*This is a review for the gas station only* I want to start off by saying that I have been a loyal customer for several years. I liked this gas station so much that I even started bringing my car and referring friends here to the auto shop. My experience today has been the final straw to no longer be their customer. I have had three negative customer experiences in the past few months this year. First occurrence - went to a pump and the attendant came over to say the pump was out of service. Okay fine I'll go to another one and I moved on. Second occurrence - went to a pump and it was out of service again. This time I was annoyed and mentioned to the attendant the pump should be labeled so a customer is aware. Third occurrence - I saw a pump that was labeled as super only so I went to a pump that did not have a sign. I start pumping my gas and the attendant says it's super only. Okay now I am upset because I specifically went to a pump that did not mention this. A business that wants to continue to thrive and succeed always tries their best to provide at least some sort of "good" customer service. This third occurrence was just it for me. I just can't deal with this lack of communication and poor level of customer support. I am extremely disappointed with this establishment because I have been supporting them all this time. read more

I've been coming here for over 5 years now. This is the only place I come to, to get my car fixed. When I first had a window motor problem, I went to another place and they were asking for $300 because they said I needed a new window motor, I decided to just buy the motor myself and have them install it. But I decided to take it to black Rock instead. I left my car here. Got the call that my car was ready. When I got there. The original, old Tony, told me there is no charge because my motor wire was loose only. So I didn't need a new motor, so I still had my new motor in hand and wasn't charged at all for it. Blackrock is located at the Exxon Gas Station on 162 street & 46 Ave. I needed to renew my Car Registration and decided to check this place out as my past experiences in other Queens Gas Stations always tell me wait of 1.5 hours. I was greeted by Nick who seem to be running the show for the owner and he said there is only 1 car in front and can get to my car in 20 mins and pointed to the waiting area if I wanted to wait. In about 40 mins , Nick said his mechanic finished the inspections and was $37 and I was out there. This was one of the fastest inspection that I ever got. this has been my local repair shop over a decade now, since before it became BR and as far back as when it was a Sunoco before it became an Exxon. the full service has guys are always polite and stand out in the freezing cold, rain, or summer heat. i tip them 1$ every single time cause it's the right thing to do. the mechanic bays kept the same employees for many many years. most recently there is new guys working there and only 2 familiar faces left, but the quality of the repairs and fairness has not gone away in over a decade! read more

〰 Went in for an inspection, cabin filter, engine filter and to have my two front tires replaced. Tony (the owner) had the mechanic take my car in right away. I waited about an hour and a half (maybe less, I wasn't timing them) for the work to be done which is not bad at all. Pricing was right also, just as it always is!! I would not take my car to any other shop. Every time I have taken it elsewhere, I've had problems or my car was damaged. This place has good mechanics who know what they're talking about and they don't try and upsell things you don't need like when you go to a dealership service center. I would highly recommend this place! Just call in and make an appointment because they can be very busy at times which is more proof of how good they run their business. My daughter is a graduate student at St. John's University on a limited budget. Her 1996 Ford Explorer was beginning to make strange sounds. Tony diagnosed the issue on the spot and then some. He added oil, checked the transmission fluid, put air in the tires and only charged for the cost of the oil. By phone, I offered to pay for his labor but he would not accept.
