My husband and I came in for his free Father's Day drink if I purchased a drink myself which I did. My husband ordered his normal iced grande mocha extra sweet and I don't normally order anything, but I wanted to try the caramel Blondie, but I can only have decaf and since I'm lactose intolerant, I thought I'd better order mine with oat milk. The barista was wonderful in suggesting that my drink could be blended instead of over ice. So I ordered my blended 16 ounce decaf caramel Blondie with oat milk. There's nothing normal about my drink and I have to hand it to her. she was wonderful in suggesting that I have my drink blended as well as making it perfectly for me. We have actually been to other Black Rock locations and we find that this one in Clackamas is the best one as far as making the drinks correctly and with a great attitude! read more

I hesitate to come to this location of Black Rock because I have found the service to be very slow and the parking lot is difficult if the line is packed. Today, I actually backed up and left because I waited over ten minutes and the line never moved. Finally one car was served in my line and it was another five or more minutes and no one moved in my line, but the other line had some movement. We recently moved here from Vermont in April, and we discovered this wonderful chain. I have been very excited about the food, drinks and service. I started working in Clackamas and this location is really close to my work. It was outstanding service until about 2 weeks ago. I like to order a Bagel and I ask them to put the cream cheese on it, because i'm in dress clothes for work and it makes a mess. I also tip them because they go out of their way. The last 3 times (2 weeks) They have refused to accomadate my request. so I take the bagel off my order completely.I finally gave up going. I miss the 2 summer girls who didnt bat an eye, however they are gone for the winter. I just jump over to Panera or Mcdonalds now. Neither as good, but I don't have time to do 2 stops. I feel like this is a very minor request, for the loss of money in supporting them. . Today I went through to only ask for a bagel, giving them one more chance. I now sent a letter to Corporate, but unsure if that will go anywhere. read more

Service is bad. Borderline rude. As I left the manager was sarcastically wishing me a happy thanksgiving. I'm in the service industry and I would never treat someone like that. I went to a different location and they were super nice and apologized for the experience I had at this one. I never got a smile, a sorry, an "I understand" or anything and then the manager was rude to too it off. I paid $6 for less than 8oz of cold brew. Thank God for the other location to save the day! I am a frequent drive-through coffee person. I go every single day of the week. I pivot between blackrock and Dutch. However, I have only been to this blackrock location twice and both times it was terrible. The coffee was great, which is why I gave some stars but I have never had worse service in my life. The first time I went, the lines were really long so I did the walk-up window. The girls just looked at me and didn't acknowledge me for almost 8 minutes. Finally they took my order and I waited another 14 minutes. I thought it was a fluke because they were busy and it was Tuesday. So the following Tuesday, I go in to get another drink because I am a teacher and they have a special deal on Tuesdays for teachers. This time I go through the drive-through and I choose the shorter line which is the northern line. I sit in that line for 31 minutes. I saw all 18 cars that were in the other side of the line get served as well as to walk up people get served to before I did and I was third in the northern line. I would've left but I was trapped by several cars behind me. I have no idea what the system is at that location but they need to have someone from corporate do some quality control. The girls are not nearly as friendly as any of their coffee shop in the surrounding area, borderline rude. I'm not sure if they didn't want to serve me because I am Native American or if it's because I am a teacher or if it was just a fluke. But both times I was completely ignored, the service was zero out of 10.o will choose OC or Halsey next week. They are consistently friendly. read more

Every time I've gotten a drink here it's honestly not very good. My work regularly gets drinks as a treat for us but I've honestly started just not getting anything because I know it's probably not gonna be any good. They changed a bunch of flavors and most of them taste too sugary and overly sweet now. Also, they got rid of rockstar and use their own energy drink brand now that's disgusting. This last time I got a kids size mango smoothie... when my coworker brought our orders back mine was not even filled all the way and it was purely water and flavoring. Not a smoothie at all. It wasn't even edible. Bummer! read more

I accidentally placed an order through the app at the wrong location. The ladies working inside refused to remake it without double charging me. I work on an ambulance and cannot go through the drive through, hence why I placed a mobile order. The lack of basic understanding and customer service has made it clear that my business belongs elsewhere. That was money down the drain I won't get back for a lesson learned. I usually go to DB but recently my friend got me hooked on BRCB Rockstars. They're pretty awesome. DB offered their Rebel Energy Drinks however as tasty as they are you get half the size for twice the price. BR offers what's considered a double at DB for only $3.50 while DB is $3.75 for 1/2 the drink. The drive thru is usually pretty quick and when it's running slow they're always apologetic and sometimes give you an extra hole punch. The girls are lovely & seem to enjoy their jobs. read more

The crew here is always upbeat and energetic they get me going in the morning way before the coffee hits. The punch card rewards program is a great idea every 10th cup is free. Mrs. K. and I were first exposed to Black Rock while down in SoCal on a trip earlier this year. We were pleasantly surprised to find they had migrated north. This last Sunday we were heading back to Tillamook from Gladstone and needed a quick pick-us-up before we left. Enter, Black Rock. Mrs. K. got a nonfat Blackout and I got a 24 oz. nonfat latte (yes, that's a lot of coffee). The barista and baristo were super friendly (the same as the place we went to in Oceanside, CA (see my review, elsewhere)). They were inquiring without being intrusive or obnoxious and just really happy and friendly. I love these places and will definitely go back to any of their locations if the situation presents itself. read more

The music plays way to loud and they won't turn it down when you try to talk. If you can't hear the customer turn the music down! Had a few of them argue when I asked them to stir my fuel.... Most are super friendly and their quick. They really need to listen to the customer requests and not argue over asking someone to stir the drink. That's how you get a tip! read more

Love their flavored red bull drinks and can't count how many I could drink in a day if my heart wouldn't explode. Not a fan of their coffee, I still hit up their competition for that one but the infused drinks are on point. Pulled up to Black Rock with recommendations from a friend. I ordered an Iced Vanilla & Honey Latte. The drink was incredibly sweet making it unbearable to drink. I should of gone back around to ask for it to be re-made but I was short on time. I'm truly disappointed because I believe that coffee should never be excruciatingly sweet, as they should be made sweet upon request. As this is just an opinion, I hope that adjustments can be made to fulfill these requests. Now the reason I'm giving 3 stars and not less is because the location was very easily accessible and the baristas were incredibly speedy, friendly and great conversationalists. read more

I love this place! Espresso is awesome and perfectly brewed. The girls who work here are upbeat, professional, and fun. Some places can have some real snooty brats! I've never had a problem here... They have a punch card... And they have yummy food. (It's actually the same packages of food you get at Dutch brothers.) My only suggestion is when the lines are long... Keep the customer conversations to a greeting and order. It's sort of annoying sitting in line watching 2 baristas have a conversation with one car when there are ten cars waiting in line for service! read more

The good: their drinks are pretty good! I will always recommend the flavored rockstars, only the coffee if you're looking for something overly sweet. The bad: service is super slow, if there are more then 5 cars ahead of you, it'll take at least 20 minutes to get to the window. Also, the people are not friendly, when i drive up to a coffee bar i expect a friendly barista chatting about her day while recommending coffees to try, well, not here. This Black Rock is near where I live so I tend to frequent it quite often. I love the seasonal coconut blondie and the ever present caramel blondie. I have had them hot, iced, blended. They're always delicious! The staff here has always been kind and upbeat (even when I'm still in my grumpy morning fog). I will end up here again and again and again.
