A fish and a pork belly taco--total yum...
    Sheri S.

Great place! I had their small salad--it was huge!!! I thought they accidentally gave me a large. And it was sooooo flavorful and chockful of delicious things. I asked my bartender/server what else might go with it, and he recommended that I get a couple of tacos--by accident I chose his two favorites: one was cod; the other, pork belly. Both fantastic. The Prince's Peach cocktail and the No-Negroni (n/a mocktail) were outstanding! Uniquely flavorful. Wonderful staff, charming place. I love it!

Black sheep is a super cute trendy taco spot! I really like the layout and airyness of the space. We hit their happy hour and went for the guacamole and some tacos. I don't know if I ended up with a bunch of jalapeno seeds in the guac or what but it was very very spicy (I can handle my spice) and I had to drink like 4 glasses of water and my beer to release the fire from my tongue. lol. Our server was so lovely, and we were seated right away. She helped us make our beer selections and had a great sense of humor. My friend really enjoys this place but I found it to be a bit expensive and that the meat itself didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Willing to come back and try the vegetarian options though.

This is by far and away one of the best restaurants in Bellingham and surrounding areas. I was transported back to CA bay area, where hipsters run the bar scene. The server was cool but very helpful and attentive. I had an incredible mocktail and two tacos. The mocktail was a Pina colada inspired liquid drink, that was not too sweet and absolutely heavenly. The tacos had great flavor, but something was lost in translation in the assembly, the meat was a tad overcooked. The restaurant was quite dim, giving it much more of a bar vibe. I look forward to trying everything on the menu!

On our way back from Blaine we stopped in Bellingham for a late lunch. Black Sheep was the top recommendation and we decided to try it. We got Chicken Tinga & Soyrizo tacos, and Chorizo Nachos. The nachos were amazing, the best nachos I have ever had. We loved the tacos. I then also got a Baja Fish taco, it was very good. We chatted with server, and he said he loved the nachos too and it's the cheese sauce that made it so special. We'll definitely be back.

We went to this place for their tacos and loved them. What stood out was that the vegetarian tacos were great too and maybe even better than the non vegetarian ones. We tried mushroom kale, Potato, Chicken Tinga and Fish tacos; mushroom kale one was the best out of the 4 but we pretty much loved all of them. Drinks were refreshing too and not overly sweet. Would definitely visit again if up North in that area. The place allows dogs in the outdoor seating only.

We just stop by to grab some tacos on the way back from Vancouver BC to Seattle. They have good music and decent tacos with a generous portion of proteins. Our server was attentive also. This is a fun casual place to hang out with friends or come on a casual date. If we are craving tacos again, we don't mind coming back here again.

Friendly service and very flavorful food. The house salad is a must do with delicious house made dressing. We tried 4 types of tacos and wish we had tried them all, they were THAT GOOD. Loved the cactus wallpaper in the cute bathroom :) The salsas were top notch and house made along with the tortillas.

Overall: One of the more memorable taco experiences I've had in awhile, would definitely recommend! The good: The tacos are delicious, filling, and fresh. I was worried that 2 wouldn't be enough (along with sharing a guac appetizer), but that wasn't a problem. I went with the classic carne asada and the baja fish, and both were incredible and flavorful. The tacos came out promptly and were hot, and they have plenty of drinks to choose from. Both indoor and outdoor seating, and we were able to walk in on a Friday for lunch. The not-so-good: Honestly not much. I was going to argue that they are a tad expensive ($5-6 dollars a taco), but like I said they are filling and delicious and that seems to be an average rate nowadays. Food/drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10

Pork belly taco left, fish taco right. They look small but are dense and the tortilla is excellent.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had in the northwest. Great vibe, great service, phenomenal food and happy hour.

Good eats and drink. Nonalcoholic iced tea spiced with habanero was good. Two of the pork belly tacos made for a solid lunch. Bar service was great. Street parking (paid).

