They have great coffee options including some very interesting Specialty drinks like their Turmeric Latte. They also have their in house made syrups. They are a Coffee Roaster and their bean quality is excellent. We ordered a Lavender Cappuccino and a Turmeric Latte. Wow, they were both delicious. They do have fresh pastries but nothing gluten free. Definitely a place to hang out and enjoy your coffee alone or with friends and family.

There aren't a lot of gluten free options, but they did have one muffin I could have had. The drink preparation takes a bit of time. There were people already waiting and many of their drinks have special preparations (pour overs, steeping the tea). Have a minute to wait. I had the London Fog and the baristas advice held true. The flavor was worth the wait and I will surely go back. They roast their own coffee and make you feel welcome. Plus, there's a bookstore across the street. Love all around.

The owner is from Tanzania, and the mission of the business is to serve the local community with high-quality African coffee beans. Part of the profits go back to Africa to support coffee workers and help improve living conditions in their communities. Their signature drink is the Zanzibar spiced coffee, which I featured in my photo. It's infused with a blend of warm spices that makes it truly unique. The coffee I ordered was a lighter roast, with a pleasant hint of acidity as you sip it. They also have three different food options with African bread. The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to share the story behind the coffee shop, which makes the experience even more meaningful.

My friend brought a Thermos of coffee made from 9 Bar beans to an event we were preparing for. I couldn't put the cup down - fruit and velvet aroma. Crisp, blossom flavor. Really good. (And it sure beat, Ahem, the local chain coffee place.). Anyway, I stopped by 9 Bar Espresso one Saturday afternoon and it was an excellent experience. I met the owner, and we talked about what kind of coffee flavors I most liked. He then helped me select a few to try. I now use the 9 Bar Espresso coffee exclusively in my stove-top espresso maker. I chatted with the barista, he was super nice and had some time to chat, so talked coffee and what they were brewing, which was the house blend and a single origin, I asked for one of each. The single origin was light and fruity as I'd expect, nice acidity and a crisp finish, whereas the house blend, their Deviation Blend, had a stronger body and less acidity, but still managed to get in some good notes of dried fruit and a nutty flavor. Both were perfectly pulled, with nary a bitter or sour note to be found. All in all, a great little quick trip for coffee, a place I'd definitely go to again.
