My mister and I recently had brunch at Schnepf's and enjoyed the amazing views that we've often seen from our drive along Sixth Ave. The views were amazing and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Those are my positives. Brunch was meh. I ordered the Queso Verde Breakfast Burrito and my guy ordered the Hot Chicken and Biscuits. Both were not seasoned well and bland. My burrito looked fabulous as it arrived but the flavors were just not there. The tortilla was massive and overpowered even even chucks of blacken bacon. The eggs were bland and likely powdered. Same with the hot chicken. It wasn't visually appealing IMO and similar to my experience, the seasoning or lack thereof stood out. Maybe Schnepf's had an off day? Who knows. Those views though.

We visited today while on vacation and everything was amazing! Beautiful view on the patio overlooking the golf course, delicious food and Bloody Mary's, and excellent service from Maddy. We ordered the loaded fries, club sandwich, loaded macaroni, and tendie basket. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely fantastic!

Really nice service but decor is what to expect from golf course and older clientele. Don't let that deter you because the view from the inside or outside is amazing! I loved being able to eat my food and look out at the mountains. I asked my waitress what to get and got chicken and waffles. It was super crispy and came with a sweet maple syrup and a sweet compote with some heat on the side. Loved it and would def go back.

Discovered this restaurant on a golf course while at a place nearby and decided to check it out. It was a beautiful day so plenty of people golfing and ordering sandwiches to go. I decided to sit down. What a beautiful view whether you sit inside or out. I decided to imbibe during lunch and ordered a grey goose filthy martini. DAYAM. I was tipsy for the rest of the day. That was a large martini glass and no skimping. I ate the mushroom, Gouda burger and fries and thought it was well cooked and satisfying. Tables are nicely spaced out. The decor was a bit bland but not anything to deter enjoying a meal here.

Open to the public, even if you're not golfing, which is cool. The patio has a good bit of seating with views of Golden and the Mesas. I ordered the Hot Chix and it was delicious. It was more of a dry rub type than super saucy. The flavor was honestly delightful. They've got cocktails and a good variety on the menu.

Scene; 7 hungover humans stroll in to what can only be described as a Yellowstonesque (like the tv show, not the national park, watch the show, Kevin Costner's in it) vibe restaurant with dinosaur bones and Buffalo stuff. It had been a long, hard night at Blackhawk and we attempted to gather ourselves to feast. Enter; Tom, darling server, genuine specimen. He dealt with our requests, antics, and entertaining banter with ease and grace. Appetizers were on point and the fried chicken was any cardiovascular surgeons nightmare in its own. Delicious all around. It's cold and we're in Colorado but when it's warm I will happily peruse the patio as the views are a shear delight! Ask for Tom and he will take great care of you! (Kinda like what Kevin Costner would do!)

Best meal we've had in Colorado after living here a year. Eating on the patio in the evening was a great experience, but the food was even better. The Pork Green Chili with Tortillas to dip was really good (3 of us got it). The Steak Nachos were some of the best we've ever had, rivaling ones nearly triple the price---the steak was cooked just right and the poblano queso stole the show! The cilantro lime (I think) ranch or whatever drizzled on top was a nice touch as well. 2 of us got salads and enjoyed them, and 2 of us got the Green Chili bacon cheeseburgers which were amazing---the sweet slaw on top was a perfect balance to the salt and slight heat of the other ingredients. Needless to say, we'll be back! This is attached to the golf course, but you don't need to be a member. We came to hit a bucket of balls before our meal and were very disappointed they closed the range at 7pm, luckily the great meal saved the night.

This restaurant is located at the Fossil Trace Golf Course in Golden, but you don't have to be a member of the golf course to enjoy the fabulous food there, and enjoy the beautiful views of the golf course while you eat. My husband and I stopped in and had the Brie and Apple Grilled Sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. I decided to book a party for a ladies luncheon there, and the decor, food and service were outstanding. Darby was very accommodating, making sure all of our needs were met for our slideshow and announcements. All of the staff was friendly and efficient. This is a hidden gem, whether for personal enjoyment, family celebrations or large group gatherings, they supply a meal that will make you glad you stopped in.

A disappointment as the salmon wasn't fresh, the chicken wasn't fresh, and the service somewhat lacking.

