I came in on a friday afternoon, and I had one of the best experiences with Mary. The salon itself is located in a very open plaza, and the environment in the Salon is extremely clean and modern. Dan is the best hairstylist! I have long hair and it is frizzy and unmanageable. It also has layers. I was in search of a stylist who could cut my hair so that it flattered my face and was cut in a way to showcase my hair color. Dan is your guy! I drive several miles into the City to see Dan so he can cut my hair. He always cuts it just how I like it. I see Yelena at this salon and when I say she out does herself I do not lie. I am a very picky particular blonde and she has been able to get me to the color I have always dreamt of. Today when I left the salon I was in tears in my car because having my hair done is the only thing that makes me feel beautiful and when you get a good stylist it just makes you feel like all your worries are gone! I am beyond saddened by the lousy way this place is handled. Just moved to the area and am very knowledgeable about salons and stylists. Had my hair done by Kat 5 weeks ago and spent $400 for a color, partial weave and cut. It was a nice job not really a $400 result but never the less good. Booked my next appointment for 5 weeks with Kat. Just walked out extremely angry. Showed up at today and was sitting in "Kats" station when I was approached and told my appointment was with "Alexa" not Kat, Wrong and a Lie. I received no call to let me know and they tried to convince me to stay. Walked out and am in my car fuming. I don't even know where to begin I have so many good things to say about Blake Charles Salon and the amazing stylists there. I started getting my hair done by both Melea and Victoria when the salon first reopened with a new owner and new name several years ago. Melea and Victoria are both amazing and helped me transform my hair from extremely damaged, thin, and ugly (from 20+ years of using supermarket boxed dye and using too high of heat on my blow dryer with no thermal protection) into beautiful, healthy hair that I absolutely love. I love how my hair feels now and am no longer embarrassed by how my hair looks. I am 43 and I thought that the changes I was seeing in my hair were caused by getting older, but they have shown me that my hair can still be as healthy as it was when I was in my 20s. I really look forward to getting my hair done and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Thank you so much Melea and Victoria! They also have very high quality hair/skin products at several different price points that are great. I've tried the Iles Formula and liked it quite a bit. Then I fell in love with the Oribe products they carry and have been using that for a couple years. My husband started complaining about how much Oribe products are (they are expensive but worth every penny!) so I tried a new line they brought in called "VoCe" that is at a much lower price point and LOVE it. The stylists there know all the products very well and really help you find the product(s) that work best for you. I don't feel any kind of pressure to buy while browsing their products, yet someone is always there to answer any questions I may have. I have gotten to know some of the other stylists at the salon (Vika, Yelena and Korinne) as well as the esthetician (Lisa) and they are all very friendly, helpful and professional. While I have never had my hair (or facial) done by them, I would not hesitate to go to them if Melea or Victoria were not available. The salon itself is beyond gorgeous and always very clean. I've never had any kind of problem finding parking right by the salon and love to walk across the parking lot to Starbuck's to grab something to drink if I show up a little early. This is such a great salon and I am so glad I found it! Highly recommended! read more
