Definitely a fun area with a cool, high-energy atmosphere-great spot if you're looking to get dressed up, take some fun photos, and soak in the vibrant rooftop vibe near Times Square. That being said, the drinks were pretty ehhh. For the price point, they were pretty mediocre and didn't really live up to the visual presentation.

I've been meaning to come here for a long time! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've seen photos of this place during the winter time, they decorate it so beautiful with Christmas decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This time around I came for a Knicks game. Luckily I was able to be part of a table reservation that faced the game! Side note, the menu items are on the pricey side. Our waitress was very attentive always checking up on us. Considering how packed it got as the night went on. Cool rooftop of your trying to go for drinks and catch up with friends.

After work happy hour at the Magic hour was such a good idea. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was so beautiful and nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was 10/10 from the coat check downstairs to the bartender that served our drinks everyone was lovely. The carne asada tacos were juicy and tender nice flavor. And the wings were made well and had a nice crunch not overcooked. The crash out was so refreshing and had nice kick. I also tried their frozen passion fruit margarita so delicious. Highly recommend

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day 2025

Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge is in Midtown Manhattan, walking distance from places such as Madison Square Garden, Macy's Herald Square, Times Square, etc. We visited here Christmas Eve & Christmas Day 2025 - both days for after-dinner cocktails & for great lounge-vibes during the fabulous holiday season. Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge has both Indoor & Outdoor Rooftop Space. Indoor is a Western-Themed / Aspen Style - Inspired Lounge Space. Going in was 1-2-3...we showed our ID's to Security at the front, went down the hall & then around the corner to get the elevator. Magic Hour is on the 18th Fl. There are multiple bars, various seating arrangement options & my favorite the Carousel Space. The Carousel has several couch-style seating sections where you can sit w/ 2 or 3 people & it rotates. We had cocktails on X-Mas Eve at the bar & then made our way over to the Carousel. The carousel ride was so relaxing, that we headed straight to sit there our entire time on X-Mas Evening while enjoying cocktails & light bites. The Chicken Wings & Parmesan Fries were delicious. Both were flavorful. The lighting arrangements throughout the space were so pretty to view both evenings & there are views of the Empire State Building. Friendly, Attentive Staff & overall warm atmosphere provided a great 2-day bar/rooftop experience. The bathrooms were clean & at one point in the evening, Staff needed to replenish toiletries & did so promptly. I look forward to returning. moxytimessquare.com @magichourny Mon. - Wed. - 5pm - Midnight Thurs. - 5pm - 2am Fri. - 5pm - 4am Sat. - 11:30am - 4am Sun. - 11:30am - Midnight Brunch Service - Sat. & Sun. - 11:30am - 3:30pm Happy Hour - 5pm - 6:30pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a vibe. A solid rooftop but nothing extraordinary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A coworker made a reservation for us. We entered through the Magic Rooftop entrance (diff from Moxy hotel). We checked in and showed our IDs there. We were seated immediately at a long table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was decorated nicely, however there were still Christmas trees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They don't advertise the happy hour menu so you will have to pull it up on your phone. We got some shots and I got the winter spritz (cranberry). It was fine but didn't taste like much. Not a strong cranberry flavor. We also got chips and guac and truffle fries to share.

My rating would be 3.5/5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]The best thing about this place was the food and atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The winter wonderland theme was sooo good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a really pretty rooftop and the inside was so fun and had a bunch of photo ops.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was super yummy but small portions. Particularly the Parnassian fries! It was also pretty pricey, but that was to be expected. Maps originally took us to a hotel, which turned us around for a second and we had to find our way to the entrance. I shared a photo of the entrance so that hopefully it helps someone else find it. Our service was okay, not super exceptional. We had to flag down our waitress multiple times throughout the night. They were all nice enough, but just not very present. If I could rate them a 3.5/5 I would, but I really don't think they deserve 4 stars.. if our service was better, it was easier to find/advertised, and if the the portions were bigger I would say it could be 4. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pros: cute photo ops, rooftop experience, good food[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cons: pricey, service was mid, confusing to find

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The name speaks for itself, a fun and magical setting![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for a chill atmosphere with a comfortable ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We decided to have appetizers and drinks before going out for dinner. I had a delicious sparkling spritz and guacamole and chips. We had great service and everything came out quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the spinning seat and was fun to take pictures and videos in[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Next time I would like to sit outside to get the real rooftop feel![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely take another visit the next time im there!

    Jimmy K.

We checked this place out for an after dinner drink recently and had a great time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were doing a ski lodge mountain theme and had a drink menu to match the theme.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since there were only 2 of us, we passed on the shot-ski but what a fun idea.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife enjoyed her Moira Rose and I liked my Mahogany Teakwood. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views of the Empire State Building and partial views of Times Square are awesome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink prices were reasonable, especially for the views. We would definitely check this place out again.

    Kimberly W.

I heard the Magic Hour Rooftop is where the magic happens. Service was good! Even got an Espresso Martini birthday shot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a little tight in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ordered the shot ski and there was no place to put it . It was literally on both of our neighbors tables[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The fact that the waitress tried to put it down made me laugh even harder. Like why? I took a pic and kindly took my shots off that ski. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The mountain/ski resort type aesthetic was cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the waitresses had on cute faux furs

    Sunday football deal
    Kenneth E.

They weren't playing any football when we arrived. We had a vegetarian with us and they couldn't eat wings and they charged us for a bunch of surf sides that should have been included but weren't. We tried to talk to the server about it but no go. So kinda disappointing. Kinda weird they have this deal if they aren't going to play along with it. Wouldn't come here again

    Kimberly W.

Very cute rooftop bar. They have indoor space so we're able to stay warm while enjoying our drinks. The staff was very kind. unfortunately my friend had forgotten her id. And they were able to accept a valid passport picture. Standard drinks. I love the Chill Vibes at the rooftop bar. It was actually pretty full on a Tuesday night. More of a cozy place to hang out with some friends. Staff was easy to approach and they were managing everything very well. Easy to get your drinks and find your way around. Only thing I had an issue of was the bathroom was disgusting. But other than that everything was really nice.

Fun photo ops, mid service, mid drinks. We came at around 10:00pm with a reservation and originally they sat us in the wrong spot? We moved tables and someone came to take our order. It was incredibly loud and way too dim to see the menu. The kitchen was not in operation and I don't think the bar was in operation either as the Moira Rose cocktail which I ordered mostly for the picture did not come as advertised. There was no pretty floating rose in this rose cocktail. The drink was fine though quite sweet. A very touristy spot. I would not return.

Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge was the perfect spot for an early birthday celebration! From the moment we walked through the glowing entrance, the whole place felt like a festive holiday escape. The décor was fully holiday-themed sparkling lights, cozy accents, and the cutest carousel-style seating that made the whole vibe feel magical and whimsical. We came as a group and ordered the margarita pitcher for five, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night. It was super tasty, refreshing, and perfect for sharing definitely a great pick if you're celebrating anything or just in the mood to keep the vibes flowing. Between the pink neon "Where the Magic Happens" sign, the rooftop views, and the fun holiday touches throughout, the entire experience felt special and memorable. It added the perfect sparkle to my early birthday celebration. Highly recommend for birthdays, girls' nights, or anyone looking to add a little magic to their evening!

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
