I attended a surprise birthday party here. Arrival time was 6pm but guests had to wait in foyer because the party area wasn't set up on time by the restaurant. We waited an extra 20 minutes to be seated. The tossed salad barely had any dressing on it. The person sitting beside me had the stump of the lettuce head in her salad! It wasn't my salad so I couldn't take a picture of it. The pasta, sausage and peppers, baked chicken, roast beef, potatoes and eggplant Parmesan was extremely overcooked. The best thing I ate was the steamed vegetables. Everything was also very bland. The establishment itself is very outdated and the name, "Manor Inn" should've been an indicator that it was a close relative to a retirement home. There are much better banquet halls. Having previously enjoyed their anniversary special dinner offerings in celebration of years 47 and 48, it should come to no one's surprise that we arrived on a Wednesday in April for another multi-course meal. Once again prime rib was among the offerings along with a glass of wine, salad of the dreaded iceberg variety, a choice of potato (baked was our selection), steamed squash of little taste and dessert (lemon cake) with choice of coffee or tea. Had an interesting experience here...we had a table of 8 for two birthday celebrations and they pushed a few tables together in the middle of the restaurant and it was very tight. the owner was so kind and brought us over the other side of the restaurant which looks like more of a private seating area. it was hot in there and the lights were bright and she immediately took care of that, which was amazing! However, we were there for almost three hours and services was rather slow. I had the pasta fagoli and the garlic bread included with it was amazing and the soup was good but not my favorite. i ended up ordering the chicken piccata with pasta as my entree and was sooo disappointed. It was very soup like and the chicken had no seasoning or flavor to it, which was a let down. You get a lot for the price, but I value quality over quantity. I will say their drinks are so strong in the best way possible. But...our waitress said we ordered three of the same drinks and we only ordered two of them so that was just an awkward situation. read more

Then to top it off, the waitress was not satisfied with her tip and followed the person who paid her outside to address her that the tip was not enough. Very, very unprofessional. After a funeral had a buffet where to start, the roast beef was processed and was not baked on premise it had a chemical taste that I am aware of, the so-called meatballs were with not flavor and had a lot of bread filling, the roasted chicken was dry and had no Flavor, the mixed veggies also had no flavor, the salmon was cooked ok but it had a sweet sauce and was not palatable to me not for traditional cooded salmon, the coffee was weak and useless. Also had to keep asking the servers for more coffee that is unacceptable for service. I spent a lot of time at the Manor back in late 70's and early 80s. They used to have a pool table in the bar and we go to drink beer and play pool. Since my parents had moved off and left me behind to finish school I also had many an Italian Dinner at the bar as the food was great especially for a hungry 20 something year old who was single and didn't have mom's cooking anymore. So just this past July I had to attend a funeral for a friends Mom who passed away at 97. After laying her to rest we went to the Manor and had a nice buffet waiting for us. They did a very nice job. Sadly the pool table is long gone and now Manor Inn is first class dining. Food better than ever. Especially the Eggplant Parm. Went back for dinner a couple weeks later with friends who had also not been there in years. We all liked it and will definitely go back. From what I understand the cost of the catering was quite reasonable. Now with the new Stonebridge development nearby at the Rt 10 exit off I=691. They'll likely become a very busy place. read more

