I go to the movies often and have logged serious hours in theaters across the region, but Regal…read moreLynbrook remains firmly locked in as one of my absolute favorites. The baseline infrastructure here is already elite--the theater layout is pristine, parking is remarkably easy when parking in the "unofficial lot"! The staff operates with a level of helpful efficiency you rarely see at a massive multiplex. What sets this place apart is how aggressively they continue to improve on the user experience. They've recently introduced a dedicated heating lamp area for their kitchen items, a brilliant shift that completely eliminates the dreaded 5-to-15-minute lobby wait for hot food. You can grab your order and head straight to the register. If you book the RPX experience, the setup is flawless. In addition to the heavy-duty attachable trays that pull directly in front of you, which is a great feature, you the get the massive, plush luxury recliners. It completely changes the game, allowing you to securely set up a full spread--which, at this location, means stepping way past standard popcorn into an actual menu of salads, premium wraps, sandwiches, and ice-cold beer. It's great way to enjoy a movie. This place was awesome from day one, and it's only getting better. The Atmosphere & Comfort (5/5): Top-tier cinema luxury. The RPX auditorium is immaculately maintained, and the integration of the personal food trays with the luxury recliners should be mandatory for all modern theaters. Food & Logistics (4.5/5): The new heating lamp system is a massive quality-of-life upgrade that respects the viewer's time. Having quick, immediate access to a diverse menu makes the concessions line genuinely worth it.

The ticket checker was incredibly disrespectful and physically put her hand directly in my friend's face. When my friend understandably told her to stop, another employee threatened to call the police on us for doing absolutely nothing wrong. To make matters worse, the manager, David, completely dismissed our side of the story. Instead of addressing his abusive staff, he kicked us out. We paid our hard-earned money for a movie, got harassed by staff, and were forced to leave while the instigator faced zero consequences. We are actively contacting corporate to file a formal complaint. Avoid this place at all costs.

I've been to the Kew Gardens Cinema a couple of times. I've always had a pleasant experience. They…read moreshow films that not many other theaters in NYC show. I came here on Friday to see the new Ralph Fiennes film that no other theater in NY was playing! Very easy to get to. The Kew Gardens LIRR stop is right across the street. Several buses stop in the area. Along with the F and E trains. Its a very old school cinema. The prices reflect that as well. For a 2 PM Friday showing I only paid $10. That's a steal. You can either buy tickets at the concessions stand or just scan your ticket from Fandango, etc. at the concessions stand and they'll print out your ticket. You really don't need it, though. The bathrooms are to the left when you come in. Lots of stalls with a long mirror across the entire wall. Everything was fairly clean and tidy. There's also a little area before the bathroom where you can sit and wait if you're early. I was in auditorium 5 the last time I was here. Which is on the second floor. The size of the theaters are on the smaller size, but not cramped. The seats are outdated and a bit flimsy, but not uncomfortable. They don't show millions of adverts and previews like other places do. The screens expand before the movie starts. Good sound and picture. The entire place is decorated with a vintage vibe. I love it. Everyone was friendly and they dont search your purses like other places do. I will definitely be back!

It's an old-school theater with charm, comfy, padded stadium seats in Theater 3 and assigned seating is a nice touch. The bathrooms are outdated (push-button sinks felt unhygienic), and there's no parking lot, but street parking was easy on a weekday night. They don't run late-night shows, but for the price and atmosphere, it's worth a visit.

Cinemart is a full-service movie theater showing all the latest releases just like any major chain. Ticket prices are also far more reasonable than chain theaters. As of May 2026, a regular ticket is $13 compared to $22 at Regal UA Midway on Queens Blvd. You can buy tickets and pick your seats online. Concessions are similarly well-priced, at $15 for a large popcorn and drink. The popcorn was fresh and not overly salty, and they have a melted butter dispenser. The leather seats are comfortable and spacious, and the theater felt very clean and well-maintained compared to some of the chain theaters I've been to. No popcorn or trash scattered over the floors and seats. Overall, Cinemart is a great place to see a new movie, support a local business, and save money while still getting a high-quality experience.

A Local Legend: Why Cinemart Cinemas is the Heart of Forest Hills…read moreIf you're tired of the soul-less, overpriced experience of "Big Cinema," Cinemart Cinemas in Forest Hills is the antidote. As the oldest continuously operated theater in Queens, it manages a rare feat: it feels like a step back in time without actually feeling dated. Here's why this independent gem remains a neighborhood favorite: The Perfect Blend of Old & New Originally a single-screen venue, the Cinemart has evolved into a modern five-screen multiplex while keeping its historic soul intact. You get the neighborhood "mom-and-pop" vibe the moment you walk in, but you aren't sacrificing modern comforts to get it. The Seating: Don't let the "historic" label fool you. The theaters are packed with plush reclining seats that rival (and often beat) the major chains. The Atmosphere: The cafe lounge area adds a touch of class, making it a great spot to decompress before or after a film. Unbeatable Value In an era where a night at the movies can feel like a car payment, Cinemart keeps it accessible. Their pricing is famously fair, but the real "crowd-pleaser" is their free popcorn promotions. Depending on the day or the deal, getting a fresh bucket of popcorn included with your ticket is a throwback to a time when theaters actually wanted you to come back next week. What's Playing? One of the best things about Cinemart is its eclectic programming. You'll find: Current Blockbusters: The big hits everyone is talking about. Second-Run Gems: Caught a movie a few weeks late? They often host films that have finished their run at larger theaters, giving you one last chance to see them on the big screen. Why It Matters Cinemart isn't just a place to watch a movie; it's a piece of Queens' history. Supporting this theater means supporting independent cinema and a local landmark that has survived decades of industry shifts. Pro Tip: Check their schedule mid-week! That's often when you'll find their best "ticket + popcorn" bundles, making it the most affordable date night or family outing in the borough. The Verdict: If you want luxury comfort, nostalgic charm, and prices that don't make you flinch, Cinemart Cinemas is the best ticket in town.
