Also a lovely black tea set to accompany my Green Tea the cast iron kept the tea warm for quite some time! Service - I was greated quickly by a lovely gentleman who smiled and escorted me to my table followed by promptly opening my menu for me (without being requested) and following back up to gather my order. There are videos on the TVs that help educate. The staff is helpful. The food is delicious. The atmosphere was great. Shabushi is handicap accessible. The bathrooms were clean. Parking is in a lot. This was a fantastic experience. My daughter chose this for her birthday lunch and we did the Shabu lunch which tasted great. I got the spicy chicken broth and she got the pork broth. The spice level was perfect and the meat and vegetables were spot on. The waiting staff was very friendly and walked us through the process. The burners at the table were efficient and cooked the food nicely. It was easy to talk and had plenty of light and parking. I love mushrooms and bok Choy asked for more as the vegetables are unlimited. They brought me the perfect amount of each and my chicken broth turned into a chicken mushroom broth and tasted wonderful. Love love love that pocatello got a hot pot place!! Hot pot essentially allows you to cook your own meat, seafood, vegetables at your table in a broth of your choosing. You can then dip it in sauces and have rice with it. It's common in Asia where hot pot is a communal dining experience. Definitely try it out. Also tried the sushi and it is by far the best sushi in town. Fresh and several options you normally don't see in pocatello like Ikura (salmon eggs) or Naruto (cucumber wrapped, no rice) sushi. They're currently understaffed (as everyone) so be extra kind and patient! read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. this place is amazing, the owners take such care to make sure the food is amazing. The food is definitely worth trying. The customer service is top notch. In fact the owners used to work next to Burger 208 where I worked in The student union on campus (we shared a wall). When I went to eat there with my friend (we live trying sushi from new place) they saw me they came and said hi and made sure our food was to our liking. They noticed that our broth was low for our shabu shabu so they personally brought more broth and vegetables. They have an informative video on how to use the pots for the shabu shabu and how to properly cook the meat. There is also enough food when ordering the shabu shabu for it to be a great group experience. You can tell that the owners have pride in their work because the food is top notch and the restaurant is clean. I love that Pocatello is getting more Asian restaurants and I'm sure this one will remain a favorite for years to come. Please come and enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine. read more

Stuff yourself...but everything is oil free/very low calories. If you have shabu, you make your own hot pot from your personal buffet! And so tasty. I am from coastal So Cal...and this was fresher servings than any restaurant I would recommend at home. Wish I had a bigger stomach to try the sushi selections. Prices are very reasonable for a meal like this. I would consider it an absolute bargain compared to my hometown! I will 100% comeback. $5 beer and $8 saki....yup. I will be back! read more

Loved this!!!!!!!! me and my husband went the other night just after they opemed. We usually have hotpot at home during the winter was debating on going to slc but found this place. Customer service was amazing very attentive. Food was amazing to got super stuffed we had tried a lot of new dishes and highly recommand the inigiri tomago and the topyoki. Definitely will be coming here again for dinner it felt very intimate because they just opened up so they didn't have a lot of people yet but when they did have people it was perfectly quiet in the atmosphere it was really nice. I would like to say though the only negative thing would be the spicy shabu broth wasn't as spicy would possibly like more spice. I highly recommend this place. I'm so happy that we have a place in Pocatello where we can get excellent shabu (cooked in hot pots in the table), and a good variety of sushi; my favorites so far are the Arigato Roll, and the Super Crunch. Pretty presentation, great quality ingredients, well prepared, and good service!!! We even had a yummy little mochi ice cream treat to top it all off. I love it.
