    The Caprese Burger!
    Katie R.

We have eaten here before but both times the service is AMAZING! The food is so good! We always get a burger because their burgers are so good! The Caprese burger is my favorite! We had drinks tonight and the drinks were great! Our server tonight was so fun to work with! We will definitely be back. Thank you for the amazing food and service!

We were asked to show our id's! Haven't had to do that for many years! After a certain time, they card everyone. Plenty of tables and booths throughout, with fun decorations. A bar area and two pool tables, plus tv's throughout the rooms. I ordered the Calamari fries off the appetizer section of the menu, plus a house salad. My husband ordered the nachos off the apps menu as well. My calamari came out quickly, but everything else took awhile. Not sure why, since two of the three items were considered appetizers. The calamari was very crispy on the outside and tender meat inside. Yum! The salad was pretty basic, although very small for $8. It did come with a half slice of grilled bread. The nachos were pretty standard as well. Service was friendly.

We went to blakeslee's for dinner. The is one of the only restaurants/ bars in forks. Upon entry, they were asking EVERYONE for ID, including people who looked like they're well over 45 (let alone 21). The inside is a bit dated but there is plenty of seating and a large bar in the back, with two pool tables. The food was just ok; caprese burger was dry but the fries were good. Note, all the apps on the menu are deep fried. Service was fine; the waitress was working hard to accommodate customers. Not sure I would eat here again, if other options were available in Forks.

Suppose to be chicken on my oriental salad. ???

I went here because I was told this is the closest place to a "bar" in town. It closed at 10pm the night I went and only stayed open until midnight on the weekends. It seemed like more of a restaurant than a bar but they did have 2 pool tables over in the corner. I needed something decent to take home to my air b&b so I ordered the oriental chicken salad and the fried shrimp meal. The shrimp was ok but I didn't want to eat much fried food on this trip and unfortunately there are very very few options in Forks. The salad was very lackluster for the price and the "chicken" was inedible. I sat the bar and talked briefly to a couple of the bartenders. They didn't seem interested at all in making conversation with guests. Two older guys sitting at the bar next to me made me uncomfortable so I left. I also got id'd 3 times since I walked in the door, which I'll be 40 in November, I know I look younger than I am but id'ing 3 times seems excessive. Basically this place is the latest hangout in town with bar food. Not a destination place to go to.

The food was fresh! Mozz sticks looked in house made and so did the wraps and burgers. and our server was friendly. Only comment is the bathroom is oddly close to the tables and nobody wants doo doo air next to their table but besides that it's great

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, and we were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the oriental chicken salad, and it was so good--the dressing was flavorful, and the greens were super fresh. We also shared the chicken wings, which were really tasty. The sauce on them was delicious. On top of the great food, the service was warm and friendly. Our server was so sweet and made us feel right at home. We're not local, but the next time we're in Forks, we'll definitely be coming back!

A salad with a small cup of chowder

We had a hefeweizen (good) and a hard cider (quite good). We had a reuben with onion rings, and a soup & salad combo. The salad was pedestrian, nothing special at all. The chowder (an uncharge from regular soup) was tasty and interestingly herbed -- in short ok, but I wouldn't get it again. The onion rings were great -- the highlight of our visit. The reuben was ok, though I've had better. So the net on the food was "good beer, good onion rings, most of the food passable but nothing special". The atmosphere was of an old-fashioned bar & grill, the kind with TVs scattered about showing sports, several reasonably friendly bar tenders, and the look of a place that gets rowdy on a Friday night, and busy for trivia night. Then there's the matter of the invoice and what we were charged -- the amount due wasn't the same as the total of the items listed on the invoice. It was off by less than $1, but it's pretty strange, one wonders where the accumulated errors from multiple patrons ends up (we were charged $0.82 more than the sum of the items on the ticket - see the associated image). We know that Blakeslee's is well loved in Forks - I wish we could say we loved it, but a better description would be that we got a decent but unremarkable meal there on a rainy afternoon. And in the initial review, but cut after the listing name was modified: "BTW, by being listed as "BBG Blakeslee's Bar & Grill", rather than just "Blakeslee's Bar & Grill", this Yelp listing is hard to find with a search. Is this deliberate? Pretty odd - why have your initials then your name in a Yelp listing."

Fish and chips (they call it breaded cod and fries).
    Robin S.

