Rude customer service! Girl at register seemed like she'd rather be getting a root canal than talk to people!

They didn't have any drinks besides like 4 things. Also they were rude when we were ordering.

Coffee is not good, honestly I wouldn't even call it coffee. I didn't see anything brewed fresh and when they made the latte, they just pushed buttons, it reminds me of the machines at a gas station.The coffee was bitter and burnt. Definitely not good quality coffee at all. In my opinion, it's not a coffee shop for sure. If you enjoy gas station coffee, then you might like this. Menu is really random with a variety of items which are all frozen and warmed up so definitely nothing fresh here, nothing. read more

When you're staying at the Galt House Hotel, there aren't a lot of places within the hotel that are open 24 hours with decent options. Thelma's might actually be the only place. Located on the third floor in the back of the conservatory is this tiny "deli" with sandwiches, candy, drinks, and coffee (you have to ask for this) for any time of day. Pros: Open 24 hours! Has delicious food! Great portion sizes. Cons: Long wait. Service is OK. Limited options. Kind of expensive. Can't really say I expected much more than this, though. I'm glad the hotel had Thelma's, otherwise, everyone would have to venture elsewhere for food during odd hours. read more

I love this little deli in the Galt House. My work building is attached to the Galt House so I go for little walks throughout the day and the area where Thelma's is located is just lovely. It is a big open room with lots of tables, couches, a piano, a bar area and TV's. There is a great view of the waterfront on one side so I enjoy finding a cozy corner to post up and have coffee or lunch. The ladies working at the Deli are super sweet and always compliment me on my attire or smile. The coffee is good, they have pre-made salad and sandwich options or fresh, hot pizza or sandwiches. My favorite thing to get is the egg and cheese flatbread- always hot and yummy. For the convenience and friendly staff, it is a winner to me. read more

24-hour Quick and Easy bites for pretty reasonable prices considering it's inside the Galt House Hotel! (Say What? I know right?!) Our breakfast bagel sandwiches were $5. Our lunch sandwiches were big and yummy for $7-9. Now... they do gouge you for water... $3 for a bottle of water. Come on now! The pizza smelled good... we didn't try them but they smelled good. For what it is, this place is great. It's located inside the atrium that connects the two towers of the Galt House Hotel, so it's got a beautiful view that can't be beat. It's a little side cafe with counter ordering, and it's very clean. There are plenty of healthy options of salads, soups, smoothies, parfaits, etc. I got the chicken bacon ranch panini, and the chipotle mayo was delicious. It was cooked to perfection. It was reasonably priced too. The panini with a bottled drink and chips was $12. Service was kind and quick. I highly recommend this place. read more

I wasn't impressed with much at this deli. I had a week stay at the hotel, so I frequented here a few times. I liked how it was 24/7 for the convenience factor. The chicken bacon ranch panini wasn't anything memorable. The chicken also tasted like it was previously frozen (which I understand it more than likely was, but I don't like how it tasted previously frozen). The pre-made salads were overly expensive for the quality - they were made with shredded taco/sandwich lettuce instead of romaine. The coffee cappuccino was fairly good for the price. The best thing there was probably the smoothies, though they didn't taste like they had much fruit in them. read more

I stayed at the Galt for a conference this week. Every morning I went to Thelma's to get some coffee, and every time the line was long. The girl that worked the morning shift killed it! She made the coffee and cashed us all out. Friday morning, she was by herself !! The line was the longest I've seen it. She didn't complain and was calm. She kept the line moving and I only waited 15 minutes. read more

