I hate to leave this review because I've always had great experiences with Barbarossa Coffee, especially at their Tomball location. That's exactly why this visit to the Spring location was so disappointing. When I first arrived, there was nobody at the register, which already set the tone for the visit. What should have been a quick stop then turned into over an hour. I ordered a smoothie and breakfast tacos, and even the smoothie took a while to come out. I finished the entire drink before my food even arrived. After about 30 minutes, I checked in with the staff and was told it was due to "miscommunication" and that someone was new, while the person who took my order was in the back on the phone. I had to repeat my order multiple times, specifically asking for no hot sauce and no salad. Despite that, after another 15 minutes, the tacos finally came out incorrect, with both hot sauce and a salad, and they were lukewarm, not hot. To make matters worse, the smoothie itself wasn't properly blended. What stood out most is that they weren't particularly busy, just a light morning crowd. I've been to the Tomball location when it was much busier, and the service there was still fast and attentive, which set a high expectation. Overall, the experience didn't match the premium pricing. I truly hope this location improves, but based on this visit, I wouldn't return to this one. read more

I visited a few times beginning of February 2025 while I was visiting the area. This spot had good reviews, so we decided to visit. First off, the decor and seating are lovely. It's a welcoming space that I'd love to hang out at if I lived in the area. Service was alright, it looked like they were training in a new gal and the rest of staff was taking lunch, so it was understandably a bit slow. The next time was a lot better. I ordered a pistachio latte the first time, and a Dubai chocolate the second time. The only negative things I have to say are I wish I hadn't ordered it with nuts on the top as it really ruined the texture of the drink (totally my fault, but I want to include this so others might considered it), the drink itself was lovely, rich, and a good pistachio flavor. The Dubai chocolate latte I am conflicted about; while it was also a lovely coffee, I didn't really taste a lot of chocolate. The best thing I ordered was this spanakopita-looking pastry (it was unlabeled). It came to me warmed up and had a lovely cheese filling. Next time I'm in the area, I'm ordering this again! I'd also love to come back and just explore the menu. I wish they'd do coffee flights just to try more! Bathrooms are clean. Parking is free. read more

The famous "Dubai chocolate latte" was ok, it's not my preference and the pistachios on top just make your sips oddly crunchy. The latte list here is extensive. They have a widespread selection of both flavored lattes and international style lattes which makes it hard to choose but you can't go wrong. I've tried both the Spanish latte and the Dutch iced latte and both were great. Service was nice. And the it's a hip relaxing atmosphere with large windows that let in the light. read more

the search continues for a great basque cheesecake (san Sebastian cheesecake) in houston. I was excited to try this one , along with the cherry cream matcha latte. they were both pretty disappointing. the cheesecake, you can definitely tell they did not use mascarpone which is essential for this cheesecake. I make this from scratch all the time which is why i'm looking for a great store/restaurant bought one. the search continues. as for the matcha , as well underwhelming. I usually only get vanilla flavored matchas so I was also excited to try it from the pictures.. it just tasted like milk. maybe it was my fault for the milk I chose, but regardless I should have at least tasted a bit of matcha , cherry or the whip topping, anything but just milk. probably wouldn't stop here again but the items were not terrible, just way below expectations for what they are. read more

This morning I was disappointed... would've given it one star although the place was clean and the two girls were at least friendly. I hardly drink coffee out nowadays although every time I went to the Tomball location, it was worth the occasional splurge. This is the newer location a couple of miles closer to home and while running errands I said, "Why not?!" Took awhile to get my usual pistachio honey latte and croissant at 10 am in the morning although I could see the two baristas behind the counter were busy. Ok, no big deal at all and I had $5 in rewards to use. They provided good service although once I headed out the door, the latte lacked the pistachio flavor I look forward to. Then when I finally got home to eat my almond croissant, it look like it was almost half the size and I realized it was burnt. Took a bite and it left a bitter taste in my mouth and was hard like rock candy. Turkey sandwich is deceiving. The samples in the window look amazing. The one we got was flattened to two dimensions and no bigger than a child's hand. We paid $24 for a lot of nothing. I came across this coffee shop after a doctor's appointment and was immediately impressed by the variety of drinks and pastries and snacks they offer. But Juliana, one of the employees that was there at the time, was super helpful and kind! She was funny and engaging, rather than just being quick about taking an order. The cafe is spacious and has a great amount of comfortable seating. Plenty of people were working from here and having meetings. It's very modern, open and airy! I ordered a snickerdoodle latte and an almond croissant. The latte was so smooth and of high quality. I love that they don't over sweeten the latte. It's the perfect amount of sweetness. My boyfriend ordered the egg & cheese biscuit and a hurricane refresher. He said it tasted like the key west and was impressed by the taste of the biscuit and that it wasn't dry. Found out the new location is opening and since it's finals season I had to stop in. The coffee is just as good as usual and service is always friendly and quick. The new shop is super spacious, but still cozy. It still has the same vibes as the previous location on Louetta, but it feels more open. There's plenty of seating and plugs--perfect for studying. Unfortunately just an all around bad experience. I must have seen 6 other people that also had issues with their drinks. We waited in a short line for about 10 minutes just to order and then wait literally 20 minutes to get our coffee, which was mid at best. Oversweetened and milked, and just 2 or 3 ice cubes left floating at the top. The food did come out after about 6-7 minutes, so we were completely done eating our food by the time the coffee came out. The tacos were literally cold and didn't even have the ingredients that the menu listed. The barista team seemed overwhelmed and under staffed as well. Why does the drive thru take FOREVER? I work around this cafe so often come by to get coffee. The whole purpose of a drive thru is so ppl can drive by, order their coffee and have it ready within 6-8 mins. When you pull up to the microphone, nobody comes to take your order until a few mins pass by and then the next window, you're waiting easily another 8-10 mins. Why even have a drive thru if you can't provide the quick service? This review is based on me coming in at least 5-7 times during the week between 7:15-7:30. Recently came to find this place as going to get coffee at new cafes are like a ritual for us. We really loved this cute place! It's huge, lot of places for you to sit and enjoy the drinks and food. We've had a few pastries, and they were all great. My fiance especially enjoyed the beef roll??? type of thing. Their pistachio latte was to die for. Other drinks have been okay but their service way outstanding. We had the pleasure of being served by Markie yesterday and he was so delightful! He was very informative, helpful, patient, and kind.
