When paying the bill the owner came out and was raising his voice to me and my wife using an "unfriendly" "tough guy tone". No apology for the wait. No taking ownership of mistakes or oversights made. Offered many excuses about how they are so busy in an irritated and disrespectful tone (It wasn't super busy when we arrived and placed our order.) We paid our $6.00 bill and thanked the owner and went on our way. The place was renovated years ago from an old 5&10, I frequented as a kid. It is a lovely looking place. The wait staff we dealt with were friendly and personable. I can not comment on the food, we did not get any. My unsweetened tea was fine and my wife did not seem to disapprove of her soda. Due to the owner's handling of the situation, his lack of integrity and the attitude of your just a customer. I cannot recommend 1787. Please try it out for yourself.
