I've been waiting over an entire week to o receive an answer whether the owner will "allow" me to return a sealed box of tile that I did not use. I returned the the tile within a 14 days of picking up my order, it was almost two boxes but since it wasn't sealed the owner said he would take the sealed box back at a 30% restocking fee. I told him Maurice has said we could return any tile not used. Switch and bait. Also the owner was up on a crane repairing the ceiling of the warehouse when I was trying to return the tile. At the end he told his worker he would have to speak with Maurice and let me know what they decided. I left my tile there as he requested and have not heard from them since. I've called and left two messages. Fun fact : Yes, you generally need both a federal or state certification to operate most cranes, and specifically a valid license/certification if you are operating from inside the cab read more

Granix showroom and slab yard has many choices for your projects. Pricing is similar to many competitors. We purchased a pre fab granite island countertop for use on our outdoor bar top. The front bull nose edge fell completely off during install by a pro installer. He had to spend hours fixing the faulty glue joint from the overseas factory that churns these out. When we called Granix back to explain that they sold us a product that fell apart they basically said sorry and offered nothing as compensation. Admitted that yes these things happen as the slabs come from overseas and sometimes the glue the manufacturers use is not great. I would recommend shopping around before deciding on Granix. Customer service is poor and you really don't know what you are buying as they get these stock units from wholesale cheap vendors that use inferior materials to build the pre fabs. Walked in here with my family to purchase some tile for our backsplash. After looking through their options online, I was happy they were carrying the style I've been aiming for. The moment we walked in the owner (I'm assuming) and whoever was working with him looked the other way. No acknowledgment at all, even as we were shopping. It was so awkward. They said nothing to us. No acknowledgment at all. As someone who was excited to spend money here and visit for the first time since we live down the street, I was disgusted with the treatment and absolutely no costumer service we received. After having a less than optimal experience looking for slabs at MSI in Miramar (see my review of MSI), we drove all the way out to Granix in San Marcos based on the recommendation of our fabricator. We worked with Maurice while there; you won't meet a friendlier person than Maurice. He showed us the slabs that fit our color and pattern scheme, and we ended up purchasing a quartz slab from Granix that is actually manufactured by MSI ; although we discovered the Miraggio Gold at MSI's slab yard in Miramar, we didn't purchase it at Granix because the customer service experience at Granix was so much better (MSI because they refused to let us see the slab without the plastic covering, and they required that our contractor make the actual purchase rather than them just letting him call in and authorizing them to pass on his contractor pricing to us). read more

Our experience with Granix was great at the start of our project. Our sales rep Michael was excellent in showing us the Quartz and backsplash we were looking for and ended up purchasing. The reason for the 2 stars is the customer service/sales follow up. After we decided to purchase the product I called and left a voicemail and also emailed saying we were ready to purchase. Since it was the holidays I was giving them the benefit of the doubt to try and call back. Since no one returned my call, I called again and was able to purchase the product. When I received my reciept they added a 2.5% processing fee because I called and ordered over the phone. This was never discussed and never on the original PO. Since I live 2 miles away I would of gone in and paid to save that money. I have called 2 times and emailed 3 times with zero response to try and get that money refunded. I look forward to the new quartz and backsplash, I am more writing this as they need to pay more attention to the customer if they are looking for referrals in the future. read more

The sales staff here were quite nice and easy to work with and their products offerings were also quite nice. We ordered two prefabricated slabs and later thought we would need a third one for our laundry room restore, so we called and added a third one to the order. As it turned out, we did need the third slab, and not for a good reason. According to the company restoring our laundry room, all three slabs were cracked in multiple locations and had they not been broken and defective, then we would have only needed the original two slabs. The real significant complaint I have is that for the money we paid for the three pieces of broken granite, we could have purchased an intact full slab and had enough material to refinish our bathrooms as well as the laundry room. The downside at the finish line, we called to ask about why we were not told that the purchase we made was for defective material. We were informed that we DID know it was defective when we bought it. WOW! Not only did they think they were psychics, they thought we were psychics too! They're not and we're not. As it turns out, they are more likely shysters and we were merely their latest suckers. Hard pass on this place. read more

