Came here to see Wicked recently with a friend. The theater building itself is on the older side and you can tell from the lobby that aside from the movie posters, refreshment prep area and video/claw machines added, not much has changed in the past 30-40 years. There's a box office booth right as you walk in to the right, that isn't necessarily functional, staff directed us to purchase tickets at the digital kiosks or from the concessions counter. When I came on a Friday night it seemed there were only a few staff members around. We waited a few minutes for someone to show up at the concessions stand. At least they've renovated the seating--most of the individual theater spaces inside have recliner seating. It makes for a very comfortable viewing experience since you can raise your legs and lean back. My overall viewing satisfaction was on par with larger, newer theater buildings. There are bathrooms available, women's on the left side of the concessions area and men's on the right. There's a structure for parking directly next to the theater though street parking is also available.

Local Movie Theater. Movies Are Streamed Now, So It's Better To Stay Home. Recliner Chairs. Very Comfortable. I Only Go For The Popcorn. Not Speacial.

UA midway I have been coming to this theater for years.matter of fact since I was a little kid. It is still easily accessible coming from Jamaica queens. By the bus or train the Q60 bus is right there out side of midway and the Etrain from Jamaica center to 71 continental is more than close to the theater. This movie theater is a fixture on queens blvd for decades and it still one of my favorite theaters till this day .I remember when the 2 major movie theater for us in jamaica was midway and green arches theater. But to me midway was always the best movie theater in queens. I know there are other theaters..and I have been to most of them but I still choose midway. And now they have the reclining seats wow that is awsome. And service comes right to your seats with refreshments. That is a big pulse for me ,this theater is me and wife's theater of choice and it is right here in queens my favorite borough. And it is good to come here after all of these years and it is still exciting as adult .the bathrooms are clean and theater is clean also. And the prices aren't bad at all. That's why I'm giving them 5/5 stars.

    Leather recliners very comfortable

Cinemart is a full-service movie theater showing all the latest releases just like any major chain. Ticket prices are also far more reasonable than chain theaters. As of May 2026, a regular ticket is $13 compared to $22 at Regal UA Midway on Queens Blvd. You can buy tickets and pick your seats online. Concessions are similarly well-priced, at $15 for a large popcorn and drink. The popcorn was fresh and not overly salty, and they have a melted butter dispenser. The leather seats are comfortable and spacious, and the theater felt very clean and well-maintained compared to some of the chain theaters I've been to. No popcorn or trash scattered over the floors and seats. Overall, Cinemart is a great place to see a new movie, support a local business, and save money while still getting a high-quality experience.

A Local Legend: Why Cinemart Cinemas is the Heart of Forest Hills…read moreIf you're tired of the soul-less, overpriced experience of "Big Cinema," Cinemart Cinemas in Forest Hills is the antidote. As the oldest continuously operated theater in Queens, it manages a rare feat: it feels like a step back in time without actually feeling dated. Here's why this independent gem remains a neighborhood favorite: The Perfect Blend of Old & New Originally a single-screen venue, the Cinemart has evolved into a modern five-screen multiplex while keeping its historic soul intact. You get the neighborhood "mom-and-pop" vibe the moment you walk in, but you aren't sacrificing modern comforts to get it. The Seating: Don't let the "historic" label fool you. The theaters are packed with plush reclining seats that rival (and often beat) the major chains. The Atmosphere: The cafe lounge area adds a touch of class, making it a great spot to decompress before or after a film. Unbeatable Value In an era where a night at the movies can feel like a car payment, Cinemart keeps it accessible. Their pricing is famously fair, but the real "crowd-pleaser" is their free popcorn promotions. Depending on the day or the deal, getting a fresh bucket of popcorn included with your ticket is a throwback to a time when theaters actually wanted you to come back next week. What's Playing? One of the best things about Cinemart is its eclectic programming. You'll find: Current Blockbusters: The big hits everyone is talking about. Second-Run Gems: Caught a movie a few weeks late? They often host films that have finished their run at larger theaters, giving you one last chance to see them on the big screen. Why It Matters Cinemart isn't just a place to watch a movie; it's a piece of Queens' history. Supporting this theater means supporting independent cinema and a local landmark that has survived decades of industry shifts. Pro Tip: Check their schedule mid-week! That's often when you'll find their best "ticket + popcorn" bundles, making it the most affordable date night or family outing in the borough. The Verdict: If you want luxury comfort, nostalgic charm, and prices that don't make you flinch, Cinemart Cinemas is the best ticket in town.

