I am still dreaming about the Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich! WOW! First of all, I don't like many sandwiches. Cold, processed deli meats with the standard condiments is just not appealing to me. As we were driving through Healdsburg for lunch, my friend's Tesla suggested "Summer's Market & Deli" for a quick bite. The suggested reviews offered "BEST sandwiches" - though I had bias reservations (again, I don't like sandwiches). The shop is located in a neighborhood one mile off the beaten path. There are a couple of wooden picnic tables outside. Upon entering, the store is sparse, with a small ordering counter on the right side, drink fridge in the back and a few local items for purchase on the left side. The menu offered a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. I ordered the "Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich", off the FAVORITES sandwiches menu. It includes a hearty combo of grilled chicken breast, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato on a focaccia roll. WOW - the combination of high-quality ingredients made this one of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had!! Well done Summer! I like this place for when im in healdsburg and in the mood for a good hearty deli sandwich. Prices are on par with other delis, but i feel like they really load up the sandwiches with whatever deli meat you choose and the veggies you ask for. The owners are almost always there and they are very friendly. They have a good selection of chips, sodas/drinks, and other snacks as well. You can order our food and eat inside or outside. First time here.. cute little sandwich shop! It's nice to have a deli right in our neighborhood. I ordered turkey on a Dutch crunch with mayo, lettuce, pickles, provolone, red onion and Pepperoncini and of course salt and pepper. It was a pretty good sandwich, really hefty. Good ratio between bread and meat. The bread wasn't too thick which is good, I feel like some places you get a sandwich it's all bread! Really nice welcoming staff too! Found Summers market on the way to a wine tasting as we're passing through town. Ordered the Italian sandwich and scone from a very nice gentleman who was helpful and efficient. What? Doesn't everyone order a scone with their sandwich at lunch time? The sandwich was chockfull of a selection ofI Italian meats with a really tasty olive tapenade. Solid sandwich from a family-owned deli! Ordered a custom sammie: BLAT on toasted rye with added provolone ($13). Yum! I found the menu in Yelp photos and called it in. It was ready super quickly. Summer's is clean and larger inside than I realized. They offer a vast array of chips, candies, and bottled/canned beverages (including some wine and beer - I love living in wine country!). They sell coffee beverages and a few ice cream flavors, as well as delicious-looking homemade cookies (may need to indulge next time). Average and Expensive. The owner is rude and rude to her staff in front of customers. It was amazing when Dallas and Lara owned it.

One word - disappointment. The food was pricey for a deli sandwich. But sounded so good on the menu board. My Italian on Dutch was nearly inedible, dry and flavorless. Asked for mayo and mustard, and presto, no longer dry, but still flavorless! Three stars for the food, but adding in pricing and poor value pushed my overall experience to two stars. read more

I think we just found our favorite hidden gem outside the Healdsburg square. Indoor and outdoor seating and so cute. Lots of beverages you can pick from but damn those sandwiches!!! I got the Kendra added Bacon on Todd's recommendation and wow. My wife got the Thai Chicken wrap and not as good as mine if you wanted something clean and healthier that was a nice pick. One I love is you get a choice of beverages like an awesome convenience store with chips and candies. Oh and they make milkshakes and have ice cream and coffee as well as breakfast. Summer was making sandwiches and Todd we believe her husband was taking care of us very well at the counter. We will be back for sure and many times!!! Loved it! Great place to stop for a delicious lunch. We stopped in to grab some sammies on our way to Mendo. The staff is welcoming, the place is spotless, and they have lots of options. I was there when a customer had a scary accident with their child. This happened during the busy rush hour. The owner dropped everything to help out the parents and stayed calm and collected. I was impressed not only with the food but the kind people who run this establishment. I will make this my routine stop when I'm in Healdsburg! Was biking around the Healdsburg area on the hottest day ever during labor day and after a good 18 mi bike ride, i was hankering for some lunch to re-energize for some wineries in the afternoon. With a quick search around town, I found this spot and decided this was the spot. The joint is located in the middle of a neighborhood which surprised me as I was expecting to find a bunch of places around. The joint itself is really well maintained and a clean vibe. With the COVID craziness they have outdoor seating for those looking to sit down and take a pause. The counter is on the right to order sammies and chips on the left with drinks in the back. The folks at the front are super friendly and were good about answering all the questions I had. They offer a variety of sammies for both cold and hot but given it was a hot day, I decided to go with the Kevin which they said was their most popular. They also offered some "slushies" and this day was the watermelon/lemonade combo. They also offer some "side dishes" like pesto pasta, macaroni salad, etc. The Kevin was is packed with goodies with the dutch crunch being solid and the turkey tasting of top quality. They definitely don't skimp on the portion so I was able to split it with my biking partner. The mac salad was standard and good I was a bit disappointed as I wanted to try the pesto but they had unfortunately run out. The slushy was really good and hit the spot especially on a hot summer day. All in all, a solid spot and definitely exactly what I was looking for. Our favorite sandwich shop! My family and I love coming here. We usually take sandwiches to go, but Summer's also has a cute outdoor dining area to enjoy during the warmer months and tables inside when it's colder. The people who work here are absolutely amazing - the best customer service! The shop is located a short distance away from all of the chaos that is down town Healdsburg, in a quieter neighborhood. Stunning service began before I took a bite of my first sandwich from Summer's Market & Deli. My wife and I ordered some very specific alterations to our sandwiches and chatted with the owner / manager while we waited. We talked about the summer collegiate baseball game we would be watching that evening and to which we'd be bringing our sandwiches. We paid and headed out.... A few minutes after sitting in the stands at the stadium we saw someone running up to us at our seats - one of the staff from the deli - with a bag. She profusely apologized - get this: she realized after we left that she made one of our sandwiches wrong, made a new one, and brought it to us in our seats with some cookies!