I hadn't been to the Black Sheep in several years, so I was excited when some family members suggested we meet there for lunch last weekend. From its exposed brick walls to its over-the-top tacos, Black Sheep continues to deliver tasty eats at its iconic downtown Bham location. I started with a locally brewed Mexican Lager (served with a fresh slice o' lime, of course) and waited for the rest of the group to get there. When everyone arrived, we started with some appies: a big ol 'bowl of impossibly fresh guac, and a bowl of their famous spicy black bean dip. Both were excellent! Then we dove into some tacos (I got a fish taco and a chicken tinga) and they were filling and delicious. Their taco prices might seem a little high, but really it only takes 1-2 tacos to fill you up. These aren't your typical, tiny street food tacos. There were two vegans in our group and they were thrilled at the many meat-free options on the menu. Our server was very friendly and attentive too. I'll definitely keep the Black Sheep on my list for a good lunch or dinner in the Ham!

We came for happy hour on Tuesday and it was very affordable. The tacos are worth every penny. I had carne asada and will be dreaming of that flavoring for a while. 10/10 space and a great location. Not the best for larger groups. Service was interesting it seemed like the servers were very relaxed and slow paced, which made us more comfortable. They didn't try to rush us out.

    Pork belly taco

Amazing tacos! I don't like tacos, but wow I love black sheep tacos! The pork belly is my absolute favorite. There's so much flavor and the chutney doesn't taste too fruity since it's mango pineapple which I also dislike. The pork belly was juicy and the corn tortilla is so soft and fresh. I love the fish tacos too but I had such a tiny piece in it. Finally the Carne asada was tender and tasty. Usually beef is always dry and chewy. This was cooked perfectly with all the toppings and really the tortilla is the winner for me. There's a drive through window. You need to press the door bell for service and can order online from their website! If you come early they tell you to come back for pick up. Overall, delicious and I will be back!

Looks like a hole in the wall from outside which we know is usually where good food comes from but talk about sketch and questionable. Hard to navigate small lot. Park in back where someone appears to be looking for drugs in grass around cars. Someone is beating carpets outside with gloves on. We see a few people on patio and in the weird area through the entryway window sitting to eat. They close at 10. We showed a little after 8. Confused walking into a small market and where to order, we turn toward the meat counter. There's a register. You hear voices but no people to be seen. There's a limited menu above meat counter. We stood awkwardly waiting. The person beating the carpets walls in from back with gloves still on and pushes past us. Doesn't say a word. Stands in front of register and just stares loathing us. Awesome start. I ask if this is where we order food. She nods. I say I'd like to place an order for here. She says at this time they're only doing takeout. We are far from home, don't want to eat in car. We see patrons eating with seating available. She stands silently holding her broom with rbf permanent on face seemingly annoyed I interrupted her night. At this point exhausted with the exchange, I just want food. We keep the order simple to get out of this insufferable person's aura. But wait, problems with order. I don't even remember the full interaction after that at this point but I remember them saying they ran out of meats so there was chicken or vegetable. I'm sure that's someone's choice but not ours. It's not even worth trying to make it work. I remember trying to kill with kindness because maybe she's just having a day but once we changed our minds and decided to leave, couldn't believe it was possible to get icier. I feel bad for people like that. This woman seemed to hate her job and people. This is the only impression we will ever have of this place. Will never come back. I'm sure the food is edible but honestly wouldn't trust it. Looks dirty in there. She was still wearing the carpet beating gloves at the register. Idk about Bellingham code but hope they pass for yalls sake. There were seemingly a million and one places to get Mexican food in Bellingham. Choose a place where they treat you right and you're not afraid the register lady is going to sabotage your food and no one will break into your car looking for drugs. We ended up going to a fantastic Mexican restaurant with the best food and despite it being 20 mins to close over at that place, they were so kind and amazing. And the ambiance was so wonderful. If you have to choose, pick literally anywhere else.
