I cannot understate enough how much of a mistake it was to choose Mr Cabinet Care for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Mr Cabinet Care. We arranged & purchased custom cabinet drawer fronts that were supposed to be high-quality, but they arrived with noticeable gaps. the gaps were problematic for two reasons: 1. for the drawers / doors that closed incorrectly and 2. for being prone to collecting food debris (and unable to clean or remove that debris). When I contacted the company about this clear defect (the food /gap error), they completely dismissed my concerns, blaming "care and maintenance" instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. Even worse, they provided doctored photos in an attempt to shift the blame, falsely suggesting that residue such as gum or putty had been left on the drawers. Not only was this completely untrue--no such residue existed in any of the photos we originally provided, nor in any additional photos we took. Falsifying evidence to avoid responsibility is not just dishonest; it's unethical and gives us even greater concern over other claims they've made in workmanship or materials. The operations manager even said The material you selected, White Oak Select, is naturally prone to expansion and contraction due to environmental factors such as heat and humidity. Upon reviewing the photos taken by the technician, it appears that the issues you are experiencing are likely related to care and maintenance, rather than any manufacturing defect." These were installed weeks prior to our notice, not years later, and during a cool weather season. To claim extreme weather (like heat & humidity) in San diego is laughable and outrageous. Under California law, products like these are covered by warranties ensuring they are fit for their intended purpose. These drawer fronts clearly do not meet that standard, yet the company refused to honor its obligations. Instead of standing behind their product, they chose to manipulate the situation to avoid accountability. Beware if you work with them and have future warranty issues, youre going to likely run into similar defenses and accusations. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. If they are willing to misrepresent facts and dismiss valid concerns, I can only imagine how they handle other customer complaints. I regret my purchase and would never recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship or honest customer service. We will not be using them for any future HGTV projects nor recommending them to other clients or customers. Update: 3/2026- cabinetry paneling (eg, refrigerator) has now had its glue come undone leaving a larger gap on one panel vs other panels ... We've also seen stripping used for drawers come unglued. the masterclass in poor workmanship continues ...

She's super honest as well and doesn't try to upsell. She also has great suggestions and has made our lives dramatically easier. Ferguson has so much to choose from, including hundreds, maybe thousands of items not on the floor, but in different colors, sizes and formats. Even their signature line is amazing - and so well priced. Plus most everything is under warranty and if an item gets damaged upon receipt or in transit, they'll stand behind it. I love that. We're still in the process of choosing everything, but I wanted to write this review now since we're heavily working with Tara and appreciate her input so much. His attention to detail was outstanding. He even reinstalled a few cabinets (which meant redoing the work) to ensure everything was perfectly level. The final result speaks for itself. EV Granites did an amazing job with the countertop. They measured everything with precision, created perfect templates, and made excellent use of every inch of the granite slabs. They were friendly, answered all my questions, and worked efficiently to get the project completed quickly. The entire project was wrapped up in just a couple of weeks, which completely surprised me. I had been worried because similar projects often take months. When Heidi and Jai first shared the timeline, I was skeptical (as contractors often overpromise), but Pure Cabinets did the opposite. They beat their already aggressive timeline. It was a refreshing experience. I wish I could find a general contractor with the same level of professionalism, reliability, and customer focus. Blackstone Granite just finished installing the granite in our newly remodeled kitchen and we could not be happier. On a scale of 10 we would give them a 20. We worked with everyone at this family owned business, which we like because we are also a family owned business. We first met Mauricio who invited us to his showroom. Ana worked with us at the showroom helping us to select the most beautiful granite from Blackstone's custom imported Brazilian inventory. Like many other remodels, budget was an issue at the end of the project but Anna suggested we go with a 2-1/4 Miter Edge Upgrade, which added a little cost, but resulted areal dramatic visual improvement to the project. Asafe came out to do our template, helped us make some last minute adjustments, which we made, to insure the final installation would be perfect. Then they recommended that we go into the showroom for a preview of how the template laid out on the slabs. Asafe, Anna and Mauricio all took time with us to show us how the template laid out and how well matched the top and Miter Edge would be. Mauricio was intent on making certain to lay out the template as efficiently as possible and that the match of the grain & movement would be perfect. Workmanship we would rate as "as a master craftsman". Once we decided on the granite our installation was done in about 2 weeks - as close to instant gratification as you could get. We did shop around before making the decision and we found that Blackstone's final estimate represented the best value in comparison to the other estimates we received. Very Competitive Pricing.You Cannot Ask For Better Service. Excellent Design Expertise. Master Craftsman Fabrication. Impeccable Final Installation. 9-25-2023 I just wanted to write a new review for BlackStone as they have shown their professionalism in taking care of the situation we had prior. Asafe contacted me immediately after reading my review, said Lucio would be contacting me to look into it personally. Lucio came out and looked at the situation I had with the backsplash agreed it should have been done differently arranged to have his installer's remove and remake the pieces. luckily I kept the remnants for them to do the redo. They just came and removed the backslashes and said they should have it reinstalled this week. This is how every company should treat their customers. Just want to thank them personally. read more