Not many options for bars with food in Forks so we tried this place. It's OK. - Fish and chips (breaded cod on the menu): not bad but bland. Fat curly fries are too fat, gimmicky; not a good substitute for regular-cut fries. Coleslaw is weak. - Service was slow; only one server working the tables. Bar service slow too. - Small town bar and grill ambiance. Not too loud. - Menu is fairly standard; vegetarian options limited.

Blakesless is a local bar in Forks, stopped here for lunch before going to Olympic national park. Food was ok, portions were rightly given too. Got the Dip Burger and Nachos. I have never eaten Nachos which came with Lettuce and no beans They tasted ok, Service was nice as well.

This was my first time at Blakeslee's. It's a small town bar and grill with a divey atmosphere offering billiards and a full bar. The caprese burger is to DIE for! I was intrigued by this Italian-American fusion. The burger was juicy, the balsamic tomatoes were perfectly bright and citrusy. The staff were so kind, patient, and let us feel like we all belonged. Great spot to go kick back! As of August 2025, Blakeslee's is 21+ after 3 PM.

The restaurant itself is comfortable with leather padded seats and the music was fairly muted so talking was very easy. Service isn't necessarily the most attentive or snappy but not negligent either. Took like 5-10 minutes each time to get a beer, flag for check, and no one routinely filling water, etc. I kind of them to be more responsive since there were literally only 2 other tables when we came. Food: Hot honey Brussels: Strongly recommended but it was on their specials menu so may not be available year round. The Brussels were crispy and not too bitter, it was topped with healthy amounts of pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, warmed pears, Gorgonzola, and a drizzle of honey that wasn't excessive. Fish and chips: The good of this dish is the fish. The flesh is tender, properly cooked and it comes straight from the fryer blazing hot. The breading is crisp and well adhered but a little dense and oily compared to other fried fish I've had. My major complaint however was that the crinkle cut fries had a rancid oil taste which is bitter with a slight chemical smell. This may not be a problem when you go but it was very off putting for me. The tartar sauce is also VERY dill forward and very rich without any relish so I squeezed most of my lemon in it to brighten it up and help cut the grease. Mac and Jacks African Amber beer - Delicious beer served wonderfully cold Overall, this place was a little hit and miss. We really enjoyed our Brussels appetizer and beer but the fish and chips were overall mediocre at best, even if you forgive them for the rancid oil. Prices were reasonable to slightly high: two fish and chip entrees, a beer, and a soda running about $67 w/o tip. Probably not a place I would bother trying again.

Our party included 3 adults - my son, daughter and myself. Our waitress brought drinks and took our order at 5:06 - a promising start. Unfortunately, that was the last time we saw her until our food arrived at 5:58. No check-ins, no refills, no updates, nothing. When my daughter unwrapped her silverware, the utensils were filthy with food caked on from the previous user. We understand mistakes happen, so she simply grabbed a clean setup from the empty table beside us and moved on. In hindsight this was a red flag. The real disappointment was the food. My son ordered the Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro Pasta. The dish arrived with exactly four shrimp and what can only be described as a child-sized portion of angel hair pasta placed in the center of an oversized plate. The shrimp themselves were seasoned well enough, but the pasta was devoid of any seasoning whatsoever. It was bland to the point of being unfinished. My daughter and I both ordered the Chicken Marsala, a dish we regularly enjoy at many restaurants. What arrived was a very small chicken cutlet (I cannot in good faith call it a chicken "breast" as stated in the menu) with sauce, a scoop of mashed potatoes, and a grilled vegetable. The whole dish was lukewarm at best. The chicken was shockingly dry - genuinely some of the driest chicken I've ever been served in a restaurant. It honestly tasted as though it had been cooked days before and reheated. We've had beef jerky with more moisture. At that point we wanted to speak with our waitress, but once again she was nowhere to be found. No doubt hiding in the kitchen because she had to have known what she was serving us. We ate what we could because we still had a drive of more than two hours ahead of us and did not want to stop again elsewhere. We refused to let the experience completely ruin our evening, but it absolutely put a damper on what was supposed to be a nice dinner for my son's last night in town. For a dinner that ultimately cost well over $125, the overall experience was incredibly disappointing. Long stretches with no service, dirty utensils, and extremely dry entrées are simply not what one expects at that price point. Poor service can happen anywhere. Serving food of this quality while seemingly absent from the dining room altogether reflects a much larger issue with how customers are being treated. We frequent the Olympic Peninsula, but we will never eat at Kalaloch Lodge again.
