One of my favorite sandwich spots! I love coming here on the way to nearby vineyards. It is such a unique yet nostalgic place with a great variety of food, snacks, and souvenirs. There's always a line, no matter what day it is! The sandwiches here are real star! I'd honestly drive hours away just to get one. And I have done this multiple times! It probably sounds crazy, but once you've had it, you'll understand. My favorite s sandwich here is called the dry Creek stacker with everything on it, and I always ask for a pinch of salt and pepper for the extra touch of flavor. Trust me, one bite and you will love this sandwich! I love how packed it is with everything I love. I would also recommend getting the classic chicken or tuna salad to go. i've been stopping here for a great many years and it's definitely worth stopping in to grab one of many delicious sandwiches and they have premade sandwiches ready to go. several refrigerators full of all sorts of drinks you may want as well as all kinds of chips and snacks to go with your sandwich. They have lots of fresh baked goods I usually buy at least one of the cookies and they're kind of huge that's OK. We can take a few days to finish it no problem. The service here is very quick. I always used to pass by this establishment as a kid when my family would take us on long drives through wine country when we'd visit our grandparents all the way from Guam. This past season was finally the time I was able to stop in to try it. Looking at the Dry Creek General Store, it looks like an unassuming, country-style rest stop for day drinkers. After pushing through their screen door, you enter into the general store where you will see shelves of jars of pickles, jams, cookies, and mustards, fridges filled with refreshing beverages, and coolers of ready-made salads and sandwiches. The first time I came in, it was an experience for myself and a group of my friends visiting from the South Bay. After enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime tour of Hawley Vineyards, we stopped here for a quick break and bite-to-eat as we all have different dietary needs and wants so figured this was the place to solve that issue. We came on a Saturday, and while packed, the service was quick and easy. While we were a group of 7, it was easy for us to find seating inside as it was hot outside. From what I recall, everyone was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with what they ordered. It was so good that I decided to take my boyfriend in for a lunch a month later. When my boyfriend and I ended up going, it was later in the day and the place was empty. Ordering was even easier than before and we sat outside on one of the many picnic tables they have while being able to look at the vineyards and watching the workers do their pruning. We ended up ordering a pulled pork pastor. We both really enjoyed the sandwich with a jar of hot peppers I ended up buying when I was browsing. But for what you pay, the ingredients could be better. Also sometimes the sandwiches come burnt. There's a whole deli section where you can buy salads of all types like kale salad, Caesar salad, potato salad, beet salad, etc as well as sautéed veggie mixes, dips, olives, and more. I hate to do this.. But we had such a poor experience We stopped in on Sunday for breakfast on the way to the Lake. The service was slow, almost forgot to ring us up did it right at the end and boy we wish we wouldn't have paid because this was possibly the worst food I have ever seen be served. It was a wet soupy mess of a burrito with a soggy tortilla that fell apart it tasted like wet scrambled eggs no chorizo flavor involved, and a saucy slathered mayo mess of a breakfast sandwich. This run is over $40 and ended up in the trash. We opened it on the road and couldn't even take a bite it was a huge mess, I tried the sauce which seemed to just be mayo on the sandwich. I would have turned around and asked for my money back if our family hadn't been waiting for us to launch the boat. So disappointing! read more

I went there on a Tuesday at 11 am. I was the only customer and waited 20 minutes. When I got to my car my hair smelled like smoked meat. I ordered a pesto tomato panini. I think it was 17 bucks. Looking now, I can't find it on the menu. Folks, it's only some kind of pesto mayo and a few slices of tomato. That's it. There was a stack of them behind the glass and it looked good. It was good!! They do get busy (not surprised given the quality of the food), so be prepared to wait a little if you are coming during rush hour times. Such a quaint store located amongst all the stunning Healdsburg wineries. It is such a convenient location for bikers riding along the Dry Creek Trail or anyone wanting to pick up picnic supplies. I loved the small attention to detail such as the rustic flower arrangements on the tables & the 4th of July decorations all around the store front. The store itself is stocked with countless gourmet treats, drinks & baked goods. There are a variety of hot and cold sandwiches which were all delicious! We visited the store twice in the 3 days we were there & we loved every sandwich we tried. You can tell that they use fresh and high quality ingredients in their sandwiches and they are moist and very flavorful. The standout sandwich for us was the Muffaletta Sandwich! It was amazing! If you're anything like me you get hungry while wine tasting and find yourself wishing the wineries had more than pallet cleansing crackers to hold you over... have no fear- the dry creek general store is here! This quaint general store offers an array of tasty options!! I've also stopped by on my way to the lake, a destination for motorcycle rides, and even cycled out there, all because their food is just that good (also being the only food stop for miles helps). Little pricy but worth it. Be prepared to wait in line but there are a ton of trinquits and random things to look at, shop for, and keep you occupied while you wait for your order. When the bar is open it's a fun spot too- though I'm not sure if it is operating anymore because it's been closed the last few times I've stopped by- but take a peek in there anyways just to witness the craziness for yourself. Once your foods ready, snag a seat on the patio (pro tip: have a friend save seats while you order and pick up) for a solid grape vine view while you feast. If you come around lunch hours beware- it's popular and parking can be a little rough. The staff has always been nice enough for a deli style shop, but for such a pricy sandwich I'd hope for a bit more service and or chips and a drink to be included; but like I said- they are tasty ingredients so I'm a returning customer regardless. read more

I love looking to see what new things were added. The shop looks especially cute during the holidays! One thing that I love about their menu is that they have so many options. They have a great gluten free bread, which many of my friends who are gluten intolerant like. My go to is the turkey pesto sandwich. It's always fresh! The waits are sometimes long, but definitely worth it in my opinion. The parking lot is very small, but most people park along the road outside. You pay a premium for accessibility- the Dry Creek Stories is well positioned off the main road and you pay for ease of access to the wineries without making the return Trek to downtown Healdsburg. I had a prosciutto and gruyere panini and my husband had the tri tip sandwich. Our sandwiches were delicious and the perfect amount of food. I'm laying in bed at a hotel in downtown Napa trying to figure out how I'm going to drive the 40+ miles needed to go back here for their blueberry scone. Who knew scones were delicious? I thought they were, by definition, hard pastry rocks with a weird texture. Turns out, they can be buttery balls of deliciousness. I also had a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel which was pretty fire (that cheese pull gave everything I needed it to give).
