I have used Black's Tire & Auto on Elm St. for all my auto needs since moving to Lumberton, NC. I have recommended them to all my friends with total confidence. After helping my neighbor to get their non-working car to Black's, we were not sure what it would cost to repair. We were called initially with an estimate of needs and charges just to get it running so it could be further evaluated. Once that work was completed, we were notified that we could come get it. There was no more repairs needed. We are all completely delighted! The cost was a fraction of what we guesstimated that it would be! You can trust Black's! I've gone to Blacks several times and always have good service but this last time was exceptional. Eric Townsend went out of his way to help me in a difficult situation. He is, in my opinion, the best employee they have in knowledge, service and also compassion. Blacks Tire is very fortunate to have him as an employee. Blacks may be a little more expensive but it's worth the cost when you get great service and they care about their customers. All of their employees at the Biggs Park location are great. Took my sons car in to get a screw out of the tire. After about 20 minutes, guy at desk comes out and stated the tech couldn't find a screw. i immediately took it to Walmart, their tech called me over, showed me the screw in the tire. Once fixed,I took the screw, went back to Blacks, showed it to the guy working the desk,,, he stated" that don't look good , does it ". I told him no, and it's causing you to lose business. Due to my job I travel a great deal and have to worry about issues with my vehicles. I had a wheel bearing fail on my truck and needed to get it repaired. Not only did they fight for a discount for my part but he gave me a discount on the labor as well. He even offered to wait on parts if I wanted to order them and he would install them as well. My wife, new to the area, had her battery die after work yesterday. The guys at this place was awesome enough to come to her rescue.... and didn't charge the damsel in distress in the rainy evening with practically no one around. They were prompt, professional and just plain awesome! I recommend these folks if/when you find yourself in the Lumberton area! I had a bad shimmy in my car and thought that I needed an alignment. The gentleman explained to me that wasn't what the car needed, and didn't try to talk me into anything extra. Inspected my tires, and found that I had a bubble on one tire, and that the tread was about to separate. My husband and I decided to buy two tires, to keep the wear even. We were given a good price, and the tires were installed and balanced in no time. We will be back. read more

Wow! Pulled in with a flat tire on our brand new 31 foot toy hauler (62 feet with the truck). They got us in and out within an hour. The stood in the pouring rain to stop traffic to get us backed out and headed in the right direction. Highly recommend them. Nancy & Peter from Vermont. read more

We were returning home from Florida when we noticed something wrong with brakes.Check in at Best Western so we could have someone look at the brakes in the morning.We called Black's and Mike(Mr Nice guy so you think)Butkey and he said sure bring it over.We arrived and he said give him about 30 minutes and he would have an answer needless to say it was longer and found out that previous service not done correctly and it would take a couple of hours to fix.Almost fixed and they advised that the right caliper brake was bad and also needed replacing in order for the brakes to work.I then found out it was not back the mechanic Jose had broked off the nut but it was not his fault because it was screwed on to tight.I did not think that was my problem.I asked Mike about it one guy saying bad and one saying he broke it off.All of sudden Mr Nice guy Mike Dissed me royally,would no longer even answer any questions.I then asked to talk to manager because that was unacceptable customer service to me.Then Mike thought maybe he should tell his side of story so he went into a back office called Manager and started talking about me.I asked Mr.Jones who was out front if Manager was in that office he said no and went to check what Mike was doing because I said I could hear him talking to Manager on phone.Anyway long story short Manager (forgot to get his name)because the car was ready) comes out like he dosent know whats going on when I know he did because Mike called him on phone.Mike came to aplogize and said he is never like that.I guess it was my lucky day then.Anyways I just wanted to say not reliable and not forthcoming on what is really happening. read more