We used Blackstone recommended by our contractor and other clients. They are in a industrial park in Vista with a showroom of samples. We were looking to install granite countertops but decided on quartz instead because of it's durability. The installation only took four days on to the kitchen cabinets. Our remodel went very well considering the extent of the work being done taking out walls. Samuel also had one of his guys do the tile flooring, shower and tile backsplash. They recently installed quartz countertops in both of our upstairs bathrooms, as well as installing slate veneer over existing tile in both bathrooms. They also do tile floors and shower walls which will be next. We are glad we used a licensed contractor for our remodel and for the kitchen cabinets they had a referral for that too. Charley was our project manager; he kept the project moving forward and was extremely responsive to texts and calls. They helped us change the cabinet layout a bit and it ends up being more functional while also having much more usable space. The flooring and baseboards turned out terrific, it really changes the look and feel of the space. We had picked out something that was not one of their usual suppliers, but that was no problem. They really work with you to get exactly what you want. All the workers were friendly, skilled and left our house clean at the end of the day. My thanks to everyone that worked on our project. Chuck finished the kitchen up and did fine work with our plumbing which required some intricate work to accommodate our layout. I highly recommend Mastercraft and would use them again for any future work.

Of the many options they had the best ideas and the qualified workmen. Mike Garst considered the project from every angle, brought in members of his team on 3 occasions to suggest approaches. When they opened the dry wall we found the supports were rotted & had to be replaced. They built a roof support, replaced damaged wood, added cement inside the walls higher than outside level to prevent leaks, then filled a beautiful solid cement floor and repaired the drywall. Better than good as new, this room boasts a superior foundation that gives me confidence. Every member of Mike's team is punctual, profesional, knowledgeable and courteous. When work was done, Mike came and, on his own account, adjusted the sticky sliding door so it moves smoothly. Mike's boss, Brian, also came several times to look over the project. I feel very fortunate to have had MASTERCRAFT take on this hugely complex project and bring a disaster to a happy ending.They explained options, patiently answered my questions and were courteous and pleasant throughout. The quality of their work is outstanding. I will absolutely hire them again - next project plumbing!

Juan came to our home to evaluate, answer our many questions and offered some great recommendations. We selected a beautiful piece of quartz from his "bone yard" and Juan masterfully fabricated it for our hearth. STAY AWAY!! BAD!! DISHONEST!!…read more I had a terrible experience with this company. Their installers came into our home to place the sub-tops for our counter-tops and cracked the faces of three different brand new $10K cabinets. You would think they would've stopped after the first one they cracked. They were huge cracks that required the cabinets to be replaced. But wait, this is just the mild part of my experience. When I spoke with the manager immediately after the incident happened he tried to convince me that they were going to patch my cabinets where they were cracked. I explained that my cabinets were brand new and I didn't want $10K patched cabinets. The boxes that their workers cracked could be replaced properly for $2500. I spoke to Home Depot and several other contractors and they all said that they should be replaced. I told the manager to please have the owner Mr. Davis call me. When I called back they pushed me off to the secretary. I don't know how many times I spoke to that poor lady. I wrote several emails and made several calls asking to have the owner call me. Why wouldn't the owner just call me? To this day I have never spoken with the owner. Why, I don't know? I guess he is too busy for his customers. When they refused to pay for the damages to get the cabinets fixed properly I was forced to order the new replacement boxes out of my own pocket. I pulled the countertop job from them and had to send them several threatening letters over several weeks to get them to pay anything. They ended up sending me a partial payment along with a bill for $700 for measuring and putting in the sub-tops. Yes, that's right the same sub-tops that were installed improperly, cracked our cabinets, had to be redone, and put my family without a kitchen for an extra 2 months. In the end I had to file a small claims case against them. They ended up paying me a couple days before the court date. I guess they didn't want to look foolish in the courtroom. What a nightmare! Look for another company. There are plenty. Just stay away from Davis Stone.

The owners are the best and they have amazing installers that care as much as the owners. I was having a hard time trying to decide how to update our stairs. The carpet is "runner style" and all of the staff was amazing at providing design choices. The install on runner and working around the wood is not easy and can look bad if not done well. Reach out to Rebecca and Mike if you need floors! Carpet, wood, ...they don't all very well. We have been a customer for over 7 years now.

Juan, our fabricator, was incredible and the fabrication was flawless. Natalie communicated with us from start to finish and the friendly customer service she provided was just awesome. She is very hands-on and was a pleasure to communicate with throughout the project. I especially want to highlight Jai, Joseph, and EV Granites. They all far exceeded my expectations. Jai, the project coordinator, was fantastic. She answered every question promptly, quickly arranged for a replacement part that was damaged during shipping, and stayed on top of every surprise that came up during demolition. She always provided clear options and kept the project moving smoothly. Joseph installed the cabinets at an impressive pace while maintaining exceptional quality. His attention to detail was outstanding. He even reinstalled a few cabinets (which meant redoing the work) to ensure everything was perfectly level. The final result speaks for itself. EV Granites did an amazing job with the countertop. They measured everything with precision, created perfect templates, and made excellent use of every inch of the granite slabs. They were friendly, answered all my questions, and worked efficiently to get the project completed quickly. The entire project was wrapped up in just a couple of weeks, which completely surprised me. I had been worried because similar projects often take months. When Heidi and Jai first shared the timeline, I was skeptical (as contractors often overpromise), but Pure Cabinets did the opposite. They beat their already aggressive timeline. It was a refreshing experience. I wish I could find a general contractor with the same level of professionalism, reliability, and customer focus.
