Recently discovered this gem after moving back to CO and had to visit for a second time shortly after my first visit. SO GOOD. Food was amazing! Service was super friendly and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant sits along a creek which provides a beautiful view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very cozy and was perfect for my first rainy day visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside seating is nice and was great for enjoying the gorgeous weather on my second visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Doesn't matter if it's rain or shine, this place seems to stay busy so expect a short wait. Under 30 min, very reasonable. This will be a place I return to again and again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy little cafe in the mountain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really enjoyed the patio which was located by a creek with a little area to walk down to it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We waited about 10 minutes on a Saturday morning at 10am. They have coffee and water available at the front (I thought the coffee was free, but they charged us for it once we sat down). [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got a nice shaded table on the patio![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the green chili breakfast burrito which was just okay, it would've been nice for it to come with a bowl of fresh fruit? Otherwise it was just $18 for a burrito. My friend ordered their basic breakfast with eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. She said she was a little weary of the eggs because they had green streaks in them so she didn't finish them. The hashbrowns were both in my burrito and the breakfast plate and we agreed they were really good. I took a pic of the dessert display as they looked delicious and I wish I would've had something!

I had a great experience at Blackbird, I was seated within 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came solo with my dog and was given a great spot on the patio with a nice view of the creek.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My order consisted of the French toast with extra crispy bacon (they did it right!) and strawberries and whipped cream. The dish was delicious and I ate every last morsel. The staff was quite friendly and the kitchen was quick even on a holiday weekend.

Our waitress really made our lunch here spectacular. We originally tried to eat somewhere else but when they were sold out they sent us here and it was a fantastic alternative. Our waitress was radiating warmth and incredibly sweet. The food was great - I particularly liked the ahi tuna nachos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view was lovely and we loved checking out the creek just behind the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We were put on the waitlist, which was for inside. They had spots outside which we asked to sit at that did not have a wait, so make sure you ask! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a brisk afternoon and perfect for sitting outside in the sun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food and drinks came out quickly. We ordered two sandwiches, which were both delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dogs allowed on patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

After an event at the Evergreen Library - mom and I found ourselves hungry and stumbled upon a cute little roadside café. Blackbird is cutesy and inviting with brightly painted exterior (featuring butterflies and sunflowers), cozy and wooded interior, with one hell of a Creekside view. The layout inside is a little awkward - and entrance is right near the kitchen. However, we maneuvered to a table in the corner near the window - with a nice, sunny view and was greeted by a friendly face who gave us a rundown of the specials and allowed us ample time to peruse the menu. We decided to sip on Arnold palmers and split The Rachel - essentially a Turkey Ruben with a side of fries and sweet potato fries - because two types of fries is always the right choice! Within about 10 minutes, our food arrived, which was just what the doctor ordered. Splitting the meal was perfect, as the sandwich was huge. Mom's fries were delicious while my sweet potato fries were a little burnt, but still yummy. Service was friendly, welcoming and accommodating to our lunch date. Pricing is on point and reasonable for a cute mountain town. I'd easily return!

Great place with indoor and outdoor seating. We had a wasp around us a lot of the time which isn't their fault! But just something to keep in mind. Ordered: Seared salmon salad - loved all the little things in the salad Pimento BLT - so good!!! My favorite Sweet potato fries - had a good seasoning, but to me, not worth the upcharge. Their normal fries are waffle fries, and I would have liked those just as much I think

For sure a go too!!! Seated quickly ... bartender super nice and great service ... Everything here is marked locally so for sure love that ... A little bit understaffed but it's ok , the huddle around here ... Love coming to these places because it's a go to ... and the food is delicious ... The vibe is very mountains and local ... I'm sooo for it !!

