My mister and I recently had brunch at Schnepf's and enjoyed the amazing views that we've often seen from our drive along Sixth Ave. The views were amazing and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Those are my positives. Brunch was meh. I ordered the Queso Verde Breakfast Burrito and my guy ordered the Hot Chicken and Biscuits. Both were not seasoned well and bland. My burrito looked fabulous as it arrived but the flavors were just not there. The tortilla was massive and overpowered even even chucks of blacken bacon. The eggs were bland and likely powdered. Same with the hot chicken. It wasn't visually appealing IMO and similar to my experience, the seasoning or lack thereof stood out. Maybe Schnepf's had an off day? Who knows. We wanted to try a new place and this was near us at the time and had a full drink menu. We arrived and were kinda weary of the place because we failed to realize that they were on the golf course. Staff was nice and seated us, and continued to check on us the whole time we were there. After we placed our order we waited a good 20-25 minutes. The manager came by and asked how we were doing and noticed we hadn't received our food yet. She went and checked on our stuff and noted that somehow our order wasn't entered - or something along those lines. She comped our drinks, and gave us a free dessert to take home. We really appreciated it and let her know that it wasn't necessary and that we both realised that things happen. My girlfriend and I are super chill about these things, nonetheless, we got our drinks comped and enjoyed a free dessert. On to the actual food. We got some tacos as an appetiser and quite frankly they were just okay. Would have been better in some corn tortillas and some more veggies like onions. I got the cheese steak and it was very good. Girlfriend got a burger and it was cooked to her liking. The views are absolutely great here. We will be back, if not for food, the for sure a few drinks and the views. read more

My friend suggested that we go here for lunch today and since I heard nothing but good reports from friends who were members , I agreed to go. We sat on the outdoor patio which offered a spectacular view of the course and mountains. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere relaxed and our server was very friendly. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and my friend ordered the Malbec. Both were tasty and the Pinot was unlike any other I've tried in the past, I couldn't identify the winery and forgot to ask. We also ordered the Caesar salad with grilled salmon. They were presented nicely and they were not overdressed with Caesar dressing. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and since this place is very close to where we live, we will return. read more

Really nice service but decor is what to expect from golf course and older clientele. Don't let that deter you because the view from the inside or outside is amazing! I loved being able to eat my food and look out at the mountains. I asked my waitress what to get and got chicken and waffles. I decided to sit down. What a beautiful view whether you sit inside or out. I decided to imbibe during lunch and ordered a grey goose filthy martini. DAYAM. I was tipsy for the rest of the day. That was a large martini glass and no skimping. I ate the mushroom, Gouda burger and fries and thought it was well cooked and satisfying. Tables are nicely spaced out. I was here last month with friends, and my food was good. Today, I took a group here, and we were terribly disappointed. The server was swamped, but did the best that he could. The food was another story. The buns used for the sandwiches were dry; some of the regular fries were overcooked while the sweet potato fries that were great last month were soggy and under salted this time. Best meal we've had in Colorado after living here a year. Eating on the patio in the evening was a great experience, but the food was even better. The Pork Green Chili with Tortillas to dip was really good (3 of us got it). The Steak Nachos were some of the best we've ever had, rivaling ones nearly triple the price---the steak was cooked just right and the poblano queso stole the show! The cilantro lime (I think) ranch or whatever drizzled on top was a nice touch as well. 2 of us got salads and enjoyed them, and 2 of us got the Green Chili bacon cheeseburgers which were amazing---the sweet slaw on top was a perfect balance to the salt and slight heat of the other ingredients. Needless to say, we'll be back! This is attached to the golf course, but you don't need to be a member. Amy and I split the Colorado Chop Cheese, Carolina Cold Cheese Curds, and Maple Brined Wings in classic buffalo sauce out on the patio on a Friday afternoon while the staff were busy setting up for a wedding on the green below. The view was fantastic, but the food was quite unexpected. Fried cheese curds with pork belly that taste like burnt ends bbq with pickled onions and honey mustard sauce melted in your mouth. May have to drive up from Castle Rock more frequently! BTW, while you're there you can check out the history of where the Triceratops track fossils were found. read more