I've been to the Manor Inn twice now and can say each time I had an excellent experience- the first was a dinner with my immediate family for my parents' 25th anniversary dinner and the other was yesterday for my bridal shower. My mother planned my shower and said over and over how seamless and accommodating the whole planning process was working with John and Joe. The food is always great at the Manor Inn! I especially love their dinner rolls and pasta and meatballs! I also have to compliment their bellinis because they were definitely the star at my bridal shower. So delicious! The service was also impeccable. Every time I saw a server they asked me if I wanted a refill for my drink or if I got enough food and asked me how I was doing or if I needed anything at all. I really appreciated this! The room we booked was the PERFECT size to accommodate my guests. I did not have that many people at my shower but because of the room size it looked and felt like a full house! It was so nice! After my shower was over the staff helped us clean up and wrap up our leftovers. We did not feel rushed to leave and felt completely welcomed the entire event! I would highly recommend planning any type of event here whether it be an anniversary dinner, night out with friends, or a bridal shower. This was the first time I visited the Manor Inn to try their a'la carte menu. My previous visits were all for banquets, and its hard to really judge a restaurant by that. Arriving early, I stopped at the bar for a drink. One of the other members of my party was already there, and the bartender took our orders and served them immediately. Soon after that, the rest of our party arrived and we were shown into a private room (this was a working dinner meeting). The server asked how we would like to pace ourselves--order immediately, or get some work done and then order. We chose the latter, and she promptly disappeared, but came back often to check on us. When we were ready to order, she was ready with pad and pencil, and within minutes, our salads arrived. Timing was impeccable, since she no sooner cleared our plates away, when our entrees were ready. She discretely stayed out of our way while we finished our meeting, but was close enough to clear plates and check if we needed anything else. When we were finished, she came back with checks--she took the time to write us separate checks without asking! What a stellar move on her part! As to the food: A great menu with a little bit of something to please all but the pickiest eater. I chose baked stuffed shrimp, and they came out with a generous cup of melted butter. I splurged on my diet a but and ordered pasta instead of a potato. It was cooked al dente, and the sauce was almost as good as my grandmother's. Prices were more than reasonable, and there was a good selection of wines to pick from. This is a place that I would go to again. read more

This place sucks. Came for a baby shower. Food was bland and basic and just not good. Service sucked. I asked for a coffee about 6-7x and everytime was told "we'll come around with it." .... A customer told you they wanted something so GO GET IT ?? NOW? Like why do I need to beg for a cup of coffee... they also put up a divider wall squeezing us all in one half of the room... on the other half of the divider no one was there. Why?? I would never book an event here again. The refusal to fill our coffees really sent me over the edge like what are you thinking declining a customers request for a drink refill.... My parents still visit this restaurant on the regular and they always enjoy the food and the friendly staff. It doesn't hurt that the food is great too! ​I grew up in Southington and would often go to the Manor Inn on special occasions for surf and turf. It was always so good. I recently moved back to Southington after many years away. I decided to stop by the MI for the surf and turf that I hadn't had in so long. It was awful. It took an hour to get our food. The baked stuffed shrimp was dry and overcooked. It was obvious that they used small, precooked frozen shrimp like you would use for shrimp cocktail, and just threw stuffing on it. The stuffing was like paste and was undercooked. It didn't have anything added to it like celery or crab meat, just plain, soggy cracker meal. The filet was so tough, that I really had to use some muscle to cut it. My companion got baked stuffed shrimp as an entree and sent it back. She ordered chicken marsala instead. It was tender, but the sauce was bland and flavorless and obviously made from cheap powdered mix. She sent that back too and just gave up on ordering anything else. The veggies that were served with her shrimp were cheap frozen ones like you'd get in a hospital or school cafeteria. You know, the crinkle-cut ones that are mushy and colorless? I ate half of one shrimp because I couldn't get the shell off of them. I ate about a quarter of the filet. For the price, I expected something that was at least edible. The service was excellent though. I made sure to tip our waitress very well because she didn't deserve to lose out because of the terrible food. What happened to you, Manor Inn? Wednesday is a day the family is together so a treat of chicken parm seemed in order. We called it in & there was curbside so after I got out of work was a perfect situation. I drove up but didn't see any signage so I waited by the bar as I know they had served there in the past. After a couple minutes of no response - called again to find out where the pickup was. I was told to drive around to the loading dock. It would have been nice if the had told us when the food was ordered (or have signs directing?). I drove around to the loading dock & she was most courteous bringing the food out. We had gotten the soup for a change over the salad. There was a choice of onion soup or corn chowder. We got them both and they were both excellent. Next was the chicken Parmesan and the pasta which both were excellent too. They included meatballs we didn't find the taste appealing. In either taste or texture. In conclusion they would receive five starts if they communicate where the curbside is located & totally change the meatball recipe! read more

