I normally don't eat barbecue north of the Mason-Dixon Line, but this place was in an old Texaco station and is veteran owned so I gave it a shot. I got ribs on their recommendation and brisket and both were tender and tasty. The spicy sauce was the way to go. It was so awesome to finally be able to try Blackhawk BBQ Pit in Blackfoot, Idaho!! Every single thing I tried was seriously great. The Triple Threat sandwich is Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Sausage with a great BBQ sauce! The Triple Mac is the same 3 meats over Smoked Mac & Cheese. I loved the Brisket and Smoked Sausage and Ribs as well!! I really loved not just the flavor, but Blackhawk also nailed the bark and texture. It is definitely better than any BBQ currently here in Utah. He has food trucks all over Idaho, and if you are anywhere near Blackfoot make sure to stop in. I can't wait to go back!! read more

AMAZING BBQ. We were on a road trip and decided to stop by Blackhawk BBQ Pit on our way through Idaho and we're so happy we did! We got the combo plate and the triple mac. They were all delicious. The meat was extremely juicy and very flavorful and we especially loved the cornbread! Overall we highly recommend this establishment. Lots of seating and natural light. Visiting from California and was told to try this food truck. I got the loaded cheesy potatoes which comes with brisket and bbq sauce on top and it's a wonderful combination. They are about to open up their physical location but from the smell from that smoker their whole menu must be great. We were passing through town and were looking for a good local restaurant. We did not want the regular fast food burger fare. There was a guy waving a sign so we decided to stop. One of the best BBQ I have had. I got the cheesy potatoes with brisket. The brisket was melt in your mouth yummy. The cheesy potatoes were baked just right. There was a lot of potatoes so I shared. The sauce was tangy and had just the right amount of spice. Hubby got the 2 meat combo with ribs and brisket. The ribs were good and meaty. My kids have been raving about Blackhawk for years and today I finally got to try it! We had spent the morning at the Ren Fair in Malad and had planned to eat there, but everything was closed. So, having seen a Blackhawk truck when we left Pocatello this morning, we opted to hunt it down and sample some good BBQ. Instead, we drove into Blackfoot to eat at the physical location and....WOW!! I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac & cheese, my daughter-in-law had the Triple Mac and my son opted for the nachos. Moist, juicy and perfectly flavored I enjoyed every single bite! Only suggestion I could make is to add a kettle chip selection for those of us who want something else with our sandwich but feel a side of mac & cheese or cheesy potatoes is too heavy/much (might I suggest another Idaho company? From the ribs to the brisket to the pulled pork (my favorite) and all the delicious sides, I could literally eat here every day and not get tired of it! This food truck was parked in front of the Dollar Tree on Yellowstone today so I stopped. The line went fairly fast. The young lady that helped me was very polite. I ordered 2 plates of nachos and the food was prepared quickly. When i arrived home we opened the boxes to discover a small portion of food inside. The food was cold to to the touch and taste. It felt as though it came out of a fridge. Nothing was hot or even warm. The food itself was tasty and the brisket, what was actually there, was tasty. The dish needed more meat and cheese as it was skimpy. Unfortunately, for the price paid the quantity size is not a fair portion. The styrofoam box could have been filled a little more and the food should be hot, not stone cold. I would recommend Smoking Gun BBQ in Blackfoot, its worth the drive. read more

Stopped at BH BBQ @ the EISF. Had a pork something or other on a stick. It was the toughest meat I've ever been served. The price was ridiculous but they did give me a lot of terrible tough pork on a stick. Won't be back and will tell all friends, family and neighbors. read more

Don't know why others have rated this low. There aren't many BBQ places in town, and out of the ones that are here. Blackhawk takes king. I always see a huge line to get food from this place and only once was I dissatisfied with the many many times I've been there. They're a food truck and they put out a quality delicacy. I hope to see them expand their business with a wider variety of food. read more