After searching high and low, this is the best place for prefab granite. What's really nice about Granix is that they separate most of their prefab in creates which makes it very easy to see the product. Some places are all mix and match with no name tags. Granix has a good diversity of colors and many samples are from Brazil. - Ask for Michael. He's good, and goes the extra mile. - The quality of the stone here is superior to the prefab I've seen at other places. - Service is casual but efficient. No pressure sales like other prefab places. - They have contractors working there ( in some fashion ) for pricing quotes on fabrication and install. Went in on a Saturday to look at quartz for a new build. We found something we liked that happened to be on sale. We didn't want to miss out on the sale opportunity, but we were still in the planning stages for a new build. We very specifically asked that if the slabs were purchased, would we able to return them should we have a change in plans. We were assured they would allow us to get a refund on them as long as they didn't leave their warehouse. Cool! Well, not so much. We have since had to change our plans, and are now going to have to move out of state. I called to let them know on Monday that we would need to return them. He told me he would get the process started and call me Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon came with no call, so I decided to call again. I was told that they would issue a refund and asked to provide a credit card. As I was pulling out my card, I asked to confirm the full amount would be refunded. He THEN decides to tell me there would be a 25% restocking fee along with a 5% credit card charge. This is absolutely NOT what we were told. We are a young military family on a limited income, and we made a decision on the spot with the assurance we could change our mind without a problem. I was told the owner will call me tomorrow. I will update this review after this matter is resolved. I am absolutely livid and feel completely taken advantage of. I was pressured into a purchase as the "sale" was limited time, only to be penalized for a product we never even picked up. I have never left a one star review like this, but I am absolutely appalled at the dishonesty. Edit to add: If you look at my review history, they are ALL 5 star aside from this one. It really takes a lot for me to bad mouth any small business. I am so upset and angry, and really hope they intend to make this right. This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. Just a bunch of money grubbers who have no shame in taking advantage of people. The person I spoke to tried to imply that there must have been a misunderstanding when I made the purchase. My husband and I were both there, and we were very clear that we were making this purchase on a possibility the project would not move forward. We could not have been more direct or clear. I was at the Murrieta Home Depot when a guy told my wife and I about this place and having pre-fab countertops for $125... so you bet we rushed down there ASAP! The pre-fab selection is limited to like 3 or 4 colors, but the entire warehouse actually has a really good selection of countertops, tile, etc. Customer service here is really hit or miss. The first time, every other person wanted to help us... the third time, we just stood around for 20 minutes before we finally left because they were so busy. Either way, it's not a bad place to shop... but due to the fact that both of their recommended installers don't really want to make the 30 minute drive up north to do the job at our home, we're gonna have to find another shop closer to us. read more

