A neighborhood gem. Old fashioned country diner. Always a busy lunch run. Good food with wonderful desserts!! The servers are fast and courteous. The old wood floor could really tell some stories! Highly recommend when driving around the McQueeney area.

Very very very happy with our whole experience at Blake's Cafe ! My husband is from the area so he's been there before. This was my first time at the original location and I was NOT disappointed one bit ! Our service was great all around! I believe our server was Mary and she was so helpful and sweet ! Our food came out fast ! I had the chicken fried chicken and it was sooo good ! Highly recommend you try it ! My hubby said his plate was very good as well. We were super happy and full when we left the cafe. Finished our early dinner off with desserts and they were both so yummy ! Love the setup in the cafe ' very open seating and spacious ' easy to get around. Will definitely be going back soon ! Thank y'all for the great experience !

Parking is little limited but on the side of the establishment is an auxiliary parking. As you walk inside you see the old power station. As you enter you are taking to your seat, either inside or in the patio area to see the view of the river. The personnel are very helpful and kind, they answer any questions regarding the menu. Now the food I choose the "Pecan Crusted Chicken" with a side salad and "Poblano Corn", there are many options for your sides to make it your choice. As far as the taste of the meal, it was delicious and outstanding flavors, I highly recommend this place.

It was warm to start but the AC caught up in a reasonable time. Ma enjoyed the usual house salad with the rest of us and a dish of meatballs since she's given up carbs; was very satisfied with the flavor/texture. Her husband ordered his absolute usual, the fettuccine chicken alfredo. I can truthfully swear in court he HAS actually tried and enjoyed other dishes, but I think he himself has forgotten that fact. Mr R, eating vegetarian this day, had the eggplant parmigiana which still had a lovely crisp on it and enough sauce/cheese to complement without becoming overwhelming. The last 2/5 of his plate was full of spaghetti marinara and he cleared the entire thing even after a sub at Angellis for lunch. I had the chicken cacciatore for the first time in a while, and while warned it was a little spicy found it was a lovely gentle heat. The chicken cutlets do seem a little smaller since the last time but I could be wrong. The basket of rolls, in contrast, was ginormous. I don't think I recall being served that many for a party of four here, but again. Perhaps I misremember. Naim took great care of us in between the other tables and several to go orders. He always does and he loves a clean table. No one had room for dessert and we didn't win the fight for the tab so I can't tell you the actual price. Took home that mountain of fresh rolls and they fed Mr R and myself the entire next day just enjoying buttered rolls, tomato sandwiches, and using up leftovers in the fridge like brisket and the rest of my chicken cacciatore. We lingered a long time catching up and no one rushed us. Bathroom is aged but clean. In Seguin's collection of several great Texmex and bbq establishments plus franchise locations, this is one of the independent places that offers welcome variety.

The side salad was just the right size, and as usual, the meal came with their rolls, which are chewy, tasty, and filling. The service was likewise quick and friendly. My spouse ordered the malbec, but they were out, so she asked for merlot, and so the server recommended the cabernet sauvignon, but that is a minor nitpick. All told it's good, quality Italian food for Seguin, Texas.

I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, it's got a home like feel. The staff always treats you like family. It's my daughter's birthday and she wanted to float down the river. So that means a trip to Clear Springs. First up a small order of onion rings. They were so good, the crisp outer batter and thick onions. Next up my youngest had the Shrimp Po Boy. It had a nice flavor from lettuce tomatoes and tangy dressing. The shrimp were fried well. My oldest daughter had the Fish Tacos. They were bright and fresh but needed a little more zing. My son had the Combination (fish and fried crawfish)- the crawfish were tasty and had a good batter. My Seafood Grill was amazing. The shrimp brochettes were amazing, loved the grilled catfish. I'm not usually a fan of blackened catfish but this one was good. My wife had the cup of Cajun Gumbo. It wasn't bad but it was chunky and that's not my style. We ended with the Chocolate Cake for dessert since it was my oldest daughter's birthday. It was the perfect end, the pecans added a saltiness that balanced out the richness of the chocolate.

Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. Upon checking in, we were initially directed to a table that had not been cleaned. When my boyfriend politely asked if we could be seated at a booth that was currently being cleared, the host initially agreed. However, she then seated two other guests, who were white and had arrived after us at that same booth. Given the circumstances and the subsequent request to wait for a different table, this incident opened our eyes to potential racial bias, and we felt it was best to leave and dine elsewhere. I believe your host staff would benefit from additional training regarding equitable service and professional conduct. It is truly a shame that our visit was handled in this manner, as we had hoped for a much more welcoming evening. I wanted to bring this to your attention in the hope that it helps improve your service for future guests.

Their brisket is divine and the sides we chose were out of this world. My husband loves their beans. The green beans were unique and I appreciated that they were super flavorful with tomatoes and delicious broth. The star of the show with the sides was the King Ranch Mac N Cheese!!!! I grew up on King Ranch Chicken Casserole as a child. So I was thrilled to have a macaroni with those delicious flavors. For a little history, that particular casserole emerged in the 1950s as a convenient, post-World War II Tex-Mex comfort food. Despite its name, it has no actual ties to Texas's famous King Ranch; instead, it is a creative, canned-soup-based casserole inspired by the Mexican dish chilaquiles. I am ususally underwhelmed by macaroni and cheese but this was the best. The macaroni shape was unusual and the closest I could find online was called "Radiator" because the similarity in shape to a radiator. It held the sauce perfectly though. McKayla helped us cart out our food to the car and was so sweet and helpful. We love Burnt Bean and plan to return!

Around 8:30 lots of people showed up and the line wrapped around the corner. Sun was not on us for the first hour. Second hour was hot but luckily around 10:20 they announced they were opening early YAY! We were eating by 10:45. Very organized, they have water out while you wait. Ok now the food: We got 2.5 lbs brisket 1.5 lbs ribs 1 link sausage which was .5 lb .5 burnt ends 1.5 lbs drumsticks which was 3 legs Pint Mac and cheese Pint Beans I got 1 chopped sandwich to take home. This was plenty for us 3 healthy eaters. Best part was the chicken 10/10 it was like a turkey leg from Fiesta iykyk. Cinco sausage- 9/10 flavor on point a bit crumbly Ribs were also 10/10 a bit sweet and sticky but smokey Burnt ends were perfect Brisket- 8.75/10 now here is where I get picky. It was amazing, flavorful, fatty and tender BUT it was a bit too tender so the texture was more like pot roast than brisket. A mix between smoked and oven brisket. Not terrible but not what I like. So i give it 8.75. Mac and cheese- 5/10 my two Mac loving companions did not care for it. It was more queso with pasta added than macaroni and cheese. Beans- 9/10 they were delish with the cheese! Tastes like frito pie. Chili beans but soo good. Potato salad: 8/10 very tia backyard style but could be elevated. Bacon ranch taters 10/10 they gave us a sample and husband loved it! Said he wished he got that vs the mac. Comes with pickles and martins bread. Drinks- sweet tea was legit and in a big to go cup 10/10 Tips: Free beer! They have free yueling beers for dine in. Plenty of to go containers and bags. Lots of seating but we were front of line. Reviews say 2 hour parking but thats M-F. Plenty of spots around the block if you come later. Nice little downtown area but lots of places are closed before 10. Lots of cool people in line! Chatted with a few and it was a vibe. Big question- would I wait 2 hours again? Yes if you go in better weather. This was late August and it gets hot fast. If you're taking your friends/family then yes make it an event, fans, chairs, coolers, music etc. Overall its really good and worth a trip for the chicken alone.