I mean, what do you expect. So much potential but not enough of anything. Ordered a small pizza the other day and I want to say I am disappointed but at the same time, I can't be because I expected it. The cheese on the pizza have such a weird texture and taste. It feels and taste like it was fake. The size is extremely disappointing considering the boxes they get put into. Had a small pepperoni and I counted 1 pepperoni slice per pizza slices. The food was ok, nothing great but will do the job if you are hungry and have no other options. We were staying at the Galt House after a late event and needed a late meal. The deli was clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. We didn't bother with ordering food but just got ready made items because we thought that would be easiest given the crowd and long wait. The cashier that seemed to be the manager had to ring my friends purchases from the snack bar three separate times in order to do it correctly. We went to Thelma's after the Kentucky Derby. Even though they had pizzas on their menu and I watched two of them come out of the oven, they said they weren't making pizzas. Ordered a sandwich for my wife and I and both of them arrived cold in the middle. I took mine back for a second attempt. Second one arrived cold in the middle. Food tasted ok even though it was cold. Service was mediocre at very best. If you are staying at the Galt, look for other options, though both Thelma's and Cafe Magnolia are both disappointing. read more

The location is great and the atrium that it's inside is very pretty. The staff was friendly although they forgot my order (wasn't mad, it happens, and they fixed it quick). I got a 7" pepperoni pizza. The pizza was exactly what I like. A thin crust, light sauce, with a good portion of cheese. The pepperonis are very large so only 4-5 fit on the pizza and they layer the cheese on top of that which I though was cool. Overall a good experience and I will return, probably in the middle of the night because they're open 24 hours ! read more

I have eaten at Thelma's probably a dozen times, why? Because it's convenient for me and I don't want to walk around downtown Louisville by myself to go get dinner. The cashier (Phyllis) took my order and was very curt with me. When I picked up my order I told her I was offended by her attitude. I could tell she didn't really care, but offered a weak apology. Quick, simple little breakfast place. Egg and bacon sandwich on English muffin was hot and yummy.

We got in from a late night flight, decided to go to the bar at the hotel to get a drink, after leaving the bar we decided to grab a flatbread pizza and a sandwich. It smelled good and we were hungry and it was the only thing open. The flatbread was alright, but not great... really saucy and messy. We ordered a steak and cheese sandwich, which they initially forgot so they had to make it after the fact the pizza had already come out... so we got it (about thirty seconds later) and went up to our room to eat. We opened the sandwich and it was the wrong sandwich, they gave us an Italian chicken instead of steak and cheese and it was still cold inside because they were rushing to get it to us after they forgot it. The ladies at the counter were really nice, probably tired cause it was like 1:30AM... but still when paying $200 a night for a hotel room, I'd expect more. read more

I stopped by for a breakfast sandwich on my way to a meeting at The Galt House. Specifically asked for an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. They repeated my order back to me to make sure they had it right. When I took a bite, I realized there was a sausage patty on it. I'm vegetarian. I went back to Thelma's to have my order corrected. I was given a new sandwich and a glib apology but no refund. Also, the sandwich was kind of soggy, clearly microwaved, and cost just over $5. Not impressed at all. read more

A little convenience sort of place in the conservatory of the Galt House. It has salads, chips, sandwiches, breakfast items like bagels and yogurt. It's nothing amazing, but it will take care of business if you need a quick meal or a snack. The staff were a little slow, but friendly. read more

Yes it's food. If you're human and you require caloric intake to stay alive, this is your place. They have a lot of pre-fab food in the cooler and a crew that makes hot food behind the counter. I bought two salads and two drinks, it was $19. The one salad was, to be fair, about two pounds. It was an entire chicken breast on top of a lot of iceberg lettuce, some cucumber slices that were 1/2" thick and at least one full cup of diced red onions. It was a salad made by someone who has never eaten a salad. Once I chopped up the chicken, sifted out the sea of onion bits and worked to construct a salad from all this it was fine; the chicken was OK, a little dry, but the other ingredients were fresh. And I had to ask for salad dressing which they kept behind the counter for some reason. The other salad was a mixed fruit salad that was OK. I was there when it was very busy. One overworked cashier. They were out of knives and napkins. Overall if you're hungry and need food to live, this is your spot. This place perfectly emulates the experience of eating at an airport; a limited menu of overpriced food. read more
