    Reuben and steak dip sandwiches.
    Christine O.

The quality and quantity of food was fantastic. We had a Rueben which was chock full of meat and a steak dip sandwich, both were delicious. Onion rings were in a nice batter, not frozen for sure. The coleslaw was refreshing. Our waitress, Amber, was very attentive, intuitive and great suggestions. The owner came by every table asking if everything was okay, which we appreciated! Will definitely go again.

We haven't been here in several years, and that apparently was our loss. We retired over the weekend and enjoyed a variety of some really tasty foods. Hard to know where to start -- or stop. Let's begin with some appetizers, like General Tso's Pork Ribs, succulent, sloppy and delicious (scallions and red onions add to the flavors). Tomato bisque with parmesan, rich and yummy. The Shrimp Scampi plate was totally appealing and came as a very large serving -- no going away hungry for sure. We moved the angel hair pasta and the oh-so appealing nd perfectly cooked shrimp. Another in our group enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon that spared neither the cheese nor the crispy bacon (with crispy fries, no less. Honestly, everything we ate was delightfully and carefully prepared. Don;t know whether there's been a change in the ownership or the chef or what, but we were absolutely bowled over by our experience. And our server was very attentive, too. Prices are reasonable. Half of the building is s restaurant with tables and booths, and the other half is a bar with booths. There are lots of alcoholic beverage choices on either side, but conversation is a bit easier on the restaurant side. Either choice seems fine by us!

We were driving around looking for a place for lunch, trying to get something in quick before getting home for our toddlers nap and randomly found this place on Yelp. It was a Sunday afternoon in the middle of a torrential downpour and were immediately seated. So many awesome sounding options and I'd definitely love to come back for dinner. Everything everyone had was excellent.

Service was pretty bad and we were more than patient. How do you send someone home with this? Much less make a point of going back for it like it was some sort of favor. 6 wings for $14? Seriously? And you serve this? Don't waste your money or time.

    Scallop & crab risotto

Frequent visitor to Thomaston. First time here. After looking at their menu online, I was looking forward to the cauliflower "wings", the Spring salad and Shrimp caprese. Unfortunately, they didn't have any of those items! We were informed that due to the wholesale cost of food, they've made some changes to the menu. It's known that prices have gone up, but you need to keep your information updated on your website. To give us an idea just how much prices have gone up, our waitress reported to us that French fries that were $25/box and are now $50/box. While I think that's likely an exaggeration, if true, then they should fine alternative suppliers. It also told me they didn't make freshly cut fries. So, what did we eat? We started with the pretzel knots. The Fall version came with a Mornay dipping sauce (as opposed to a mustard sauce on the posted menu). Not what we expected (usually knots are small) but very good pretzel bread. The mornay sauce was ok but not very cheesy at all. I ordered the crab and scallop risotto which apparently replaced the shrimp caprese I originally planned to order. When it came on a flat plate, I already knew...Anyway, it was very dry and a bit underdone while being overdone at the same time. The crab was a bit "fishy". The 4 scallops atop were very tasty though and I really liked the red sauce that came on the side of the plate. It was sweet and a bit spicy and totally changes the profile of the dish. My girlfriend ordered the two chili dogs w/fries on the Specials manu and said it was good. The fries, while not fresh cut, were seasoned very well and were hot and crispy. The beer and drink menu were very good. We were pleasantly surprised to find a beer from Bolero Snort, a NJ brewery a friend of ours has had a hand in that we didn't think had expanded out of state yet. Note: I didn't get a picture of the new menus and they're not on their website yet.

