My grandchildren loved it! The waiting is a pain but it's very organized. While you wait they have a play area for the children.. Very nice... Then u wait inside and the children write a letter to Santa and after that u go outside again for some music and the children dance and love it! Finally u board the train. It is a 90 minute train ride. They provide a large cookie and hot chocolate and entertainment.. We all received the golden ticket. The Santa looked so REAL! I was impressed! He gave each child a bell. There is other things that go on ect.. This is a few highlights. It was fun! read more

We've gone twice over the past 3 years and have really enjoyed both times. I would give it 5 star, but I wish there was some flexibility with the pricing. For the table seating it's in blocks of 4, which I get, but that meant we would have had to buy a second table for $400 if there were 5 of us. Our 3 yo would have easily fit between my husband and I, and we could have had both grandparents sit across from us, but instead Nana stayed home. Maybe there could be some flexibility there in the future? When my son 1 we were able to do it for just 1 table, but now that he's 3 he needed his own ticket. I do love how the cast remains in character, and this year there were elves waving at the train when we got to the North Pole which they didn't have last year, so I thought that was a nice touch. Santa was really great with my son. A few people were asking for water to drink, and I do wish they had some, hot chocolate was perfect but this 30something momma needed some water too after the cookie and hot chocolate. I'm not sure if this is something I would consider doing every year as their routine is the same, and it may lose some of its spark, but it makes for a fun time nonetheless. read more

Blackstone Valley Polar Express - We got our ticket and dressed in our pj's! Let's head out to the North Pole! - Arts & Entertainment Near Me - Woonsocket, Rhode Island

So we got a Rhody Deal that was specifically for the 11/22 date for this and it was half off the ticket price. We have never been so this was a way to test whether or not the $60-$82 are truly worth it. Upon purchasing I had to correspond with the individual from PE to provide names. We were placed in the Cupid car in the back (6 seats). Tickets explained everything - parking (some free but we found that the $5 parking right next to the train station was perfect and worth it). The bathrooms at the station are located underneath the train station, no not downstairs, underneath (a walk outside) so prepare accordingly. We waited in a line outside as they require you show up 45 minutes in advance. Once you are presenting the tickets, the "characters" truly take the time and treat each family as a special guest - nothing felt rushed, which based on the people I was shocked to see. The doorman was pleasant and the two toddlers we had with us were enjoying every moment! Once inside, I must warn you, it's a sardine can. The place is decorated magnificently- there are photo opportunities in every corner, kids can get a temporary Christmas tattoo, take photos with the conductor and the train backdrop, also they can write a letter to Santa and put it in a mailbox. There's also a (surprise) storefront of Polar Express things for sale in addition to snacks and drinks - similar to a Disney on Ice event. We decided to hide out in a corner outside of the main room so we missed the confetti explosion of when they stated the train was ready to board. Then it's just a bug rush of people trying to get to their platform. They have "snow" and are ringing bells and just putting on a show. Once outside, you are directed to your platform and greeted by the entertainment in your rain car. From there it's a lot of songs, hot chocolate (perfect temp), cookies, coloring books, a reading of Polar Express - all til you get to the North Pole! There are "elves" working outside and Santa comes onboard and passes out a jingle bell to every kid. They had bathrooms on board. There was never a trash passed around so I sort of just shoved things in my bag. Everyone got a blue 'Believe' bag, candy canes and then on our way out of the building Santa ornaments. We also got to take a photo with Santa in his sleigh - the great thing is all of the photos taken don't have to be purchased they are on your phone which you take them with. Would I book it again? Sure, but I would likely book the premium cars (which are more expensive) but there's more room for the games and dancing which was a bit awkward to do with kids lined up in the row on a regular train car. read more

This was such a great experience! We drove from Philadelphia, PA and decided to spend Thanksgiving weekend in Boston to take our 3 year old daughter on this ride. It was worth it! The staff is incredible, everyone is so outgoing, this is something I rarely see. I took a short video and will add a link at the bottom of the review for anyone that wants a sneak peak of the experience. There are so many surprises on the ride. I did not give them away. My wife and I work very hard and like to take our daughter places. The worst feeling is when we spend a lot of money and feel ripped off. I left here feeling I got my monies worth. We have done this for the past 4 yrs with our 2 grandkids, I buy in July/August to get day/time/seats we wanted, it was approximately $350 for 4 tix but we always enjoyed. This yr sunday dec 1st it was predicting aweful weather, snow, sleet, ice, so us and parents decided we wanted to be safe. I called them, explained situation and said we would go ANY day/time, they would not bend, kept saying it was non refundable, we asked if they would send mugs and bells, they said they'd email us or call, all lip service, said would mail mugs and bells, still haven't received or gotten emails. So, so disappointed with management. read more

