We had a flat white and cortoda, both were excellent!FYI major construction right now on main st,you can park in the little alleyway in back. If you can avoid it,skip using restroom. The homeless person somehow grabbed the key and made a real bad mess in there(.My husband noticed a lot of homeless in that parking lot)

Great vibe and naturalist style local merch inside this cool little coffee shop. I loved all the local art, the community bulletin board, and the welcoming ambiance here. Yummy vegan breakfast burrito, and my Banana Bread Latte was perfectly flavored. My husband got an americano and said the coffee was really good. Adding this to our rotation of breakfast spots when in the E.S. =)

While passing through Bishop we decided to check out a local coffee shop. Black Sheep Espresso Bar was a cute little coffee shop with tons of seating inside and a large patio area out back. The staff here was extremely friendly and pretty quick getting out the coffees even with the decent amount of people here. We decided to have a fruit croissant and a ham and cheese danish. These were pretty tasty, but the real winner was the Banana Bread Latte from the Fall Specials. It literally tasted like a fresh homemade banana bread straight out of the oven!

Cute little coffee shop nestled away in Bishop. We were looking for some hot bean water while charging the car and we always try to stay with small local shops. This one did not disappoint at all, the service was great, they even put up with my wife calling a medium a grande..... for a second I thought we were getting kicked out. Jokes aside, this place has killer ambiance and the decor is really fun to look at. They also have lots of small things on sale that you could bring back home with you. We got 2 pastries, not the absolute best but for what it's worth they were tasty and filled us up. The standout here was the special Banana Bread Latte, that thing is KILLER!!!! Great job on whoever made that. If you are passing through the area and need your coffee fix, this place will hit the spot. They also have clean bathrooms, and amusing bathroom art....

The loveliest staff ! The coolest vibes! Overall just the coffee shop I was in search for during my Bishop trip. It's so spacious and has all the delicious smells. I tried out a pumpkin spice matcha and it was the best I have ever had. I would definitely plan another trip into Bishop to try out their coffee!

So good. We went here 3 days in a row! Everything was amazing, some of the best matcha I've had. Definitely recommend the cherry blossom matcha. The employees are super friendly and welcoming :) will absolutely come back next time I'm here! Loved the outdoor seating as well, great environment.

super cute cafe with lots of outdoorsy prints and pictures to look at. we ordered the: - iced oat banana matcha: not a super strong matcha but we ordered half sweet and could taste every component - iced oat banana bread latte: also ordered this half sweet and it was really good!

A really great coffee spot in Bishop that opens early. I almost missed the store, but I found the entrance in the back where there was parking. Service was very friendly. We got the Banana Bread Latte and Dirty Chai Latte. They put cute art on the lattes. The drinks were perfectly hot, not burning hot. Very great lattes.

A friend recommended the banana bread latte and saw lots of positive reviews online, and let me say that it did not disappoint. From the first sip, your mouth is blasted with banana bread flavor which complements the espresso well. I really liked the mural behind, and parking behind is easy to find with lots of wide spots. Definitely a go to place for some caffeine in Bishop! Service was quick, and the baristas were friendly!

This was a nice discovery while passing through Bishop. I was in need of a quick pick-me-up for the road and was looking for a quality cup of coffee. Black Sheep Espressos Bar prides themselves on the quality of the beans that they use for their coffee products. The coffeeshop itself is a nice comfortable space that looks like it would be a great place to sit and network or study at. On the menu are espresso drinks, teas, freshly bakes items and breakfast burritos. You can purchase their coffee beans to take home in the merchandise area. I loved my iced latte and enjoyed my quick visit to Black Sheep Espresso. There is parking on the side of the building and in the back. If you park in the back, there is a cool mural to look at before you go in.

Only coffee shops that make a difference in our mornings get a place on our jug of adventure.

I visited Schats on a solo road trip up the 395 to celebrate my birthday. I had heard much about…read morethis famous bakery, from its sheepherder sandwiches to the pull apart sweet breads, this bakery certainly did not disappoint. Food: When you first walk in, the impression you get with Schats is "Wow". And wowed you shall be because the whole store is absolutely stacked with breads, cookies, savory loaves, twists, cakes, pastries, and baked goods of all shapes, sizes, and flavorful persuasion. I came in prepared however, determined to try a half order each if their beef and turkey sandwiches, and decided to treat myself to some of the sweet baked goods from their extensive sweets section. While I was disappointed by the amount of meat on my sandwiches, I marveled at the flavor and textural cohesion unified in the simple sandwiches. What looks like a basic veggie-mayo-meat quickly becomes a homey culinary experience with the light and fluffy yet hearty sheepherder bread. Where you might expect an overwhelming mouthful of veg (thanks to the substantial sprouts), I'm met with a cohesive bite of delicate fresh flavors that meld together in a delightful sandwich. Safe to say, this is a sandwich sandwich. Not something stacked between bread, but a thoughtful creation that is greater than the sum of its parts. A true sandwich. The complimentary pickle spears and cookie that comes with your sandwich order is a perfect pairing, and I'd highly recommend these sandwiches if youve never tried them! I also got the Apple fritter, grandma cinnamon roll, old fashioned bar, and the apple strudel thing for my desserts to try (not at once). Each had a lovely texture. I disapprove of donuts that don't retain their moisture and texture, but Schats delivers on both marks especially for their old fashioned and Apple fritter donuts which retain a moist fluffy interior with the right amount of crisp. They are also not too heavy, a high mark in my book. The cinnamon roll was delightful with just the right amount of cinnamon and walnuts, the apple strudel thing was mildly disappointing however as the dough was overly dense and difficult to cut/bite into without squeezing out all the filling. Service: Schats staff are friendly, but this is an in and out institution. With the reputation it has, it's no surprise that things are structured to move quickly as there are a constant stream of customers flowing. Even so, staff are happy to answer questions and chat if they have a moment! They made me feel welcome despite being a clear tourist. Ambiance: Schats has a lovely charm to the interior and exterior. It is reminiscent of what I imagine a rustic German/european bakery would look and feel like, and dining at the outdoor seating or perusing the bakeries stacked displays and carts is a wonderfully charming experience. Highly recommend for a fun and lighthearted break that foodies, families, friends will love. Especially as you travel the 395! Overall 5/5 a perfect experience to add onto your 395 itinerary. Definitely do not miss the baked goodies and bread :)

Now, we know why! Everything we ordered was made soooo bad. And, it took soooo long. My power wrap had so much spinach in it, and barely any of the other veggies. Also, the hummus was a thin layer of (picture a thin layer of mustard amount) and not a nice remotely visible or generous layer of hummus! My husband's veggie sandwich was also all spinach, with one thin slice of red onion, and one teaspoon of avocado slice. Pathetic. I wish I was kidding. Our smoothies were full of the frozen fruit, and sparing on the good ingredients (dates, chia, hemp). Basically, they are overloading on the cheaper bulk items, and stingy on the good ingredients. We spent $50 and tipped 20% ...on awful food. The young woman working clearly lacked any care for her job. Sadly, though, the last time I came here I had a different employee but same results. Suffice to say we will not be back again.