Granix is a mid-size slab yard with a large selection of pre-fab countertop and peninsula stone. We stopped in on a whim since we were dead set on using a competitor and are glad we did. They had some beautiful slabs of Delicatus Brown granite on sale for an unbeatable price so we asked for recommendations on a fabricator/installer. We selected Paul from Stone Pros (reviewed separately and also 5 stars) after he gave us a great price and quick timeline to meet our needs. Paul met us at Granix to pick slabs and the company was very accommodating with going through the racks to find the best book matched pair of slabs for our project. Ultimately, I was able to find something I loved. We were speaking with a gentleman named Maurice, and he was very attentive, and gave us his full attention. Although there were other customers, he didn't rush us, and he made sure to answer every question we had, regarding product, and just general advice on installations and contractors. If it weren't for him and his knowledge of the inventory and color palette knowledge, I don't think I would have made the right choices. Michael is also extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I went back! I was in need of a piece for a double sink bathroom counter and I knew they sold them. It was like I went to a different business. This time we were greeted immediately. (They were busy too.) The gentleman showed me some options in the colors we wanted. He was assisting another couple as well and when they approached he explained he had to pass me off to someone else. Eric is a true gem; he is very knowledgeable but also super patient...as after he showed me several options for what I was looking for, I was rather dumbfounded and indecisive. My husband and I first came here about 3yrs ago for our M. bathroom remodeling and we bought natural travertine stones for the flooring, shower, and backsplash, and granite countertop. My parents came 2yrs ago to buy some natural travertine stones for the flooring, shower, and granite countertops for their M.bathroom & guest bathroom. And now again this year for my home we came to buy wood flooring for kitchen, living room, hallway and kitchen countertop quartz. Currently both homes still look amazing. And get lots of great compliments. I will admit they are always busy with contractors and customers BUT they do STOP to let you know someone will be helping you. We were told that our bathroom floors would have to be removed around the toilets because of damage to the flanges. We headed out to tile stores to see if we could match our existing travertine. We had no luck anywhere until we hit Granix Stone. It was 4:45 p.m. and they were supposed to close at 4:30, but we saw the doors were open, so we went in. The only one there was John Rodal. He listened to our story and did his best to try to match the photos of our tiles. When that search proved fruitless, he made suggestions about using complementary tiles in different sizes to make it look like it was done on purpose. He even gave us samples to take home to see how they looked. We were only talking about five or six 20x20 in. tiles, but John made it feel like an important job. Thank you John, and thank you Granix Stone. We got a look at the beautiful marble and quartz and granite on display and we will return when we get around to renovating. read more

All businesses are glad to take your money. You find out the true quaility of any business when you have an issue and how it is handled. My wife and I decided to remodel our house including the kitchen. We knew little to nothing about counter tops. We had seen Granix many times just off the freeway. Thought we would seek their professional experience in choosing materials and installation. With our rough drawings of our kitchen and budget in mind we went into the store. After speaking with the staff and discussing our needs, we decided on quarts. The salesman showed us a selection of pre fab counter tops, available in 2 sizes listed as an Island and a Run. We found one we liked. We said we did not know when we would be ready to pick them up. Also asked for a referral of someone to install the product. The salesman indicated it was a product they always stock so time was no issue. He also provided a referral. We provided full payment. So far, so good. Called the person they referred . He asked that we send pictures of our cabinets and measurements. We provided details of the product we had chosen. He was not interested in stopping by to see the kitchen, take measure himself or discuss the installation. He provided a quote via text without ever stepping foot in our kitchen. Felt like he just wanted to make the sale with little to no effort on his part. A family member provided another installation referral. I called, they scheduled an appointment right away. They answered all of our questions about materials, seams, back splashes, cut outs, overhangs, edges, advantages, disadvantages,,,, After his measurements of our cabinets and seeing the sizes of the Island and Run we choose, he said there may not be enough material for all of the spaces we had. Was very upfront that we may need to purchase another piece. After all of his time he provided a quote that was sightly less than the guy who Granix referred us to. We agreed to proceed. Our installer went to pick up the counter tops. When he inspected the product he noticed the 2 pieces did not match and called me. I was able to go the the store right a way. Even my unskilled observation was they did not match. They checked all the stock and did not have matching pieces. At this point I asked for a refund. They said they would charge me a 25% restocking fee. Restocking of what? I never received any product. I felt that was unfair because they could not provide me with matching pieces. The salesman said that's just the way the pieces come and i should have known that. At this point I advised him that they are the "professionals" that we relied on their experience to try and avoid this type of issue. I left to talk with my wife and consider our options. A friend suggested we go to MSI in San Diego. What an amazing experience. Staff could not have been more helpful and the selection was fantastic. We decided to get our refund from Granix and buy from MCI. Went to Granix on Friday for our refund. Now i was told it was a 35% restocking fee. I said my salesman had told me 25% restock fee. He says sorry, that salesman is not here to ask. I pointed out that the receipt states 25% restock fee. In the end they charged me a 30% restock fee. That was over $700 in fees. I CAN AND WILL ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO SHOP ELSEWHERE!!! read more