My wife and I stopped in here for a second time after taking our old doggie for a nice, easy walk / hike along Bear Creek in O'Fallon Park just east of here. The patio is wonderful, looking across a meadow at Bear Creek, which you can hear from your table. An expansive menu provides something for every taste. We started with fried pickle chips. My wife had a Reuben that looked fantastic with freshly made chips, I had a really great (and very big) falafel with onion rings, and they were kind enough to cook a large, unseasoned burger patty for our four legged friend. I had a beer, and my wife had their monthly drink special - a huckleberry lemonade vodka concoction that she said was so good she ordered a second. The staff was universally friendly, happy and welcoming. They asked us what had brought us there, how old our dog was, and made other pleasantries without being intrusive. We will definitely return to this place on a future visit to the Evergreen area.

A little sweet and savory! The picture doesn't capture how delicious it was. Great Mother's Day brunch!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]One of the best brunch's I've had in a long time, picturesque sitting by the river![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sweet &!savory! Homemade corn bowls, holding delicious green chili, cheese and a perfectly poached egg on top! Nutella strawberry pancakes were the bomb w people saying they weren't a fan of pancakes except for theirs! Perfection!

I've driven through Kittredge countless times, passing by Blackbird Café without ever stopping--until now. When we were looking for a convenient brunch spot between Denver, Lakewood, and Evergreen, we finally decided to give it a try. Any excuse to head up to the mountains is one we'll gladly take! Visiting on a weekday meant a more relaxed atmosphere, though I can easily imagine this cozy spot buzzing with activity on weekends. The café exudes a charming, rustic cabin feel, and its prime location along Bear Creek offers picturesque views for those lucky enough to snag a table by the window. Despite arriving as a large group without reservations, the staff quickly arranged tables for us, and we were seated in no time. Their warm hospitality set the tone, with coffee and drinks arriving swiftly as we took our time exploring the menu. There was even a cute little play area for restless kids. It was fun to see such a variety of dishes land on our table--everyone ordered something different, and each plate was as tempting as the next. The French Toast with fresh strawberries (and real maple syrup), the Chorizo Nido, and the Green Chili Smothered Burrito were particular standouts, though every bite was delicious. Now that I've discovered this hidden gem, I have no doubt we'll be back soon for another leisurely brunch in the mountains.

This was the burger, with sweet potato fries, delicious

The food was excellent! Service very good, they make you feel like you're home. If you are in the Evergreen area this is the place to stop and have your brunch after your hike like we did. We will be back for sure, don't forget to check the patio area!

HIGHLY recommend. I was so happy with the service, the food, and the ambience! Such a cute mountain town restaurant. The menu has vast options. So many that it was hard to choose what I wanted to eat. I had their seasonal prickly pear margarita to start. 10/10 would recommend. For food, I tried their poblano turkey melt. FIRE. They also have delicious dessert to choose from that is homemade. I loved this place. I cannot wait to come back!

Great food in an out of the way location. Found it almost by accident but it is a little gem.

Had the salmon and avocado toast and it was amazing. Busy place but the wait wasn't long on a late Sunday morning. Will definitely go back!

This restaurant is absolutely excellent. I would come here regardless of whether I was seeing a concert or not. The attention to detail, from the decor, to the drinks, to the food, to the service, is darn near perfect. We tried a mocktail and a cocktail, both cucumber-based. They were basically slightly different versions of the same drink and they were both wonderful and very refreshing. This place absolutely hits home runs with their cheese and charcuterie boards. They are stunningly beautiful. We went with two meats and two cheeses and our server provided excellent recommendations. We probably didn't need to have any more food other than the cheese and meat board but we decided to split a filet mignon and it was excellent. The food, drinks, decor, and service were all top-notch. I would return here again and again. I would eat and drink my way through the whole menu like a hungry goat, I guess.

We were excited to try them because they said they made their own juice, which I believe, but it may have gone sour or something. The goat cheese appetizer was not for me, it was just hot liquidy cheese. Maybe it would be better in the winter. The salmon was decent but not what I expected. It was almost prepared like an Asian dish. However the service was awesome. The ambiance is cute but I wouldn't recommend it for a super hot day because the restaurant is indoor/outdoor
