    French toast and a view
    Veronica B.

I had a great experience at Blackbird, I was seated within 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I came solo with my dog and was given a great spot on the patio with a nice view of the creek. My order consisted of the French toast with extra crispy bacon (they did it right!) and strawberries and whipped cream. The dish was delicious and I ate every last morsel. The staff was quite friendly and the kitchen was quick even on a holiday weekend.

Our waitress really made our lunch here spectacular. We originally tried to eat somewhere else but when they were sold out they sent us here and it was a fantastic alternative. Our waitress was radiating warmth and incredibly sweet. The food was great - I particularly liked the ahi tuna nachos. The view was lovely and we loved checking out the creek just behind the patio.

We were put on the waitlist, which was for inside. They had spots outside which we asked to sit at that did not have a wait, so make sure you ask! It was a brisk afternoon and perfect for sitting outside in the sun. The food and drinks came out quickly. We ordered two sandwiches, which were both delicious. Dogs allowed on patio.

Great place with indoor and outdoor seating. We had a wasp around us a lot of the time which isn't their fault! But just something to keep in mind. Ordered: Seared salmon salad - loved all the little things in the salad Pimento BLT - so good!!! My favorite Sweet potato fries - had a good seasoning, but to me, not worth the upcharge. Their normal fries are waffle fries, and I would have liked those just as much I think

A little sweet and savory! The picture doesn't capture how delicious it was. Great Mother's Day brunch!

One of the best brunch's I've had in a long time, picturesque sitting by the river! Sweet &!savory! Homemade corn bowls, holding delicious green chili, cheese and a perfectly poached egg on top! Nutella strawberry pancakes were the bomb w people saying they weren't a fan of pancakes except for theirs! Perfection!

For sure a go too!!! Seated quickly ... bartender super nice and great service ... Everything here is marked locally so for sure love that ... A little bit understaffed but it's ok , the huddle around here ... Love coming to these places because it's a go to ... and the food is delicious ... The vibe is very mountains and local ... I'm sooo for it !!

My wife and I stopped in here for a second time after taking our old doggie for a nice, easy walk / hike along Bear Creek in O'Fallon Park just east of here. The patio is wonderful, looking across a meadow at Bear Creek, which you can hear from your table. An expansive menu provides something for every taste. We started with fried pickle chips. My wife had a Reuben that looked fantastic with freshly made chips, I had a really great (and very big) falafel with onion rings, and they were kind enough to cook a large, unseasoned burger patty for our four legged friend. I had a beer, and my wife had their monthly drink special - a huckleberry lemonade vodka concoction that she said was so good she ordered a second. The staff was universally friendly, happy and welcoming. They asked us what had brought us there, how old our dog was, and made other pleasantries without being intrusive. We will definitely return to this place on a future visit to the Evergreen area.

This was the burger, with sweet potato fries, delicious

The food was excellent! Service very good, they make you feel like you're home. If you are in the Evergreen area this is the place to stop and have your brunch after your hike like we did. We will be back for sure, don't forget to check the patio area!

I've driven through Kittredge countless times, passing by Blackbird Café without ever stopping--until now. When we were looking for a convenient brunch spot between Denver, Lakewood, and Evergreen, we finally decided to give it a try. Any excuse to head up to the mountains is one we'll gladly take! Visiting on a weekday meant a more relaxed atmosphere, though I can easily imagine this cozy spot buzzing with activity on weekends. The café exudes a charming, rustic cabin feel, and its prime location along Bear Creek offers picturesque views for those lucky enough to snag a table by the window. Despite arriving as a large group without reservations, the staff quickly arranged tables for us, and we were seated in no time. Their warm hospitality set the tone, with coffee and drinks arriving swiftly as we took our time exploring the menu. There was even a cute little play area for restless kids. It was fun to see such a variety of dishes land on our table--everyone ordered something different, and each plate was as tempting as the next. The French Toast with fresh strawberries (and real maple syrup), the Chorizo Nido, and the Green Chili Smothered Burrito were particular standouts, though every bite was delicious. Now that I've discovered this hidden gem, I have no doubt we'll be back soon for another leisurely brunch in the mountains.

HIGHLY recommend. I was so happy with the service, the food, and the ambience! Such a cute mountain town restaurant. The menu has vast options. So many that it was hard to choose what I wanted to eat. I had their seasonal prickly pear margarita to start. 10/10 would recommend. For food, I tried their poblano turkey melt. FIRE. They also have delicious dessert to choose from that is homemade. I loved this place. I cannot wait to come back!

    Weekly rotating benedict

Brunch by a creek, what more can you ask for!? Came here after a Saturday morning hike and it was crowded! We had a group of 8 so had to wait for an hour or so but it was worth it! I had the weekly benedict which was a bacon, zucchini, tomato one. Delicious! It came with a side salad and some small potato cakes which were so crispy. Unfortunately they don't take reservations so be ready for a wait, especially if you wanna sit outside on a nice day!

We drove by and spotted Blackbird Cafe the day before we were going back home and decided to try it as we headed to the airport at the end of our trip. So glad we stopped! Had we known about this place sooner we would have come here every morning during our trip! It was an overcast morning but warm enough to sit outside on their cute patio where everyone was so chill, having a relaxing brunch next to Bear Creek, some with their dogs which I love. Our servers were delights...so friendly, and service was on the spot with everything. Coffee was great, Bloody Mary had a nice kick and great flavor, and the food was delicious. Our party each had something different and we were trying off of each others plates since we were all raving about our orders - Classic eggs Ben, Revolving Eggs Ben (verde sauce, cheddar, and chorizo), Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquiles, and a side of pancakes. All yum! We saw that they have Thirsty Thursday with live music every week. We all wished we could have gone to that during our visit, so if you're free on Thursday night check it out! We hope we will be back one day! Thanks for a great send off as we left CO!

Great service and food hit the spot after morning of hiking I had the papas con queso (sin queso) and was well spiced but not overbearing. I had them add chopped jalapeños for my palate.

Had the salmon and avocado toast and it was amazing. Busy place but the wait wasn't long on a late Sunday morning. Will definitely go back!

Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and kindly answered our questions about various dishes. Food came out fast, and several staff members passed by to ask us how everything was tasting. I started off with a strawberry lemonade and it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. The charcuterie was delicious and we enjoyed every bit of it. Fruits were sweet and the pickled vegetables were especially good. Grilled cheese and tomato soup were very good, although I've had better elsewhere - Beechers in Seattle and tomato soup in Iceland, but I know that's not a fair comparison. For dessert, we ordered bread pudding, it was yummy and the perfect end to our meal. The ambience was nice and not too loud inside. Wish I was local, so I can dine here more often. Our server was great, good energy, and made multiple recommendations on the menu, including what may have recently changed, or been updated, on the menu. He highly recommended the strawberry margarita, noted that it wasn't sweet, and that they make all of their syrups, flavoring etc. in house, and this was a standout newer addition. He was right - it was delicious, refreshing for a hot summer day, and best of all, not overly sweet. For dinner, I had the filet, which came with a generous portion of super creamy, delicious mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the most wonderfully flavorful au jus. My steak was perfectly cooked the way I like it (medium rare). The dessert, a 'creme brûlée' was not at all your typical creme brûlée, and honestly, for me, fell a bit flat. I think it was made with some type of goat cheese, didn't have the lovely custardy/smooth consistency, volume, or depth. The fresh fruit on top was nice, but I only had a bite or so of this dessert we shared. Maybe call it something else, or alternatively, make sure when people order it they know it's non-traditional creme brûlée. Otherwise, wonderful meal, with great friends and we will absolutely be back!
