This Starbucks location is so dang small for how flipping busy they constantly are, from open to close, with cars that wrap to the street especially in the morning. It's also one of the slowest drive-thrus I have encountered and can't imagine their sos times (maybe it's the customers). Located at 122nd and Halsey, it's best to enter from 122nd lot as thats where line goes mainly. I have experienced some really nice bubbly employees, and then there was one who I argued with over my order and the amount of espresso shots in each size, I had to say, no thank you and drive away. I pretty much only will mobile app my order to this location and it's always ready on time. There is a drive thru and walk up window only. There are tables outside so you can enjoy some fresh. Keep my suggestion of ordering through mobile pay and getting your drink quicker then the DT. read more

I stop by this location on the way to work since there's a drive thru and the line moves pretty quick unless someone orders a whole bunch of items and backs up the line. The staff here is very pleasant and always ask how I'm doing or make nice comments. When my puppy Loki is in the backseat, he usually gets offered a pup cup which he enjoys. Most of the time my order is accurate but there's been a few times my white mocha was made wrong and I got a regular mocha, but that's been the extent of it. This is a very small Starbucks so there is no inside seating or bathroom. There's just drive thru and a walk up window. Sometimes there's a violinist playing in the morning. Nitro Sweet Cream Cold Brew... this is my mantra on particularly rocky mornings filled with misadventures and sleep-induced, fumbled attempts to work. "Neeeeeeeeeeeeed caffeine," my body cries out in a desperate attempt to get the day started. This is why I feel very fortunate to have a drive-thru coffee shop in my neighborhood. Please let me tell you how proud I am of the morning coffee run rituals I've perfected. Wardrobe is simple... in the Drive-thru one only needs to put on the appearance of respectability. My neighbors see me in my boxers all the time, so there's no real embarrassment there. I'm that guy, it is what it is. But a jacket or lap blanket quickly transitions me from neighborhood weirdo to dude picking up his morning coffee. The whole drive-thru in your bathrobe thing is ok, I guess. However, bathrobe transforms to old school Portland hardcore if it's bedazzled with pins or buttons from your favorite band. My "Riot Grrrl" Sleater-Kinney button goes particularly well with my pink and black checkered, fuzzy bathrobe. "Keep Portland Weird." Did I just take you on a fashion tangent? Ok, Nico... focus. This is a Starbucks review... I really love how convenient this Starbucks location is on the east side. They've got a great layout with walk-up window and drive-thru on opposite ends of the property. The parking lot and drive-thru lane are positioned such as to prevent traffic jams, and it's very easy to pull out onto 122nd or Halsey, depending upon the direction you're heading. The staff are always friendly and appropriately caffeinated, as to be expected. I've never had a failed order here. Starbucks has an excellent app that allows for pre-orders, a system I use regularly. But I really must note... some of the menu items at this location aren't on the app menu. I remind them every time I order, and you should too. Maybe they'll fix the problem one of these days. This review is strictly for the new impossible breakfast sandwich. I ordered pick up along with a venti iced unsweetened passion tea. I ordered about 7 minutes before arriving and it was ready right when I walked in. They didn't seem open for "dine in" but you could do mobile pick up or order at the bar. Anyway, the impossible breakfast sandwich was ridiculous. It tasted just like sausage and it was the perfect size. My meat eater boyfriend even said he would 100% order than sandwich next time. The staff were super friendly! More then a few of them said hello to me while I ordered. Even though they were busy, they were all genuinely smiling. They look like they enjoy their job. Great teamwork! I think this is the friendliest Starbucks I've ever visited. The building is architecturally pleasing to me so it catches my eye every time I've driven past it. I'm glad I stopped this time. It's close to my freeway entrance so I'll be making this a regular stop from now on. If you're in the area, you should too! read more

Let me start by saying the staff that took my order, payment and gave me the food and drink I ordered were excellent. However I ordered a sandwich and a venti water with a scoop of strawberries. When I arrived at the window the barista asked for $9 something. I confirmed my order and he agreed that's what he had rung me up for. This barista and another in the store notified me that the district manager has made a rule about how a water with strawberries has to be rung up due to a popular TikTok video. It's simply not okay to charge $4-5 for something because it went viral on TikTok. I asked the barista to change my order to a refresher because I simply was not going to pay that much for just water. I felt horrible having to discuss this and change my order at the window. The Starbucks near my home that I go to on a regular basis charges me 50cents for the water. I don't add anything else to it, I just like the flavor the strawberries add. District manager, do better. You're being greedy. As far as your staff go, they are excellent and you are putting them in an unfair position. read more

This place doesn't care about how you order your drink they will make it to there own specifics. Then argue you down about the way you like your coffee. That man working the window on Monday 8-29-22 was rude and very difficult. He told me how I should have order the drink an. I feel like this is the only coffee place within a few miles of this location, which sort of gives it a monopoly (no-one likes a monopoly). But, it's Starbucks, so at least you know what you're getting. Overall, no negatives, no positives. If you've never been to Starbucks before, you are probably from another planet. I really like Starbucks, but every drink I've tried besides the Carmel frappé tasted absolutely horrid. I ordered a vanilla latte and it tasted burnt. Inconsistent tasting lattes and mochas. Also they don't maintain there trees. I have told them twice that the stakes and supporting straps need to be removed as they are girdling the trees and will eventually kill them. This is the first LEED certified Starbucks in Portland. Efficient and clever use of shipping containers situated in a well-landscaped area make this a sustainable and attractive spot. While essentially a drive-through, the generous outdoor seating and plantings make this a really nice respite that will only get better as the landscaping matures. The newest locations in/near the Gateway neighborhood; been open for about a year. Seems most of the staff is new to Starbucks and they make mistakes, as all humans do. But every time I have had an issue, they make it right. I frequent this location, but have left several times due to the wait in the drive-thru and the walk-up window simultaneously. The quality of drinks remains fairly steady, even if the service is a little on the slower-side; the staff is friendly and younger and perky! I have only had an issue with one employees attitude at the drive-thru window and I haven't seen that person back at the window as of late! Because this is a drive-thru and walk-up window only, there is no indoor seating, but they do have several tables and chairs for use outside the building. It is especially nice to sit outside and enjoy the Pacific North West on a warm fall night or summer afternoon! There are more parking spots at this location than most of the other walk-ups. read more

Treated us like we were trying to steal because they made a drink wrong. Will never come back to this location.
