I really wanted to love the Loft because of the beautiful location on the water but unfortunately it was a miss! The drinks were good and apps came out quickly but one of our entrees didn't come out for 30 mins after the rest and the food was really mid. I honestly didn't love really anything we got besides the fries that came with the cod and chips with the spicy sauce. I will give them credit that they gave us a comp'd dessert because of the delay but it would have been better to just comp that entree as it was a dessert that none of us really enjoyed. On the plus side- this was a really fun kids meal! Started with crayons and a coloring sheet and the meal comes in a paper pirate ship! My daughter loved the mac and cheese (the apples were mushy though) and there were fruit snacks hidden underneath the boat. There is also a treasure chest kids can choose a prize from (think sticky hand, rubber bracelet, etc) if they "eat their meal" as they leave.

Spent Valentine's Day here with my wife and was very happy we chose this place. Had the Cajun Mac and Cheese and was delicious. Started with a small plate of queso dip and salsa chips followed with a pink lemonade vodka drink. Very nice atmosphere with a new view of the Bay. We will be coming back.

I had the cod fish and chips. The fries were not my favorite, but I enjoyed the tartar sauce and ranch ! So good . The regular burger was tasty . I had the hazelnut MartinI Tolberone martini was better . I wish I would have gotten that. Lalo was are server . She was friendly and welcoming. The decor was dated . I loved the view of the boats on the water as it was raining. .

So yummy and a perfect meal!!! Chowder was excellent, both of our entries were delicious. I love that I can substitute the fries to grilled asparagus!! We will be back! Our server Jude was great!!

For an appetizer we ordered their avocado fries. I'm not sure who came up with breading and frying strips of avocado but they were really surprisingly good and quite unique. For our entree we shared steak tacos, which were very yummy! I asked for pico de gio and they brought us a huge cup of it. When we were seated the hostess asked if we had any food allergies that they needed to be aware of. It was a nice extra step to show concern for the patrons food sensitivities. Our server, Matti , yes she actually introduced herself ( a rarity nowadays!) was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is situated directly on the water down on the harbor. The dining room is long with lots of wood acsents and huge windows looking over the boats. We sat on the patio for an even better view and fresh evening air.

Ambiance and location were great. Servers were amazing. Food was pretty good but wasn't completely thrilled. Would definitely go again if someone invited me

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

We came in for an early dinner so we were really able to enjoy the rustic ambience of this restaurant all by ourselves. As soon as we sat down the waitress was attentive and ready to take our order. I order the garden party off their cocktail menu. Snap pea gin, bay leaf vermouth, genepy, saline and pea shoot? I really was feeling adventurous with this one, a regrettable mistake. The first sip I thought I was drinking sea water with a touch of olive oil in it. I never send back drinks although I was close with this one, I sipped it throughout my meal. One critique I have about the cocktail menu is that every drink was over complicated with many exotic ingredients. There was nothing for someone who was looking for a simple craft cocktail. The table shared the Strawberry Panzanella, and once again I was accosted by an overwhelming salty and sour flavor. A traditional Italian salad consisting of grilled strawberry and focaccia croutons. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on this salad was salty and sour, and very overpowering. Unlike my drink we were unable to finish this one. I ordered the Roe Burger, which I had been really looking forward to trying, thankfully this one did not disappoint. Two smash burger patties that were thin, crispy, and cooked to perfection with slices of cheddar cheese on top are then placed on a bed of classic burger toppings. Tomato, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. This burger was served with crispy fries and garlic aioli. After my fist few bites my mind was beginning to change about this restaurant. We also shared the Reuben Croquettes. A super creative and unique spin on one of my personal favorite appetizers. These little fried pocket were filled with a delicious mixture of cheese and shredded corned beef. They were garnished with a small slice of pickle which was a great touch. For dessert we decided to try the hazelnut torte which was fantastic. It had a nice crisp outer layer with a soft gooey center. Lovely flavor and texture that ended our experience at Roe wonderfully. In conclusion our experience at Roe had its ups and downs but I left feeling satisfied. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience I would give this restaurant a try.

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess at a table in DT Fairhaven, and our server was the bartender. After being seated, we waited a long time without anyone taking our order. We eventually asked if we had a server and were told it was him, with no apology or explanation. We ordered drinks and food, but after more than 40 minutes, we noticed two tables seated after us had already been served, finished eating, and were leaving. At that point, we asked for the check and said we would not be staying. About 15 minutes later, the server returned with our food instead of the check. We declined the meal and sent it back. He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it. The service, however, was well below expectations given the restaurant's reputation. This was lunch on July 15, 2026. We may try The Black Cat again in the future, hoping this was just an off day.