This restaurant is located at the Fossil Trace Golf Course in Golden, but you don't have to be a member of the golf course to enjoy the fabulous food there, and enjoy the beautiful views of the golf course while you eat. My husband and I stopped in and had the Brie and Apple Grilled Sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. I decided to book a party for a ladies luncheon there, and the decor, food and service were outstanding. Darby was very accommodating, making sure all of our needs were met for our slideshow and announcements. All of the staff was friendly and efficient. This is a hidden gem, whether for personal enjoyment, family celebrations or large group gatherings, they supply a meal that will make you glad you stopped in. read more

Good food, great view, but they need more servers and umbrellas on patio. We roasted and were very uncomfortably hot before finally moving to a table with an umbrella 20 minutes after being seated on the patio. Service was very slow also, and we overheard the manager reprimanding one of the servers for promising a table with an umbrella to us when that table had apparently been promised to someone else. Very unprofessional! How difficult would it be for a golf resort restaurant to purchase a few more umbrellas when Colorado has 300+ days of sunshine per year? read more

My daughter took me here to this restaurant for an early Mother's Day lunch. Our experience at the front could have been better. The host/bartender Asked if we had reservations and we said yes he said it would take a few moments for us to be seated. We waited and I honestly thought they forgot about us. We only had breakfast here before out round of golf. The bartender and the waitstaff were very friendly. The breakfast burritos were delicious, smothered in green chili with medium heat. Last night after after dropping our son off downtown, and before a friend's 50th birthday party, we had a little time to kill. My husband and I wanted to grab a bit and have a drink. I searched Yelp and found this place I had never heard of: Schnepf's. I gave my husband directions but when we arrived my husband said, "Well it's not here, and if it is here, it's closed." Disappointed we drove off. But I decided to call. Jason, a friendly and professional fellow, said, "Yes, we're here, we're open." So we turned back around. My husband dropped me off near the door and waited in the truck, knowing I would find doors locked. But instead, I pulled open the door and there was Jason, greeting me, so I waved my husband in. We had the place to ourselves and I don't know why. (We learned there had been a beer pairing event the day before and it was packed.) We enjoyed the atmosphere, the professional staff, and the food, and vowed to come back soon. The prices were great, the wine good, the presentation excellent. The decor was lovely. There was a glowing fire, lots of roomy couches, classy decorations, etc. There were some side rooms that would be perfect for private events. I'm thinking of calling the manager to see about having my next book signing here. Here are my guesses as to why this place wasn't packed: 1. New name/new ownership? I guess there was a restaurant called 3 Tomatoes. Jason said this place and chef is new as of May, 2017. 2. Maybe it was because of the storm and the "off the beaten path" road that takes you here, but it just doesn't shout out, "There's a great restaurant, come on inside!" We didn't see lights or signs. I'm sure hundreds of people have driven away like we almost did. It seems like this would be an easy fix. 3. The crowds are probably bigger during golf season, since this is attached to the Fossil Trace golf course. Anyway, we highly recommend. read more

Beautiful view on the outdoor patio. The quality of the food was very good. Its important to know that the menu does not match the menu photos that are posted on Yelp. We went for dinner and there was a spring menu that had less expensive sandwiches and salads, then a short menu with three fancier options for entrees (halibut, roasted chicken, and something else). That was a little disappointing as the menu on yelp looked great! I had the halibut and my boyfriend had a sandwich, which he said was very good. This is a golf course restaurant. I came on Friday late morning for breakfast. The breakfast menu only had 4 items on it. The most appetizing one was the green Chile smothered breakfast burrito. Unfortunately it was just OK, nothing too flavorful. I drenched it in Chalula and it didn't help that much. My friend got the 2 eggs with bacon and a side of green chili. He said it was fine but he agreed the green chili didn't have much flavor. The views were amazing and the server was really nice (although a bit slow of service even tho it wasn't busy.