I don't know where to begin. All I can say is "WOW". I felt like I was really at the Polar Express. It was quite pricey, but it was worth every penny. Very organize and entertaining. This was a ride well worth the price for what you receive. If all the employees are like Heidi then I believe anyone would really enjoy this ride. She was entertaining for both adults and children and extremely talented to keep the mojo going as well as the magic the Polar Express story is meant to be...If I were Chris Van Allsburg I would feel like my story was brought to life. I loved the calm friendliness of the Main Conductor.. and the demeanor of the Santa who danced along to the music as only Santa can...only added to the magical journey. Okay, so I'd give it 4 stars if the price wasn't so steep. $70 for each adult and $67 for a 2 year old makes me cringe a bit... Here's the deal- you arrive and get to take photos with different characters while you wait to board the train. Be prepared for a nightmare in dealing with parking... then you get to sit at a table which is nice and they read the cute story, sing some Christmas songs, drink some damn delicious hot cocoa, eat a cute/fancy cookie, play bingo all whilst circling the lovely Woonsocket. You stop at "The North Pole" for a few minutes and a very legit looking Santa comes through the cart and gives your kid a silver bell. Very cute. Probably best to wait until your kid is old enough to understand the story or have seen the movie to have some appreciation for the event for that price tag. Our kid was 2 so I think we jumped the gun. We will probably not return until she's 5 or 6. $207 for some cocoa, cookie and a bell seems steep, no? Maybe I'm cheap... read more

THs is the fifth year my grandchildren, their moms, and I have gone to THE Polar Express. This event has always been great, only getting better each year! From the moment we arrived at the train station we ant the kids were engaged! Mr. & Mrs. Clause, the Elves, and the Conductor are fabulous.. Michael, our car host read the Polar Express while Chefs Dan and Amanda ourcar hots were so attentive an personable. During the ride we snacked on hot chocolate,served in beautiful Polar Express mugs (to take home). we also had allergy free cookies. Michael kept he car lively and fun leading us in singing Christmas songs. Each child is given a sleigh bell,(in a beautiful box) the mug, crayons and coloringbook. The Polar Express has provided so many happy memories for my family. read more

Drove 1.5 hours from our home in Mass to the Polar Express with my 6 year old son who loves trains. Yes it was a pricey gamble BUT, I felt the entire program was quite well done. The individual car hosts are obviously trained singers/actors and even as an adult Scrooge type person I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My son was hesitant at first that "it's not the real Polar Express because it's not Christmas Eve"...but ended up having a blast! I rarely write reviews about anything but I feel that the price is worth it considering how well done the production is and how many performers are involved and thus being paid for their work. Our car host made it fun for kids and adults, and I wish I could remember his name to give him a proper shout out. Our chef was Ashley and she was great. We were in Dancer Car at 4pm on November 19 2017. Definitely worth the drive and the cost! Plus we paid $5 for the "premium" parking right next to the train station and had no trouble getting in or out. Overall a special experience for my train-loving son and I to share. read more

This is the third year and probably the last we will do the polar express. I am very bored throughout the ride, it's the same routine each year. I'm not sure if the workers were just exhausted since it was the last ride of the night or what but they didn't seem too into it. One of our seats was wet, it looked as if someone had a potty accident on it, so even though we paid for the seat, we didn't use it and kept our daughter on our lap. We were told the train would heat up once they closed the doors and it never did. It was freezing the whole time and I never took my jacket off. My daughter liked it but wasn't super crazy about it. honestly I did go back when it was around $45 per ticket and I thought it was overpriced then. the workers read the book give you hot chocolate and you get a train ride and a bell from santa it is a cute idea and I honestly would go again if they did something about their pricing. it is insane to charge $75 per person when most people have a family of 4 which is a minimum of $300 THATS NUTS!!! even if you can afford it the way I see it is this is just a greedy company trying to rob family because its christmas time. when you think about how much an actual train ride cost and then consider you will get hot chocolate, a cookie and the kids will get a bell while someone reads a book its just so insane to me. there is no way this was worth more than $35 a ticket. I do wish the newport dinner train still did their polar express because atlas there everyone gets a table and way better scenery and lights and they sing and read the book and it was so much more enjoyable there. read more