Brought some people here from work. The serve HUGE portions, go light on the apps! The calamari was tender and crispy, Eggplant Rollatini was delicious also! I had the veal braciole stuffed with spinach and mozzeralla and a tasty mushroom brown gravey...delicious! It came with two gigantic bracioles, I could only eat 3/4 of one! We went here for an early dinner on 2/10/19 and we both ordered the prime rib, medium. As an app, I ordered the NE clam chowder. The chowder was tasty and as expected. The prime rib took forever to be served and arrived lukewarm at best. The meat itself was well prepared and would have been great if it had been warmer. My wife and I had each ordered a baked potato. I was served mashed potato which I didn't eat. My wife was served a baked potato which was cold and overcooked to the point of being brown in color. The accompanying veggies were mushy and also went uneaten. We took most of the meat home where I'll properly heat it and hopefully enjoy it soon. Had a wedding reception here (sometime last year). The prices for the all-inclusive packages were great and they are willing to work with you on substituting their package includes (for example we only wanted beer and wine). The local company that makes their wedding cakes is delicious. They did a good job setting everything up. For taste testing the menu, they were very generous and helpful. They let our family try whole dishes. We were very appreciative of that. The food was generally VERY good. They are easy to talk to and are family owned type of business. Two things I didn't like. First was the terrible communication between managers. From settings times to talking to someone or just going over last minute plans, no one was left with all the details that the other collected. It happened on our wedding night too. There was some poor communication between the managers regarding the alterations to the beer and wine choices. We were promised one premier beer. The night of our wedding, my guests were coming up to me saying they had to pay for it. I spoke to the manager explained everything and they took care of it. No more paying for it. Only issue was they didn't have enough of the premium beer (and ran out before the end of the night). We had to switch to Bud Light. Second thing I didn't like. When I brought up mention of the missing premium beer from the menu, they told me that one of our tables had snuck in some liquor to the wedding (might of been nippers or something...) Not familiar with weddings but wasn't sure they should of mentioned it to me while I was trying to enjoy my night with my new wife (it was right before the toast or dinner, i think). I felt the best way to handle it would of been to address my guests. I instead had to go over to the accused table and tell them that they were going to get in trouble. read more

First time eating here. I came in we 6 people. I had the fish n chips. My date had the stuff sole florentine. Both portions where large! So much food. It was tasty. Waitress so on the money. She was friendly and attentive to our table. Made everyone feel comfortable. Only reason I can't give this restaurant a 5 star rating, is the drinks. Soda's where flat and my vodka tonic was missing vodka! Also, tonic was flat as well. Coffee wasn't hot enough. All in all a good meal and yes I would visit again. read more

The Manor Inn is not my favorite restaurant but my mother really loves it. This is an establishment with outdated decor, fake plants, white table cloths, candelabras, and such. Definitely geared towards an older, more nostalgic group of adults. Honestly, this is not the best restaurant for children. Our meal took so long that the kids couldn't keep still through the appetizers and the adults at the table needed to take turns walking them around the restaurant or playing with them in the entryway. We had mixed opinions on the food. Our appetizers were wonderful, the calamari and shrimp were incredibly fresh and delicious. Our meals, on the other hand, were not as good. The filet mignon wasn't cooked properly with the fat side down and the pasta was overcooked. That definitely needed improvement. The service was ok, although our waitress did seem a little annoyed that we brought children with us, she was nice anyways. Not a place for kids. Not a place for a date. A decent place to bring grandma for the early bird special. read more

The main course was a different story though. 2 fish dishes were decent, 2 steaks, neither of which were cooked properly and when one had to be replaced it took over 20 minutes to get it!! Visited here for a rehearsal dinner and had a great experience. We were offered about 4 dinner options and 3 appetizers (family style). Loved their fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. I enjoyed my maple salmon dinner served with a baked potato and veggies. My husband had the prime rib dinner which he enjoyed and was a huge portion. Only complaint would be the cocktails were not great and our waitress seemed very unfamiliar with the drink menu.