To have one right in our borough, in our very crowded city, is such a treat. And it was all free. The second time we went we even got free treats left on our windshield. The staff was amazing. They led us through the maze of metal barricades and cones to the viewing area, made sure we were parked appropriately on the lawn, good enough to view the screen perfectly straight on, and helped us to turn all of our lights off. When we weren't able to tune them all off while still listening to the movie audio on our radio, they came around and lent us a portable radio. That way we could turn the car completely off and listen to the movie audio from their borrowed radio. There was also a food stand, but we had dinner beforehand and brought our own snacks, so we didn't order from them. All in all, a pretty awesome experience for the whole family. Thanks to all the staff and organizations that made it possible!

We were so glad they updated the seats in this theater! It was a weekend morning but the lines were still very long for concessions! First, I will say that we purchased our tickets ahead of time to ensure we got the seats we wanted. We got them about 2-3 days beforehand, and it made everything a lot easier. When we arrived, we immediately got into the concession line as we knew we wanted to grab popcorn and some additional snacks. Because we hadn't eaten dinner yet, we also chose to get a pizza to share along with an Icee drink. These two items + a large popcorn cost us about $40 (oof!). So be prepared to spend if you want to snack while you're here. What we wish we would've known before arriving is that you can order your concession snacks via an app! We saw people walking in and going immediately to the "hot food ready" spot where they told the person their number and walked away with their pre-prepared snacks. Had we known this, we could've saved about 20 minutes of standing in line! This is a GREAT tip to remember, y'all! After getting our snacks, we made our way into the theater. Both my husband and I were in awe of the seats!!! All of them had personal "tables" that swiveled, allowing you to get into your seat then pull the little table in front of you so you can comfortably eat your snacks. The cup holders were massive AND, most importantly, ALL seats reclined back to a relaxing position! Not to worry, the row of seats in front of you is so low that when you recline back, you'll still be able to see the entire screen with nothing blocking it. Additionally, the isles of seats were pretty spacious. I got up mid-movie and had very little trouble getting out of my seated row, even with everyone reclined back with their feet up. Also, I wanted to note that they don't have a human that you purchase tickets from - you ca either but them online ahead of time (like we did) or you can purchase them at a kiosk when you first arrive. They do have a customer service desk if you need some help, but just keep this in mind. We live pretty close to this movie theater and look forward to seeing more movies here in the coming months!

The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. The setup was exciting - having my own private booth made me feel like i was experiencing something luxurious. Then, the menu arrived. Our waitress hit us with the news that most of the menu was unavailable because they had run out of... well, almost everything. It's hard to stay excited about a premium experience when you're basically forced into a "leftovers" draft pick of things you wouldn't normally order. Guava Fresca: Actually pretty good! It's zero-proof and gave off a solid spritzer vibe. If only the food kept that same energy. The "Shareables": We went with the buffalo wings and the coconut shrimp. The shrimp were surprisingly large, but they showed up without any sauce. Both were fine, I guess? Very generic food court vibes and unmemorable unmemorable. Fish & Chips: The chips (fries) were the best part of the meal, which is saying something. The fish had a weird sweetness to it, and the cocktail sauce was aggressively heavy on the cilantro. I'm usually a fan of cilantro, but here it just felt like it was lost and out of place. Also the fish was covered in bread crumbs and not a traditional batter. Lobster Roll: This was the biggest heartbreaker. It was generic, bland, and lacked any real flavor. If you're going to charge theater-premium prices for lobster, it should probably taste like something. It's disheartening to pay for a "luxury" experience only to be told you can't have 70% of what's on the menu. I would've had a much better time if I could've actually eaten what I came for. Sadly, I don't think I'll be back unfortunately