There is some outdoor seating for those warm summer evenings. The service was fine. The drinks were also fine and fairly priced. The menu choices are fairly limited, and the entrees are all on the pricey side, especially the scallops. We shared the ricotta & toast appetizer and the chicken liver mousse. The ricotta consistency was very soft, almost whipped and needed salt, but there was no salt or pepper on the tables. The flavor of the chicken liver dish, under a rather thick layer of fat, was excellent; however, "mousse" is supposed to be soft but this was so cold that it was hard. Both items were served with an inadequate portion of toasted baguette which insured that more had to be ordered! Still, taste-wise, this and the duck fries were the hit of the night. The 4 beautifully large scallops were partially undercooked, the burgers came topped with "sauce chien" (dog sauce) with no warning that it might be too spicy for some, and the "creative" duck confit, left me wishing for the "classic" preparation! I don't see a return visit for us.

The food was mostly very good, but what really stood out for me was the small but excellent wine list had some outstanding values. The Matthews Cabernet - which is sold at the winery for $50 / bottle - was $48 at the restaurant, and the Orin Swift Papillon - which retails for $90 - was $80 at the restaurant, and they serve the wine with good quality Riedel glassware. The Burrata Peach Salad and Gems Salad were both delicious. A couple of the fresh oysters were a bit mushy. The Pan Seared Lamb Chops were cooked just right (medium rare) and the pickled blackberries offered an interesting twist. I'm told the Hamburger and French Dip were also very good.

This was our 33rd anniversary meal, and I'm fairly certain we'll be eating elsewhere for our 34th. The drinks were decent, so no complaints there. The bread used to be complimentary and served upon being seated - no more. That's now a $6 starter. The salads/chowder were delivered promptly and were quite good. Things went downhill from there. They were not busy at all and it was well over 45 minutes before we were served our entrees. The salmon was decent, but you had to get past everything else to even taste it - too much seasoning, pickled blackberries, and a blackberry sauce that drown out the salmon itself. The cod was also decent, though the brown rice served under it was wildly undercooked (pretty sure rice isn't supposed to crunch). Serving sizes were also small for the price, as others have noted. We're not generally ones to send food back, so we endured. Dessert was also a let down - banana cheesecake was very bland, and who puts some sort of berry flavored sauce under apple pie?? Our server was nice, so no issues there. But when spending $250 on a dinner for 2 the expectations around the food are somewhat higher than "meh". We might go sit in the bar for a cocktail and a snack, but as for a higher end evening/meal out the LH B&G has unfortunately fallen off of our list of possible options.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a young boy, attending special family dinners or just going to get pizza after soccer practice. Now well into adulthood I still find myself coming here with my wife for an excellent dining experience, any time or day of the week. This week we decided to go in for brunch, and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a dreary Washington morning. When you walk into this cozy little restaurant the smells of fresh breads and fried potatoes invite you into an elevated breakfast experience. Our hostess sat us down at a table almost immediately with the same friendly smile and welcoming attitude that I have come to expect from the staff at the fork. After sitting down and sipping of fresh squeezed orange juice we ordered two of our favorite breakfast plates. Chicken Fried Steak, and Corned Beef Hash. The Corned Beef Hash consisted two poached eggs sitting on a heaping pile of shredded corned beef that was both crispy and tender. Typically this dish is served with peppers and onions, but on this trip my wife opted out and the chef was happy to oblige our request. I can say from prior experiences that the peppers and onions are a fantastic addition to this mix. I went with the Chicken fried steak. A classic breakfast that requires a large appetite to face on your own! The cube steak was breaded and fried with the traditional seasonings, then covered in a house made gravy that was so rich and flavorful I couldn't put my fork down. I ordered mine with over medium eggs that were cooked perfectly, something that other kitchens can rarely get right. If you are a fan of Chicken Fried Steak then you must try this one! Both of our plates came with a large portion of golden brown home fries, and a fluffy biscuit served with honey butter and a peach preserve. Our server was extremely nice and very attentive. Although the restaurant was fairly busy she made sure our every need was taken care of :) I once again left the fork feeling full, and extremely satisfied.
