Stopped at this place on a whim. Best decision. I had the "Swiss Pig" which was a burger with bacon and ham. Hubby had the "It" burger. It was a burger with brisket, cheese, and smoked sausage. Was passing through Yellville and saw this place. It just had that great look from the outside so I had to stop. The inside of the place is just as welcoming as the outside. Very nice decor. The ordering process is counter service which is what I've grown accustomed to with bbq. It doesn't take long to get your food as the staff is very friendly and quick. I had the pulled chicken and chopped pork combo with BBQ beans and chips. The chicken was great. Cooked just right with just the right amount of smoke. Same goes for the pork. The BBQ beans had a nice mix of sweet and spicy with a small hint of smoke. The only thing that was disappointing was the chips. They were just regular old lays potato chips out of a bag. I was expecting homemade, seasoned thick kettle chips. The tables were 3/4 full and everyone seemed to know everyone yet they were friendly to an outsider like me. The owners even stopped by my table to make sure I was enjoying my meal. Great people. If I am ever in Yellville again I will most certainly be back to Blacksheep Joes. 5 stars all around. read more

Its the magic, time tested combination. Dont mess with perfection. They treat you like you are family coming over for Sunday dinner. GIve the wife or husband a much deserved break and not be disappointed with the food or service. Randy & his wonderful staff work hard to make sure that you get the very best taste of the South and the friendly, courteous service at his restaurant will make you feel welcome. We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the opportunity last week. O M G.....we have claimed every Friday Blacksheep Friday....best brisket I have ever tasted....no sauce needed. Had the "IT" burger last week.....what a burger...1/3rd lb burger with cheese topped with brisket then topped with split smoked sausage. To Die For! Tonight is brisket alone with smoked mac-n-cheese. Came here to Yellville two months ago to see out children and grandchildren. Ate wonderful brisket and sides at Blacksheep and we're back in Yellville from South Carolina for Thanksgiving, can't wait for more of their brisket! This place is cute, cute, cute and the have a big menu so if BBQ isn't your thing, they have other goodies. I am a pulled pork snob, and unfortunately Blacksheep's didn't do it for me. Soft and moist, but almost watery. Nice smoke, but not a lot of seasoning. Good selection of sauces, I like the tangy and sweet. Spicy isn't my bag, but their spicy is spicy. Love their sour cream potato salad with bacon. Got the fried corn on the cob, which I've had at other places with fried breading which keeps the corn moist. These were literally fried ears with butter on them, and tasted like they had been nuked to death in the microwave. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Think they have satellite radio and it was on a great station -- lots of Johnny Cash and Simon & Garfunkel. I'll be back, try some other stuff. I'd like to try the slaw, fried okra, baked beans, and they have a pork tenderloin sandwich which I love. read more

We wanted to try local barbecue when we were driving through Arkansas at lunchtime today. We found BlackSheep BBQ in our search and decided to stop there. The girl who was taking the orders was extremely happy and sweet. I ordered the brisket sandwich, coleslaw, and iced tea and my husband ordered a Barnyard burger, tater tots, and iced tea. My brisket was really good. I used the sweet sauce on it. I took one bite of the coleslaw and it was terrible. Tasted like a dirty refrigerator. I threw it away. The tea was great. My husband enjoyed his meal. read more

We just went to dinner at Black sheep afternoon being back since they opened to give them a second chance. I will admit the food was better this time so all in all average experience in that form other than a few things that are more personal taste with food than quality issues more than likely. My issue is the fact that I attempted to tip the hostesses/servers who not only brought out the food to our table while I was getting condiments but just about every person that walked around the dining area checked on us at least once making sure we had everything we needed and even offered to remove anything we were done with like typical servers. So I felt like I would leave a tip for them for the service they provided. Apparently they do not get to keep the tips, instead they go to the cook who at this point I have to assume is the owner. I was appalled by this and even called to complain. Which one of the nice hostesses answered who was even nice then saying there was no reason to worry and even tried to discourage me from giving a bad review. And she was one of the ones who they money should have went to. As far as I'm concerned that money was stolen from the ones who deserved it. If the cook is the owner then they make money off of profits, if the cook is not the owner and needs tips then the owners need to pay them better, but when someone leaves a tip, 99% of the time, they are leaving it for the person who provided the service not that cooked the food. The food is only average BBQ and higher priced than average as well. There is no reason to pay the cook even more to do their job . Again food isn't bad but it's not worth paying even more than the establishment already charges Will not be back. read more

I wanna give 5 but this is BBQ, and I've experienced a lot in my travels, but Blacksheep BBQ is crazy-good. Brisket that must have won several awards, and ribs that I will dream about. Fall-apart perfect flavor with a bit of smoky char, I'm getting hungry again just writing this. Standard 3 sauces to choose from....I went Spicy & a shot of tangy, my goodness! We are so happy we stopped here. 1/2 kids meals on Wednesdays, super affordable, nice size menu with lots of choices. I ordered smoked chicken and fries, BBQ sauces were good with 3 to choose from. So first off this is the only place in yellville that I know of that sells beer with your meal. It's not a huge selection but it's still a couple different brews and it fits the bbq really well. Now to the food. I don't think I've ever had a better brisket ever. It was smoked to perfection. The fried okra was great also and so was the baked beans. The decorations here are awesome and fit in for bbq in small town south and it's perfect. I can't say enough good things about it. read more

Great barbeque! We got the rib and brisket plate dinners. Fall off the bone ribs. Brisket you can cut with a plastic fork. Okra was the perfect crispness.
