Blacks Creek Rest Area Eastbound, Boise
    Bruce K.

Yes, there are two rest areas here but I'm sure Yelp will merged them and so I'll just put my Eastbound review here. This is about 10 miles east of Boise towards Mountain Home so it's a good spot to check that everything is secure as you continue on I-84. Some shady spots, plenty of room and a clean restroom. The only thing that would make this five stars is a turn at the entrance to get folks to slow down. Too many cars entering the rest area too quickly because they're still slowing down from highway speed. [Review 17789 overall - 59 in Idaho - 1310 of 2022.]

Beautiful well maintained rest stop with no sketchy people. They have beautiful roses and day lillies along the lush green grass. Vending machines for pop and snacks available too.

Park like setting with beautiful trees and plenty of picnic areas with nice shady spots. Restrooms were clean. There are vending machines inside.

One of the BEST hotels I've ever stayed in…read more My husband and I decided to travel to Boise for a quick vacation & this place did not disappoint. As you walk into the lobby, you're immediately hit with a pleasant aroma/signature scent. Not to mention, the decor and atmosphere is top notch. The front desk staff made checking-in easy. There was a slight delay with room inspection before we could head up to our room (but truly, not a huge issue). We were able to leave our luggage behind the front desk & enjoyed a nice drink at the bar downstairs. Once we got to our room, I was even more impressed. The bathroom alone is worth another visit. The shower is massive and I loved the spa-like feel overall. Beds were comfortable and I enjoyed the cozy lighting. I could go on and on- just book the trip! I will be waiting until we can come back and stay here next time. Great experience!

The room was way more swanky than anything we ever stay in, but even my husband commented on how nice it was, and he isn't usually impressed with hotels. You could sleep in the shower with how much space there was. The ambiance definitely matched all the things I had heard about it - very industrial meets modern in a thoughtful way. And don't sleep on Blue Collar Coffee or the rooftop bar, if even for just the view of the foothills. You can't beat the location either - it's walkable to everything but just outside the true heart of downtown where it gets busier. Recommend for a staycation night (what we did) or a splurge-y stay with friends!

For more than eight years, the Hilton Garden Inn Boise Spectrum has been our "home away from home"…read morewhenever we stayed in Boise. The hotel itself was always comfortable and dependable, but the restaurant was historically what you would expect from typical hotel dining -- perfectly acceptable, but nothing especially memorable. In fact, we routinely walked across the street to Legends whenever we wanted a truly enjoyable meal. That has completely changed since Chef Todd Simtonson arrived. What Chef Todd has done with the food program here is nothing short of remarkable. He has transformed ordinary hotel dining into an experience genuinely worth looking forward to. The quality, creativity, consistency, and presentation now rival many standalone restaurants. I recently stayed at the hotel for 13 nights while recovering from knee surgery, and Chef Todd's food and hospitality honestly became one of the highlights of my stay. After long recovery days, it truly felt at times like having my own personal chef. That level of care and consistency made a huge difference during what could have otherwise been a difficult trip. Even better, Chef Todd personally checks on guests and clearly cares whether people are enjoying their meals. That kind of pride and personal attention is increasingly rare. The specials have been outstanding. The fried pork chops and grits were absolutely phenomenal -- comfort food elevated to restaurant-quality cuisine. The meatloaf was so good I went back for a second helping after practically licking the plate clean. Even the Caesar salad is dramatically better than it used to be. This is no longer "good hotel food." This is legitimately excellent dining hidden inside a Hilton Garden Inn. The entire staff deserves credit for making guests feel welcome, but Chef Todd has brought something truly special to this property. We are already looking forward to returning in June. Highly recommended.
