappoint. The espresso martini with pumpkin foam was also excellent. But the really cool part about this place is the vintage train cars, each intricately decorated and offering their own dining/drinking experience. For example, one offers an oyster bar with underwater decor while another features a cowboy bar with real saddles as bar seats. The cleverness in design and attention to detail is impressive and is what makes this place special. I doubt there is a more interesting place to have lunch in Calistoga. I'm a fan of what they're doing here and would love to come back. Minus the kids of course.
