I really appreciate great mechanics and knowledgeable service. I also appreciate having someone that can break the work down into simpler terms. While I know my way around a vehicle, I just can't perform the service anymore, so was looking for a reputable diesel shop to install my Banks Monster Ram intake horn. They got referred from another shop that wouldn't do that particular job, which told me something positive when another shop can refer to another. Got the quote, had a pleasant conversation with Ciera and agreed to terms. Expressed as being the daily driver, Ciera was quick to arrange a next day turn around, drop off Friday afternoon, pick up Saturday evening. I had asked about a time and was told should be late afternoon, nothing extreme and will advise if delayed. Called around 12:30 to ask about progress and if any estimate on when to come by. Left message as no one answered, followed by a text to same number and again, no reply. Did the same at 2:30 and 3:30 with same result. At I4:05 was contacted, apologies for not getting back, should be done by 5:30-6:00. Also explained the delay, but should be good to go. So I got my ride and dropped off at 5:30. Great mechanic and very knowledgeable about my truck and got reasonable "next service" things to address. I say that as I felt confident in what was told and also put to rest on what's real and what's paranoia. The service was performed as requested, inhaled the Banks piece, oil change, drive line inspection, fixed any error codes, test drove and was on my way. About only complaints I have is the delay in communication to be able to plan transport. I had even thrown it out there that I could pick up on Sunday if that was better as I didn't want him rushing the job or miss something critical, to which she assured me it would be fine and not necessary. I got n out of that shop by 11:00 pm. Could give more detail, but I know they're short staffed administratively and once addressed, it will be a top notch establishment. Of the two mechanics, I was impressed with their knowledge and work ethic, The history of the shop and owner was also great information shared. Ciera is very pleasant to talk to and accommodating on the phone. I like what was done, could use help in communication and delivery. I've been looking for that service home and would be comfortable using them, just a little hesitant if pressed for time or something critical. read more

Worst experience I ever had with a mechanic shop. Stay away from this shop. They constantly led me on with excuses on why it took over 2 months to get my truck back. Dropped my 2019 3500 Ram off for routine service. The service staff communicated very well through the day to keep me updated on my vehicles progress. This truck is usually serviced by myself or the dealer. I never have time for my own cars and I don't feel I can trust the dealership at this point after having such bad luck there. We did a quick search and was recommended Black Widow. Gave the shop a call, explained our situation and serious time crunch since we were moving across the country, and Ciera (the shop manager) and Eric (head mechanic) we're able to squeeze us in. Black Widow Diesel saved the day! My wife and I are new to town and I moved All of our belongings including the equipment from my shop with my 06 F-350 6.0 Powerstroke. I wasn't worried because I had just paid a lot of money to have some repairs done before we moved. On my last trip up the hill, pulling a trailer, "Lucky" overheated. This was the same problem I had been having before I had all the repairs done. So I went into a few shops around Ramona to check on some pricing and to see what the people running the place would like. When I got to Black Widow diesel I was blown away by what I saw. The shop, the mechanics and the trucks they were working on were spotless. Everything was organized and in its place. And I know first hand that if you have that level of attention to detail about your shop and your tools, you will have that same attention to detail when it comes to the work you do. I waited a few minutes and got to speak with Eric the owner. I was impressed with his straightforward no bullshit style. I dropped my truck off a few days later and I was fearing the worst, a blown head gasket. Eric convinced me not to jump to conclusions but it was tough. As it turns out the previous shop had really done a hack job. Without going too much into it I'll just say there was JB Weld involved. But moving forward Eric ordered the parts I needed and was even able to get one of the screwed up parts covered under warranty. As they made these repairs they came across a few little things that you couldn't see till you had the motor open. They called me and asked if I wanted to address these so I could save the labor cost of doing them later. That's what a good mechanic should do. My truck was done on time even with the additional items that I chose to have them fix. Plus, there was a small part that I needed to replace under my dashboard and I had bought it already at the part store. Someone at Black Widow diesel saw this part and took it upon themselves to replace it, AT NO CHARGE!! It had to of been an hour labor. I couldn't believe it. I can't remember the last time I saw him I can't do anything like that. When I left, I'll tell you, that truck has not run like that in a long time. I told Black Widow Diesel "Lucky is loving me like she did when we were new". She's a work truck with a service body but she took off. If you're looking for a diesel shop or even just a auto mechanic, GO TO BLACK WIDOW! It's family owned and operated by some real straight shooters. I brought my truck in and after running all tests it was determined to be a major repair. It was decided to "bullet proof" my truck...so to speak. The shop went above and beyond my expectations.