I said it was the best burger I ever ate. My husband, whose hobbies include crushing joy with logic, said, "No it wasn't. It was an ordinary burger. You only think it's amazing because you almost died." Had to settle that debate, so we tried it without the kill-me-hike warmup this time. Food I don't like my burgers swimming in their own juicy filth. And these burgers are dry, juicy, beefy, and didn't almost drown in their own fat. Even the bun (brioche, I think) stayed dry as summer heat. Plus, their fries are that kind that almost seem battered. Crisp on the outside, potato-y on the inside. We also tried the deviled eggs, which was a nice update to an old classic. Atmosphere This is perfectly casual with outdoor dining (great for dogs). Big umbrellas and coverage from the summer sun. I've never eaten inside because why. Service Perfectly competent. Nobody gave us a pony. Nobody accidentally set us on fire. The food arrived quickly, while the check took its own scenic route through the restaurant. Everyone was friendly. No complaints. Value Expensive burgers at $18-22 each. But I only have burgers a few times a year, so when I do, I'm going to demand one of these from now on.

They were busy but churning tables in and out. Limited parking is available in front but we did what most were doing, parked on the side of the road across from the restaurant. It was great to see how young people (teenagers and early 20 years olds) were working at this local spot. They were also doing an amazing job being attentive. We got the tea of the Tillman drink to soothe our thirst after a hike and the summer heat. It was tart but refreshing. I have never had a drink like it before. I highly recommend trying it. We ordered chilaquiles, breakfast burrito, and the mushroom omelette. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and came away full! If you're in the area around breakfast or lunch time, stop in. They have deserts and hand pies to-go. We didn't try them but they looked delicious.

Solid 5 stars for a buffet (probably a solid 4 just as a pizza place)…read more This is our second time stopping here on vacation -- going back to Woody's was actually one of the reasons we wanted to hit Golden again. It's on the south side of the main downtown drag. It gets quite busy even at off-peak times, so there's usually a wait of some kind. Head up to the door, get on their list, and they'll call you when your seats are ready. We got a little lucky since there were only two of us and there was open bar seating -- we sat at the bar, had a beer, and did the pizza buffet from there. It's not just a buffet, either. You can order off the menu, get your own personal pizza, or do a two-slice-and-a-salad deal, which is a cheaper version if you don't want the unlimited all-you-can-eat. They also have a full-service bar with cocktails, beer, and everything else you'd want. Salad bar -- one of the best buffet-type salad bars I've found. It's not the largest -- the salad section doesn't go on for miles, it's actually a pretty small setup -- but everything is fresh and the range of ingredients is big. Fresh salads, multiple dressings, several crunchy toppings, a bunch of vegetables, black olives, peppers, and two or three different proteins to add. Really, really like it. Also included with the salad bar buffet is their beer soup -- kind of a cheese soup. I skipped it this time since I didn't want to get that full, but I've had it in the past and it's super solid. Definitely something to try on a cold day. Pizza buffet, under $20/person -- there's a window with all the pizza sitting out, usually four to six at a time, right behind where they're making and cooking them. You can walk up and request whatever you'd like -- the chefs are right there, so you can say "hey, can I get a barbecue chicken pizza?" and they'll put one together and set it in the window. The range is usually about three normal pizzas -- pepperoni, supreme, plain cheese -- and three odder ones, like a buffalo chicken or a beef barbecue cheddar. I also saw one with ricotta and prosciutto. So they're not just doing standard pies; there's a really big range to choose from. The pizza quality is good. I wouldn't call it super thin crust, and it's not super thick where the toppings are -- but the edge of the crust is a thicker, doughy handle you can grip and gnaw on, and it's very tender and flavorful. If you're a crust eater, you'll like this crust, and you can dip it in sauces or dressings from the salad bar. Service was top notch and everybody there was friendly. One thing that stood out: the bartender asked the guy sitting next to us if everything was good, and he said he was just waiting on a buffalo chicken pizza. She called straight over to the kitchen and had them cook one. They still put it out on the buffet, but he got exactly what he wanted. Pro tip: Under $20 a person might sound like a lot, but come hungry and it's a steal. I ate probably fourteen slices -- I drove down here with the intent to get full, and it wasn't a bad full. Highly suggest going, and I'd return if I find myself in Golden, Colorado again.
