    Eggs Benedict

New breakfast and lunch spot opened in Versailles, and we picked Valentine's day to give it a shot. It did not disappoint! I love this location, it's convenient and the fireplace has always been cozy and nice to sit by, so very happy they opened here after Spark closed. Their take on eggs Benny is nice, the polenta cake is great. And their house made bacon is tasty. I had the steak and eggs and the chimichurri is FANTASTIC and the skirt steak was cooked perfectly. Service was awesome, the team is friendly and fast. Round the whole thing out with a full bar so you can have a nice bloody mary or mimosa Overall a great experience. Happy to have the Black Squirrel in our little town :)

    The Breakfast Hotbrown

Fast service Generous portions The Breakfast Hotbrown was very good and my wife enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich

The 'omelette' was an overcooked frittata. The waffles must have been frozen

We really wanted the Black Squirrel to be good - darn!! The drip coffee was good. (The mugs are tiny) The omelette was not good at all. Overcooked/burned egg smell. It wasn't even an omelette, but more like a frittata. The over easy eggs were cooked correctly, the bacon was cold and greasy. The waffles were the worst. Eggo would be better. No butter, cold syrup. So disappointed! I gave two stars because everyone was nice.

I had the beef stroganoff, my daughter had the filet mignon, and my wife ordered the meatballs. Everything was delicious. I can't say enough good things about this place. We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. They got the first rounds of drinks taken care of then took food orders. The deviled eggs were popular, plentiful, and delicious. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. Pics from my last visit but still accurate.

I ordered the burger without the bun or fries, and it was so overly salty that I struggled to finish it. My wife had the CACIO de PEPE, which tasted quite different from what we're used to, and the pasta was overcooked for our liking. My brother-in-law ordered the fish tacos, which were easily the standout dish at the table. My sister's chicken cesar salad was decent but nothing particularly memorable. The restaurant itself feels a bit unexpected for a rural setting, which may help explain its strong ratings. For me, though, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again--more of a "fine if someone else suggests it" kind of spot.

The atmosphere is super cozy and we felt welcomed from our first steps in. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and we met Michaela who took fabulous care of us for the evening! We settled in to a couple of their specialty cocktails (midwinters night dream and cardamaro manhattans - yummy I'll say) and the Brussel Sprout starter. Let me say to come hungry because the portions are large but yummy. The sprouts are a meal all by themselves! But there's more! I had the porcini rubbed filet and Teresa had the cabbage confit. Both portions were sizable and while I know she loved her cabbage, I was in heaven with a perfectly prepared filet that just melted in my mouth. Plus the asparagus spears and the Okinawa sweet potato mash were perfect accompaniment! Sadly, there was so much goodness we ended up bringing some home and we'll have to come back for dessert and another menu sampling. All in all a very memorable experience and a great place for a birthday dinner! But we'll be back just because! Special closing shout out to Michaela for taking such great care of us.

This is quite possibly the best restaurant to ever exist in Stanford…read more I grew up in Stanford, I can tell you that in the 1980's and 1990's that local restaurants here were nothing but no-name greasy spoon diners selling nothing but fairly generic "burger and fries" and breakfast food, and it was usually pretty lousy. I was back in the town I grew up in a couple of weeks ago, and heard there was a really nice cafe in Stanford now called the Bluebird, so I sought it out. I was amazed. This definitely is more like a place I would expect in Lexington or Louisville. The food is genuinely good. Iced coffee and espresso, hot browns, and lots of other food that was never in Stanford when I was growing up there as a kid. I know that Stanford went wet a few years ago in a referendum, but it's still surreal to see margaritas and other mixed drinks on the menu in a place in Stanford. The ambiance was friendly and welcoming, and struck a nice balance between small town friendly. I had a patty melt, which was probably the best meal I'd ever had in a restaurant in Stanford in my entire life. I will definitely be back the next time I come back to my old hometown.

Freshly sautéed shrooms, cooked perfectly, juicy, seasoned well, served on a brioche bun. They offered a great selection of sides. I chose the chicken lemon orzo soup. It was a generous serving abundant w tender chicken. Our server, Autumn, was personable and, simply, just perfect at her job. We will return.
