Found a Honda CRV online that my wife liked so decided to give these people a try. I let the Internet Sales Representative Tonia Hunt know up front that I was not interested in playing games and I was shopping other dealerships for the best price. Tonia responded with a price that no other dealership could touch so I discussed it with the wife and we decided to make the purchase. Made the appointment and arrived early with our trade to make the deal. After waiting 15 minutes a salesman by the name of Ryan Parker came over and introduced himself. I explained that I was there to see Tonia Hunt and was informed that I would be working with him. Ok, no problem. We sit down with him and he pulls the vehicle around that we were there to purchase. Guess what? Wrong vehicle therefore wrong price. The old bait and switch game. They tried to make it look like I made a mistake. Review my attached photos from the emails I received from Tonia Hunt. Do yourself a big favor and don't waste your time with this dealership. They lack Integrity and Honesty!

First invoice with out the door pricing on it.

I wanted to share my experience with Lumberton Honda and the customer service I received. I reached out a few weeks ago and talked with Eric Locklear (salesman) about the car I was looking, he told me the same as every other dealership that the inventory is low ,but cars are trickling in slowly. He kept in contact with me over the week and called Tuesday to let me know the car I was looking would be in on the next truck. I said great I want the car. Eric said he would call me when the car came in so I thanked him and waited for his call. Today 5/12/22 he calls and says the car has come in and I said okay and I would be there no later than 7 pm. I then asked for an Out the door price because I have payment already and won't need the dealerships financing. I asked for an invoice so I could give to my credit union. He asked my address etc and replied he would send over an invoice. I received the invoice but asked if I could get a break down of the charges. He then sent over another copy and this time the price had increased $1,000. I asked why and Eric told me because they weren't getting any incentives for financing. So, I looked on the website to find the car and the MSRP, and found it listed for much less. I asked what the charges were and I was told total protection package plan and window tinting. I asked what does the total protection package cover and I was told coupons for service, window treatments every 6 months. The other items were basic add ons like cup holders etc. I told Eric I wasn't local and I didn't need the add ons. I asked if those could be taken off and he said he couldn't make that call. I told him I would send a price of what I thought was in fair range. I sent the price added tax, tags and title but never heard back. I was to pick up the car at 7pm , but received an email to let me know the car had sold. It's disgusting on how this dealership raised the price on a car and knew it was unethical so they send an email to say it's sold. I understand dealerships are trying to make a profit but not like this! Beware before buying at this dealership!

Things were taking way longer than expected and had to leave. Only thing I was told was everything looked good and he would know more when a "HARD PULL" was done when I came back. No info on vehicle prices, interest rates, etc. Upon getting in my vehicle Darrell Butler said he would keep our information on file so another credit didn't need to be run. In a hurry for an appointment, in up the road I realized what he said about pulling credit. Sure enough, we checked our credit reports and NOT ONLY were we LIED TO about "SOFT PULL" BUT there were TWO "HARD PULLS" DONE on both of us. Calling the dealership I spoke with Mr Taylor stating he was a manager. He stated retraining was needed for Mr Butler. If Mr Butler has truly been doing this almost 30 years, he does not need retraining. He needs to answer to the Lord FOR ALL HIS LIES. I made it to the dealership and had limited because I have prayer at 6pm in spring lake NC. I test drove the vehicle and noticed the tire pressure light on. Larry mentioned that the guy that owned it before had large tires and swapped them out. I asked about the price so he looked it up. It had on line price as 45k . I saw the screen. He said he went to talk with manager to discuss it. They came back with 46,800.00. He took my 2015 740LI with around 117k miles for 6k. Well after all the paper work was done I left and went home. The next day the vehicle arrive and Gave them the care . Later I checked the truck out and noticed the truck had a paint-less sticker on the inside of door jam on the drivers side. I had received a call from finance manager and she reminded me to send the check. I hit redial and called her to ask for a Carfax. She said she would send it right away. She never did and refused to answer calls when I called to check. I sent a message to Larry. He was not at work. I ask him about the floor mat and the owners manual and the car fax. I Got all but the owners manual after he said he would send the stuff. I looked at the car fax and noticed a air bag deployment and moderate damage reported. Usually dealers give you a Carfax before selling you the vehicle. I saw why I did not get one after I red it. I talked to Larry about returning the vehicle or partial refund and about a warranty. He said they Rey refused to do anything. So here I am having to go through outside litigation or get a Lawyer. It is hard to resale a vehicle with an airbag deployment on Carfax. Had I seen the Carfax I would not have gotten this vehicle.

Finally, with school 2 days away she calls again. Still waiting for a part! She says I need a car to drive, I bought a car and have no car. Very unprofessional. No followup whatsoever. TLDR: they gave me a lottery ticket designed to trick you into thinking you've won a lot when in…read morereality you've won nothing. Received a massive ad flier in the mail that served as a "scratch off lottery ticket" for an event they were putting on. This ticket was probably 13"x17" and covered with all sort of different advertisements designed to be as distracting and nonsensical as possible. Scratched it and it said I "won $2,500 instant cash". Obviously I was skeptical of this so I looked all over for fine print and in the fine print it said "no purchase necessary, match your winning number and claim your prize". Still skeptical I called the dealership to confirm this was legitimate and was responded with "yes this is legit, just come down with the flier and you'll get your prize." So I drove an hour to their dealership, sat down with one of their salesmen, filled out some paperwork and suddenly he walks out with a board that's got different numbers than what's on my scratch off. Finds a random, different small print section that wasn't on the "scratch off" part and says "this is my 'real' winning number" and matches it to his board. With the "real" winning number the most I would walk out with is a $5 chick fila gift card. It cost me more in gas to get to the dealership than the card was worth. After being Obviously upset, an "event specialist" walks over and attempts to explain how it works trying to read the fine print to me as if I didn't already do that myself. She kept saying that it's a "marketing strategy" and when I said it's not marketing it's called deceit she got mad and walked off. In what world is the number you literally scratch off on a lottery ticket not your winning number and how am I expected to know there's this magical second smaller number hidden on the page. Had they explained that when I CALLED TO CONFIRM I would have no issues but they clearly don't care. If a business has to lie just to get you in the door imagine what they're doing to get you to buy something. I would highly recommend not doing business with folks who show such little concern for honestly especially when conducting business in the 10s of thousands dollars.