My wife and I are really happy that we went to Granix for our granite needs. When we parked in their lot, we weren't sure where the front door was located, and wondered a bit in the pre-fab area. June came out and rescued us, and pointed us to the "slab yard" in back. Wow, what a selection! We found 3 or 4 right away that we liked. Our problem was narrowing our choice for our kitchen remodel. After some walking back and forth from choice to choice, we selected our stone slabs (we needed two). June was really helpful, pointing us to the harder stone options that we needed. She even had two of the guys come out and show us that the two slabs we selected were "book" choices (that required some manpower and some heavy equipment). That sold it for us. As we waited for her to price it out, we realized we needed tile for our back splash, and they had a huge selection - why go elsewhere, why not just buy it there? We did. Took us a while to decide, but we had a great opportunity to take the samples out to the yard and hold them against the granite we chose and look at color and texture. I don't know what happened to people in the past, but not only was June a great sales person (knowledgeable, polite, focused, etc.), but at least two other folks came up to us and asked if we needed help. Our experience was great customer service - and they were down a person or two due to vacations. I certainly recommend Granix to anyone looking for a wide selection of stone and/or tile. We were looking to replace a chipped tile countertop with granite in our casita and stopped in to check out what they had in stock. They have a ton of pre-fabricated granite which make small projects much more affordable. You're not forced to purchase a whole slab if you don't need it. Thankfully, we were able to find the same granite we have in the bathroom for $330 which was more than enough to do the kitchen counter in there. It was hard to find someone to help us but we got what we needed on our own as pricing is clearly labeled on the product. They did refer us to one fabricator that we spoke with and really liked and actually planned on using for our job. Fortunately/Unfortunately, we chose to not move forward with our project at this time because we were able to source the broken tiles after all BUT, we do plan on replacing those countertops in the very near future. We look forward to coming back when we decide to move forward. read more

Cynthia at Granix is awesome. We first met her when we were shopping for a granite slab for our kitchen counters and island. She helped us narrow our choices and to make our final selection got the yard guys to spread out a few slabs so we could pick our favorite. Moving them around is not easy and there was a lot of variation between slabs in the color we picked. We knew the rough dimensions of our (new) countertops and were able to do a rough layout to pick the best slab. Next was the backsplash... After an epic fail on our part we came back to Cynthia for help. There are so many tile choices that we just get overwhelmed. She came up several recommendations all along a similar theme (much simpler than we had done on our own) which highlighted the granite countertops rather than compete with them. She also helped lay out a pattern of random "jewel" inserts to add little splashes of color that highlight the colors in our granite. Granix is a great place to wander around and look at their huge selection of tile and a yard full of granite. It's a busy place so if you need design help I'd recommend having a general idea of what you want to do first (remember the wandering around?) and then making an appointment for a time when it's not so busy and you can have their full attention. Bring pictures of your kitchen/bath/whatever. Dimensions are necessary eventually to order the right amount of tile. Pinterest is a great place to find likes (and dislikes too). We will be back to see Cynthia when we redo the bathroom- and we'll make an appointment first! read more

We had the BEST experience with Granix. It was one of the best parts of our remodel. We popped over months ago to look at what they have. Lots of selection of custom granite. We were not there for prefab granite we wanted the real deal, and we got it. Maurice helped us from start to finish and he was amazing! He was incredibly helpful and friendly. He truly went above and beyond for us. We went with a leathered granite. Picked out what we wanted but decided we weren't quite ready to buy yet. At that time they had a ton of this particular granite so we thought we were good to wait. Then one day we drove by and decided to stop and make sure they still had plenty, we got there after they were closed but the owner was there and told us not to worry go check. There were only 2 slabs left at that point so we said we have to hold them! The owner stayed late with us which was super nice, seems like these days every business I go to anywhere near closing time is shuffling me out like cattle, not this place. The owner himself stayed and helped us, which we appreciate because its hard for my husband to get out of work in time to get down there. We ended up buying the two slabs and having them fabricated by the man Maurice recommended. The fabricator was just as nice and helpful as the guys at Granix even coming before we were ready to let us know how many slabs we would need. The countertops were installed perfectly and we absolutely LOVE them! I can't imagine we will need any more granite anytime soon but I would recommend them to anyone in the market! read more
