Outside of the theater

Cinemart Cinemas is one of the oldest movie theaters around, and I love that they've kept that classic vibe while also adding modern comforts like updated seats. The tickets are the cheapest you'll find, and even the concession stand is very affordable compared to other theaters. The food is surprisingly good too, which makes it an even better value. They also run fun deals, like free popcorn on certain days, which just adds to the experience. Whenever they're showing a movie I want to see, I always choose to come here. It's a great mix of nostalgia, comfort, and value that keeps me coming back.

If you're searching for that classic, cozy neighborhood movie theater vibe, look no further than Cinemart in Forest Hills. This place is the epitome of a hidden gem. Tucked away on Metropolitan Avenue, it's the perfect spot for cinephiles and casual moviegoers alike who want to enjoy a film without the hustle and bustle of larger chains. What I love most about Cinemart is its charm. The theater is small but never feels cramped. The seats are surprisingly comfortable, and the ambiance just makes you feel at home. It's like stepping back in time to when going to the movies was a special occasion. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always greet you with a smile. You can tell they care about the place and their customers. The popcorn? Freshly popped and delicious, with just the right amount of butter. They even offer some unique snacks that you won't find at your typical multiplex. What really sets Cinemart apart is the sense of community. It's not uncommon to see families, couples, and solo movie enthusiasts chatting before and after the show. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the overall experience. Pro tip: Come early to snag the best seats, and don't miss out on their occasional special screenings of classic films. Whether you're a Queens local or just passing through, Cinemart Movie Theatre is worth the visit. It's a rare find that keeps the magic of the movies alive. Was on the area for a meeting, had lunch on a beautiful Bangladeshi Restaurant. Then decided to google nearest movie theaters. And that's what came up luckily ! Small, clean & beautiful theater! Stuff were very nice & helpful. And yes the tickets are cheaper !

Dump!!!

Total dump!! Floors so sticky , it's a miracle no one knocked their teeth out. Old grease covered chairs. Smell is equally disgusting!! Avoid at all cost.

A neighborhood favorite Cinemart has been opened since 1925! Yep the oldest operating theater in the borough of Queens! I love it's antique charm, from the bathrooms to the lobby and hallway decorations. The seats all recline which is one of the main reasons I love coming here with my family. Also if you want to save some money they offer half off on Tuesday ($8.00) and free popcorn now that's a reason to go for a movie on Tuesday. I do wish the theater was updated with a few more food choices like slushes for the kids, perhaps hotdogs and maybe nuggets. Hopefully once the Cafe opens up it will change things a bit.

What fun. Comfy reclining seats. Plenty of space for my grandson to sit on my lap during the exciting parts. Nice crowd. Pixar. Popcorn.

I came here on Friday to see the new Ralph Fiennes film that no other theater in NY was playing! Very easy to get to. The Kew Gardens LIRR stop is right across the street. Several buses stop in the area. Along with the F and E trains. Its a very old school cinema. The prices reflect that as well. For a 2 PM Friday showing I only paid $10. That's a steal. You can either buy tickets at the concessions stand or just scan your ticket from Fandango, etc. at the concessions stand and they'll print out your ticket. You really don't need it, though. The bathrooms are to the left when you come in. Lots of stalls with a long mirror across the entire wall. Everything was fairly clean and tidy. There's also a little area before the bathroom where you can sit and wait if you're early. I was in auditorium 5 the last time I was here. Which is on the second floor. The size of the theaters are on the smaller size, but not cramped. The seats are outdated and a bit flimsy, but not uncomfortable. They don't show millions of adverts and previews like other places do. The screens expand before the movie starts. Good sound and picture. The entire place is decorated with a vintage vibe. I love it. Everyone was friendly and they dont search your purses like other places do. I will definitely be back!

It's an old-school theater with charm, comfy, padded stadium seats in Theater 3 and assigned seating is a nice touch. The bathrooms are outdated (push-button sinks felt unhygienic), and there's no parking lot, but street parking was easy on a weekday night. They don't run late-night shows, but for the price and atmosphere, it's worth a visit.

I signed up right away to the drive-in site for future events notification. We are familiar in the area so getting to the drive-in is not a hassle at all. There are friendly staff members who guided the movie goers for effective parking and pleasurable viewing. The movie theater location is in the New York Hall of Science parking lot and the screen is fronting a good view of Terrace on the Park. The adaptable comfort zone is clean, convenient and follows Covid protocol. Luckily, we received a complimentary snack box courtesy of Apple TV+. The film is a free event too. Let's support the cause of this drive -in theater. It gives pleasure two ways.

LOL. To have one right in our borough, in our very crowded city, is such a treat. And it was all free. The second time we went we even got free treats left on our windshield. The staff was amazing. They led us through the maze of metal barricades and cones to the viewing area, made sure we were parked appropriately on the lawn, good enough to view the screen perfectly straight on, and helped us to turn all of our lights off. When we weren't able to tune them all off while still listening to the movie audio on our radio, they came around and lent us a portable radio. That way we could turn the car completely off and listen to the movie audio from their borrowed radio. There was also a food stand, but we had dinner beforehand and brought our own snacks, so we didn't order from them. All in all, a pretty awesome experience for the whole family. Thanks to all the staff and organizations that made it possible!

First, I will say that we purchased our tickets ahead of time to ensure we got the seats we wanted. We got them about 2-3 days beforehand, and it made everything a lot easier. When we arrived, we immediately got into the concession line as we knew we wanted to grab popcorn and some additional snacks. Because we hadn't eaten dinner yet, we also chose to get a pizza to share along with an Icee drink. These two items + a large popcorn cost us about $40 (oof!). So be prepared to spend if you want to snack while you're here. What we wish we would've known before arriving is that you can order your concession snacks via an app! We saw people walking in and going immediately to the "hot food ready" spot where they told the person their number and walked away with their pre-prepared snacks. Had we known this, we could've saved about 20 minutes of standing in line! This is a GREAT tip to remember, y'all! After getting our snacks, we made our way into the theater. Both my husband and I were in awe of the seats!!! All of them had personal "tables" that swiveled, allowing you to get into your seat then pull the little table in front of you so you can comfortably eat your snacks. The cup holders were massive AND, most importantly, ALL seats reclined back to a relaxing position! Not to worry, the row of seats in front of you is so low that when you recline back, you'll still be able to see the entire screen with nothing blocking it. Additionally, the isles of seats were pretty spacious. I got up mid-movie and had very little trouble getting out of my seated row, even with everyone reclined back with their feet up. Also, I wanted to note that they don't have a human that you purchase tickets from - you ca either but them online ahead of time (like we did) or you can purchase them at a kiosk when you first arrive. They do have a customer service desk if you need some help, but just keep this in mind. We live pretty close to this movie theater and look forward to seeing more movies here in the coming months!

The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. Overall, this felt like a subpar experience, and I won't be returning. My cousin mentioned the New Jersey location is much better, so maybe it's just this one--but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it.