Let's just say I wasn't sure - so I avoided it. Went in tonight as I was dying for a simple burger and didn't want all the trappings of other places around from an investment standpoint. Boy, was I glad I did. I grew up in NJ - diners are a religion. This, to me, was a nicer (yet still casual and welcoming) diner. There's no neon and stainless steel to let me think it was a diner - but it's the best of a family-style restaurant and the diner we all know and love. Service was simply fantastic. Friendly, prompt, fun/funny. Atmosphere comfortable and not pretentious. Food: I had a simple cheeseburger and rather than fries, took them up on their offer for a small bowl of soup. All - exactly what I had hoped. Cook on the medium rare burger was clinically perfect. Meat to bun ratio was spot on. Hot, juicy. Terrific. Giving four stars in its category today as I want to dive deeper into the menu. I want to try their coleslaw, and pickles, and a chicken strip, fries, onion rings/straws before I hold it truly against a classic diner. But let's put it this way - I can't wait. Ps. Server said they change their specials 2x a day!!! Come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Don't let the sign fool you

Ordered and food delivered within 10 minutes, granted it was off hours, but we were pleased. My partner & I ordered some things to share. Buffalo wings were exceptional-crispy and a nice spice that had just the right amount of bite. Figgy Piggy with a burger. Insanely tasty. Burger cooked to perfection, fig jam gave it a nice sweetness, the bacon was really crispy, and the sourdough was perfect. Served with house made fries/chips that were a great accompaniment. Meatballs, where do I begin? First, we had to take them to go because we were already too full. 3 large meatballs in a cute cast iron skillet with a generous amount of marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. Served with 3 giant wedges of pizza to sop up that sauce or make a lil sandwich. Delicious, every last morsel. Highly recommend. Not a large menu which is refreshing and what they've chosen to serve is done with care from the kitchen. Cute bar area for cocktails too. Oh and the other great thing.... Kenny our server was a joy AND they have really nice and clean bathrooms.

Service was below average. Either I messed up and ordered the wrong beer in the flight, or my server did. Everything was very clean. Parking was a bit of a struggle - there was street parking above, below, and across, and a huge lot in the back. The menu looked pretty good so we started with some apps. Beer cheese- definitely a different twist than I expected but it was great. Very flavorful, really beer forward. The bruschetta was ridiculously amazing!! The cucumber salsa was missing something but ok, needed some acid or heat. My disappointment started when they brought out our meal, (we still had two apps to go, I hate my meal coming out with or before the rest of our apps. I had the hot honey chicken and NE Clam chowder. The chowder was brown and was not what I was looking for, I packaged up to go. It was primarily the brown I assume the roux went farther than it should have or there is something else in it.. The hot honey chicken was ok, the chicken was paper thin , tasted mostly arugula no heat, no sweet... I'd switch out the bread for a roll next time and douse it with hot sauce. The cottage fries are out of this world and I would come back for beverages and those!! My partner had the biria sandwich which was fire, also had a salad which was really good as well. The cookies are really amazing! Actual Dessert- I am struggling with we opted for the Chocolate cake which was literally melting- did not think it was ice cream so not sure why we had a puddle in a box when we got home. I want to try other things, as we had some good and some not so good, so we'll be back and update again after another try.

The dinner menu was atypical, featuring an eclectic fusion of dishes executed with lots of creative flair. Flavor, quality and freshness of ingredients were top notch. Our starter, Garlic Maple Whiskey Chicken Bites, came accompanied with grilled shishito peppers. Perfect for sharing and so lovely paired with a glass of prosecco. Next, we sampled Bouillabaisse and Miso Roasted Black Cod in dashi broth. Seafood for both mains were super fresh. The Bouillabaisse broth was remarkably flavorful, the hint of saffron ever present but not overwhelming. How nice to have the red pepper rouille and slices of bread (customary in France) served alongside for the authentic experience. Miso Roasted Black Cod was tasty, succulent and fork tender. Beautifully arranged with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts surrounding the fish, plus a delectable piece of polenta cake tucked underneath. Dashi broth was poured onto dish tableside, creating a warm umami rich dish that was not only delicious but also extremely satisfying. On to desserts....The Chocolate Tarte with sea salt, nuts and berry coulis, a picture of understated elegance, was incredibly sublime. The Warm Apple Tartlet à la Mode with vanilla ice cream was good too. Would have preferred a tad less cinnamon though. All things considered, this was an exemplary meal.
